So how do we get started on bounty hunting? Just fit a nice tech 1 frig and head to low sec space and keep eyes peeled for red names in our overview? Me and my friends run a small mining/PvE corp, but we're getting bored and want to kill shit. If we rolled out in pairs (EG. Griffin and a Merlin) is there alot of Pirates in frigates out there that need killing?
@WCdragoninja There generally are a lot of rats that need killing, but they'll often have super-expensive implants (and illegal boosters. :P), and they won't all be in frigates or destroyers. If you want frig-pvp practice, head to Amamake the first friday of every month; it's Frigfry Friday and a whole bunch of people just kill each other in frigates (just be careful of a guy named Lukka in a Merlin. :P).

@havoc151976 That's a warp drive disruptor, if I'm not correct, that or it's a stasis webifier. Same basic concept yet different affects. (I'm relatively new to the game myself and don't know all the ropes so I could be wrong.)
@PitbullNL No! if your just learning the game, use small replaceable ships like tech 1 frigates and cruisers, you will need to pick your targets, as there wont be a lot out there you can kill, but its the only way you learn what you can kill!

Also can't wait to get my Battlecruiser, I just started playing the game though. One question though, can you make the money easily enough to get back the battlecruiser and keep using those ships or do you only take it out on rare occasions?
@Cyanesence: BC;s are cheap and cheerfull but I usually T2 fit and T1 rig them. Typical Costs is about 70mill, But then theres a few really good fits I use that costs 40-50 Mill and are just as good.

Whatever you do in eve, specialise in one race, each is good in any situation with the right tools, but you need to pump a lot of skills into it to really get the most out of any race, so stick with it.
That is true, some ships even combine 2 race skills, which makes it a pretty powerfull ship. something like gallente + caldari, which both use hybrid guns. But focusing on one type of combination of tanking and dps, is an advantage when you're new to the game tho.
Not much of an advantage if you cant afford to loose such ships, surely its better to fly one thing well than many poorly? Im just basing this on how long it would take to actually get into a decent T2 ship, to T2 fit a T1 ship, and how long before you can run level 4's and start getting cash, im not even gunna go into capitals ect. But generally, the less races you choose to train, the faster you will be more effective in the race you do choose. Surely you can see sense in that...?
Wouldn't it be a solution in such situations to start shooting at the drones? The myrm and vexor DPS would drop a lot, maybe enough to get away or kill one of them...
I considered it, but with the amount of drones currnetly on me, and how fast the vexor was dropping anyway, it was a logical choice to attempt a kill on the vexor, the myrm has enough drone bay to just keep throwing more at me, and the vexor (if packed with only lights n meds) could also field a few waves, more than enough for me.
Nah. Its eve online, Its very hard to explain what it is or what you do, but its basically a space game where you can do what you like, build/mine/manufacture/research/kill whatever. This is just some random combat within that game. Crazy I know.

No it wasnt, Did you check the killmails? they are avalable if you'd like. Ther person helping me was in a Pilgrim, and the guy we killed was in an Arbi. His friend was also in an Arbi.
When flying an assault frig I put on autotarget back to max, it will lock anything that locks you, including drones, meaning that i can deal with them. Drones vs frig = bad news.
Any faction but you want to focus at first on frigates, get tech 2 fitted in your frigate is a first. Make sure you look at the bonuses provided by the ship, and dont put weapons that arnt bonused on it. Ide start doing some missions in Highsec, Work your way up from there.

