As I learn more about Poker and start to play it, I see how this film is actually hella realistic. The experienced player will nod often saying 'yeah I agree with that', while the newbie won't be put off by the couple of hands that are shown- the general story is excellent as well.
this movie should be worshipped in the hollywood world. One of the best films ever, phenominal acting and writting. A masterpiece. Like aak said, very under rated.
good will hunting is a great movie, but dont even compare those two, this is one of the most under rated greatest movies of all time, this is the reason i like matt damon and ed norton. this movie will never really be known too well, but definitley in my top 5 movies of all time. i never get sick of this movie
it's an alright movie but ed norton totally underplays his character and matt damon's gf didn't have a gd enough part to get a cover picture on a magazine. a little poor after uv seen good will hunting
i have never seen the entire movie but most clips of it suggest it contains a lot of poker playing and not much action - and everyone complains that they don't play the right way, so it's weird that everyone has it as a favourite movie
It doesn't have as much poker playing as one might imagine, but it is a movie about poker. I can't really explain it, but it is a great movie, watch it if you have a chance.
Can't be pocket 10s.. he said that the last ace could not have helped.. implying that mcdermotts hand would still be crush if he had Aces.. meaning that Pocket tens would lose when the Ace hit.. Teddy already told us that.. of course he could lie too/ but yeah no way pocket 10s..
My opinion... the next best thing that would beat trips (AA in case mcdermott had it) since KGB said that A would help.. then that would be a straight.. but that is not possible since the only straight is the nuts which mcdermott had. so i conclude that KGB had pocket aces.. ONLY possible explanation would be AA cuz he would have it
Well, I could be J8s or J9s, that would make sense. 99 or 1010 seems more likely. Pot seems like KGB has made a big raise, and Mike has made a loose call preflop and called with a club draw on the flop. KGB put him on the club draw. Calling allin with 2500 left isn't that unlikely in that spot (starting stack was 10K?)
I love this movie so much. How was it not popular when it came out? You old people have no taste in movies.

John Malkovich should have gotten a best supporting actor oscar for his character in this movie.

Hey...your comment was 10 months ago so u might have seen it since.
It's not a movie about poker as much as it's a movie about gambling...also about the desire to know how good you can really be.
There's a lot of poker and there's no action as in shit blowing up, but it's a quality movie

I hate how the closed caption has "Very good" instead of "They're good" when Mike shows his Jacks up.
