Ahh this brings back good memories when my dad told me that this was a thousand times better than any other films and that I couldn't go and see more popular films because they were all crap compared to this film. He was definatly right :D

  • Ya know, A lot of people tell me they didn't like this movie beceaurse it looks wired or is very, bery strange. But I say thats what makes it so unique and good.

Watch an animated disney movie, they migth be good, but it's allways the same. The story and the style.

    This is new and different.

  • This movie is just plain epic!

  • This is the best movie ever!!!!!!!

  • @FuzzyPeaches45 Couldn't agree more!

  • I started watching this because someone told me the art style was similar to that of Professor Layton.... but this is very strange....

  • i thought so too :)

  • lmao i was in french class and my teacher picked this up and when the naked woman with the bannannas poped up he shut the screen off lol.

  • Really? My French teacher kept it on xD

  • @fueledbymanga lol my french teacher kept it on also!

  • would you label this kind of music as jazz?

or is there any accurate name to it?

  • @Chamako87 I think you would term it a 'rag' as in ragtime music. Jazz that has 'swing'.

  • Proud to say I worked in the theater where this film was first released to American audiences. Loved the preview, waited weeks, and wasn't let down.

  • i love this movie so advant garde

  • just realised the chick dancing with no bra coverage is meant to be josephine baker...

  • django Reinhardt who would have guessed it :)

  • Uh They Show'd Female Tits In The Begging XD

  • someone translate it into english please. i know it sucks i cant speak french but a little help would be most generouse

  • @moonunit1988

    I'm french and I do not understand the sound !!! It's a kind of phonetics sound asyou can find in jazz music;

    Best Regards,

    Olivier from France.

  • honestly there is so little dialogue thats usefull you really wont even need the translation. There is a subed version I found if u want it ill happily give it. just message me

  • HAHAH :D

  • Does anybody know the title of the piano sequence beginning at 4:01?

  • I've been trying to figure out the same thing...

  • you buy the original soundtrack of the movie, all the songs were made just for this amazing film

  • I do not know what the piano piece is but the artist is Glenn Gould.

  • I know !

From Prelude and Fugue in C minor (since there is a fugue which follows), well tempered clavier book.

    Pareludium BWV 847, J.S Bach :)

And yes, it's glenn gould playing.

  • Thank you for sharing your knowledge. Indeed - it is Bach.

  • Same.

  • i loove this movie! its just great soo cool have creppy scenes, funny scenes an music its great!! i luv it!!

  • How this movie lost an Academy Award to Finding Nemo I will never know....

  • It was probably the naked woman..

    It could have been the general internal politics of the whole thing -__-;

  • This naked woman represents Josephine Baker!

Great movie! One of the best film animation ever! Love it and the music too!

  • @akoszi Hear, Hear!!!

  • @akoszi ahhh it got everyone by surprise. just recently i watch this in french class and at first we were all skeptical about how great the movie truelly was. as the movie went on, the story started devoloping into a vast and totally uncanny thunderfuck XD BUT IT WAS GREAT! the movie is about stomp music, mafias, extreme condication to your dreams and, most of all, creativity. yet, throughout the whole movie none of the main characters actually talk in a full conversation. i urge you to watch :)

  • esta padre su vídeo felicidades jajajaja

  • i saw this in my creative writing class. its amazing.

  • this is like the 25th time I'm watching this

    lmao XD
