  • 1000pound for a complete training course is cheap

  • im from germany.... my english is very poor..

the main problem on the NVIDIA G86 GPU is not the solderballs. The solderballs are the secondray issue. The Main issue is the Bonding of the Die(or dy, dye).

If you reball it, make sure you go 215 Celsius with holding time about 10sec to get the bonding fixed too. with this method i experienced a 3month living hp dv6000 !!with jammed!! cooling system. The main problem on ATI GPU is that they use 0,5mm Balls, they cant handle the thermal stress.

  • £1000 to train you how to reball? your having a fucking laugh

  • great video and is very educational.

  • lol, "thnx for watching my 10 minute video".... looks at time, the vid is 15 minutes.

  • u found it on the streets? only the motherboard or does it also have other pieces like the casing, hdd, dvd, something like that.

  • If the laptop has a separate graphics chip will never use NB for displaying graphics in any conditions

  • You said that if your using external monitor, you are actually using the northbridge and not the GPU? then I supposed you use different driver for it? Any reference material to prove it? AFAIK it uses the same chip even when you're using the on board monitor(LCD)or the external monitor. Please enlighten me! Thanks for the great Video!

  • Hello. Could you tell me what shall I do to prevent blank screen again after i repaired my GPU. If ill be carefull will it work for long time.

  • Nice gorilla pod. Is it holding an external thermocouple in place?

  • Why don't you try to clean up the board while still warm?

temperature of 110-140 Celsius as the temperature is safe to clean pre-heated board and the best part is that it does not have to be heated again, but just not allow it to cool down completly after you take off your chip!

this way is much easier to clean the board, and much less risky for the board and the borad-pads itself!

  • @MrSmallWalrus Totally agree. I still remember the day though that i got the letter telling me i had to stop using lead based solder. followed by a directive that i had to keep data sheets on every chemical i had on site. Not to mention have them all locked up in a steel cabinet. If that was not enough i had to make sure that all components solders and so on had to be traceable all the way back to its source. No wonder China is doing well. Equipment calibration well, thats just another thing

  • lol dude nice handy work but if your in the EU your NOT allowed to use lead solder balls or lead solder. Lead solder is banned has been for years now.

  • @f1r31c3r1 if it is fine pitch 0.65mm it is exempt. i am into reballing to in uk and have searched the RoHS legislation document for all the ifs and buts. It seems that for repairs or spare parts that were made before 2010 then they exempt from the legislation. There are other exemptions in there but too many too list here.

  • @DJKloop That sounds about right its been a while since i read all the articles on this. I have to say Lead Free Solder used for BGA re-balling has a 3.5% content of pure silver and if you use a quality product you can achieve far better results than lead solder. Silver is a far better conductor than lead not to mention produces a much better job, all be it the price is shockingly high. using silver solder in these processes correctly really does work better, well it does for me any way.

  • Where did you learn this kind fo stuff? I would like to learn as a hobby. I am sure it takes years to get it right

  • why u use a mask:))?

  • hi reply4reply! what course did you study in college? can you also build a motherboard?

  • Someone else noticed the tear falling on 02:26 ? Yellow color in front right of the camera.

  • What kind of protection mask do you have on? Is it with active carbon?

    Thank you.

  • Really wonder full job Mr i really Big Thanks for this video

  • After watching this video inspired me. I'm so proud I can reball too. As reply4reply said "the best of the best" does a reball. Regular technicians at computer shops wouldn't even dare of such a repair.

  • Thanks for posting these videos. I tinker some with laptop repair and these videos have taught me a lot. I admire anyone who can do board level repairs because that separates the men for the boys. Anyway great videos.

  • Precision Division specializes in circuit-level laptop motherboard repair. All repairs are professionally performed at a computer controlled dark infrared rework station and monitored by continuous ESD event detection. Mods are implemented to help prevent subsequent failures. Precision Division can even install a secondary fan inside your laptop! No other company in the world can do that.

  • Hi! excellent videos i´m learning a lot from you! I have a couple of questions if u don´t mind ok? so... first: brand and model of your reballing station, which is better hot airflow or laser IR or infrared beam? 2- what brand of solder balls do u recomend? 3-what kind of tape do you use to cover the circuit board to avoid heating of near components? i surf some and found 3M aluminium foil tape, mylar tape, polyamide tape and kapton tape but i dont know which to use. I appreciate you help :-)

  • @shogotmty he will never reply he considered these basics things as secret of the trade believe reballing is easy u can learn it if u buy the reballing station directly from the manufacture this will provide training to you

  • What kind of tape is that, where can I get it from? Thanks

  • Could you tell me the average price for a reballing with 6 months warranty?

btw your great! I've been learning a lot from your videos

  • you are a arab? Nvidia and ati sucks , just wished those old graphic card brands that closed down decades ago was still here , pretty sure they can offer far better hardware than nvidia or ati.

  • I have the same 898 station. Is it possible to do this with just hot air, or should I save up for the ir station too?

  • @maynardr6 Yes you can, but you'll need a motherboard bottom heater to provide heat from the bottom or the chip won't budge. something like PUHUI T-8280 and you'll need a nozzle for the hot air to cover the chip, which matches the size of the chip then you're good to go.

  • Nice video lotfi

  • An other great movie m8! Your work inspires me to keep on learning about electronics. And if my GPU ever fails, i'll be sure to send it to you!

    Keep up the good work!

  • @staceyvancolen Thank U :-) I am overwhelmed

  • hey, reply4relpy

Why does these motherboards fail on the solder work ?

is it because the tin is bad or if you reflow it and use better cool paste and fan will it solve the problem or is it a tin problem the whole way ?

    thanks

  • @Megasromanos I can't tell you I don't know, the manufacturer doesn't know, no one knows. it's electronics you just can't expect them to work forever. however what my theory is, it's the chip, the solder, the motherboard everything.

  • @reply4reply What is the life span after reballing the cpu,gpu ?

Thanks for your time & reply 4 reply

i'm looking forward for the next video !

  • @Megasromanos 6 Months to 5 Years.

  • @Megasromanos Tiny micro fractures appear on the solder balls under the chip. These are made worse by tiny void bubbles within the solder balls. Like your sidewalk cracks with the seasons, the solder cracks from constant heating and cooling down. Leaded solder does crack over time as well.

  • I re-flowed an old laptop and indeed it lasted 1 month before it stopped working. I knew it would happen (thanks to you) and I only did that to extract the data and pass it to the new computer. Anyhow we all know that laptops are made to work 3 years, these computer companies are really stingy.

  • u're cool again and so cool all the time

  • @ismihanna Thank you my number 1 Fan, always the first to comment, always the first to rate me :-)
