Read the description more carefully. Each individual MCE LED puts out 900 lumens. Well, the most recent Kong-12 builds had 12 XML LEDs, for a total of 12000 lumens. I am currently building Kong-21, which will be 21000 lumens.
Kong-12 does not overheat or get hot, because of the massive size of the flashlight. It does get very warm, but never to the point you cannot hold it. The cooling fins are not for looks only, they function to cool the flashlight down. Flashlight pulls 9 amps total, at around 16.8 volts approximate when batteries fully charged, runs for about 1 hour on high. This flashlight is using twelve 18650 Li-Ion batteries, three banks of four in series 3x4 series/parallel.
Actually, I received an email recently, from a customer in the military. He says there were landing at night in a helicopter and there was a problem with their lighting system, so he pulled out his EDC-MCE flashlight (only one MCE LED), and lit up the landing pad thoroughly. The others in the chopper were duly impressed that such a small light he could pull out of his pocket could light things up like that. Imagine Kong-12 with 12 of the same LEDs, 12x's the light.

I got three of your lights. They are still kicking. One I use most is a 3W Blaster II. Also got your tri-star phaser and XM2.
One you got here is a helicopter search light ;) .
