The obvious answer is to vastly reduce the amount of meat we eat and to show our support of ethically raised meat through what we buy. Actions speak louder than words. We the consumers have WAY more power than big business. They are NOTHING without us.

not only is it terrible to treat any living thing this way, it is a disgrace. not to sound selfish, but how much nutrients does the meat have and is it safe to eat chickens who have a lot of stress hormones in them? (and whatever other hormones they inject)

We can't just blame the people who do this. They have the greatest responsibility, but they are also satisfying a demand. The human race in general is guilty of doing this to animals.

I don't ever battery chicken but I think it's time to stop eating pork too.

Of course if anyone is truly moved by these practices... the only alternative is to adopt a plant based diet... The answer to ending these abuses is to go vegan.
