Such a negative look at The full moon party. That priest should mind his own business if he has a problem with the place, and not ask the Australian government to interfere with a place that is not their's. The full moon party is brilliant. Of course it has it's problems, but what party doesn't?
@cenfy57 True, but on the other hand there are hundreds of islands and nice quiet beaches in Thailand and in the world for that matter, but there's only one Full Moon Party.
@morrel2 Most of the best accessible beaches in Thailand have already been exploited (even on places like Ko Chang , Ko Lanta ). But Ko Phangan and Hat Rin were once a quiet undeveloped haven . The people who just wanted simple huts on a quiet beach were there long before before the Full Moon Party. Having said that I have to concede that even if the FMP had never started the developers would have eventually moved in.

@morrel2 Fair point , but its also matter of opinion- some people enjoy the party but others feel it has spoiled what was once a nice beach