Your Ishkur fit needs some work, so does your management. You were trying to use auto-controls like orbit at that range with a frigate? The shame!
And what is up with only carrying one wing of drones? Ishkur should carry 10 hobgoblins or 5 hobgoblins and 5 warriors at all times.
Nothing special at all here, 3 tech 2 ships bearing down on 2 failfit tech 1 cruisers? Whether the people helping you were friends or not, this is not noteworthy. You wouldn't have died if you kept your head either.
On the 29 May 2008 I decided I would try PVP For the first time, this was the result, im sorry if I was not a perfect PVP'er by this stage, I had lost the second set of lights, and was not using auto controlls, just couldnt decide wether to get in close or stay at range, obviously keeping close would have been more beneficial to a blaster boat, and obviously you never go in with one set of drones.
No doubt in the course of a year you improve. I have PvP'd since 2003 and I still am better than I was a year ago.
Fair enough for losing the auxillary light drones, shit happens. I have killed some ishkurs that only fitted one wing of them.
You were using auto controls as I repeatedly saw you punching in orbit distances. Where as in Frigates & cruisers you always use manual, few exceptions. Unless you are in a inty orbitting a BS at 20km+ when theres no asteroids or stations to bump into.
Yeah, By doing it manually I guess you mean using the right click context menu and selecting an orbit distance? Cause I usually FC and dont have the time to be clicking a tight circle around a target to make some sort of weird makeshift orbit...
Oh and yeah, I still use that 'Auto' set of buttons with preset optimal for orbit distance and 1000km set on the keep at range as my 'get as far away as fast as possible' button.
... No manual control is double left clicking in space to manually move exactly where the ship goes. Auto controls are using presets like Orbit and Keep at Range. When your in a frigate these are unacceptable as you will get quite easily fucked by a competent player changing direction and speed.
I have made tackling frigs on auto-orbit crash into asteroids allowing me to insta pop them plenty of times.
Also the fit is still no good. Fit a small cap booster and never look back.
I sussed out the cap booster ages ago, it makes tanking easy, and meh, I usually do have a habit of using auto, but in situations where I know I can get caught out I have manually orbited, mainly when flying a Taranis.
Oh and also if you look at 2:48 there are drones out, and also 4 in the bay (Stacked as they havnt been launched yet) So I do have my aux drones, my bad.
Thanks for the advice but since weapon grouping has come out, I have weapons on F1, scram on F2, web on F3 and MWD on F4. Then other stuff scattered, I know all the shortcuts anyways.
You see he is targetting the main ship but he gets like 6 or 7 things targetted at once. Whats the point in that exactly? and there all the same, are they drones?
I wanted them locked up because the ship type he is flying uses mainly drones for damage, and energy vampires from the main ship, as my drones where smaller than his, they had no trouble gunning them down, thus reducing his damage to me.
A lot of it is deciding weather to fight or flee, however there are some finer points, such as if your in a smaller ship & your opponent is using large close range guns, orbiting really really close and tight will mean he cant hit you, yet you will still be able to pound him with your little guns, tracking & signature radius allows this. Many other things, but a lot of PVP is more about how you setup your ship & how you do what you are going to do, mostly comes down to situational improvisation.

However, my current CEO gives me 5% of the ISK on any kill I make solo as bounty,

Nah. Its eve online, Its very hard to explain what it is or what you do, but its basically a space game where you can do what you like, build/mine/manufacture/research/kill whatever. This is just some random combat within that game. Crazy I know.

No it wasnt, Did you check the killmails? they are avalable if you'd like. Ther person helping me was in a Pilgrim, and the guy we killed was in an Arbi. His friend was also in an Arbi.

When flying an assault frig I put on autotarget back to max, it will lock anything that locks you, including drones, meaning that i can deal with them. Drones vs frig = bad news.

Any faction but you want to focus at first on frigates, get tech 2 fitted in your frigate is a first. Make sure you look at the bonuses provided by the ship, and dont put weapons that arnt bonused on it. Ide start doing some missions in Highsec, Work your way up from there.

Your Ishkur fit needs some work, so does your management. You were trying to use auto-controls like orbit at that range with a frigate? The shame!
And what is up with only carrying one wing of drones? Ishkur should carry 10 hobgoblins or 5 hobgoblins and 5 warriors at all times.
Nothing special at all here, 3 tech 2 ships bearing down on 2 failfit tech 1 cruisers? Whether the people helping you were friends or not, this is not noteworthy. You wouldn't have died if you kept your head either.

On the 29 May 2008 I decided I would try PVP For the first time, this was the result, im sorry if I was not a perfect PVP'er by this stage, I had lost the second set of lights, and was not using auto controlls, just couldnt decide wether to get in close or stay at range, obviously keeping close would have been more beneficial to a blaster boat, and obviously you never go in with one set of drones.
Anyhow your opinion is your own.

No doubt in the course of a year you improve. I have PvP'd since 2003 and I still am better than I was a year ago.
Fair enough for losing the auxillary light drones, shit happens. I have killed some ishkurs that only fitted one wing of them.
You were using auto controls as I repeatedly saw you punching in orbit distances. Where as in Frigates & cruisers you always use manual, few exceptions. Unless you are in a inty orbitting a BS at 20km+ when theres no asteroids or stations to bump into.

Yeah, By doing it manually I guess you mean using the right click context menu and selecting an orbit distance? Cause I usually FC and dont have the time to be clicking a tight circle around a target to make some sort of weird makeshift orbit...
Oh and yeah, I still use that 'Auto' set of buttons with preset optimal for orbit distance and 1000km set on the keep at range as my 'get as far away as fast as possible' button.

... No manual control is double left clicking in space to manually move exactly where the ship goes. Auto controls are using presets like Orbit and Keep at Range. When your in a frigate these are unacceptable as you will get quite easily fucked by a competent player changing direction and speed.
I have made tackling frigs on auto-orbit crash into asteroids allowing me to insta pop them plenty of times.
Also the fit is still no good. Fit a small cap booster and never look back.

I sussed out the cap booster ages ago, it makes tanking easy, and meh, I usually do have a habit of using auto, but in situations where I know I can get caught out I have manually orbited, mainly when flying a Taranis.

Thanks for the advice but since weapon grouping has come out, I have weapons on F1, scram on F2, web on F3 and MWD on F4. Then other stuff scattered, I know all the shortcuts anyways.

Yes, they are his drones.
I wanted them locked up because the ship type he is flying uses mainly drones for damage, and energy vampires from the main ship, as my drones where smaller than his, they had no trouble gunning them down, thus reducing his damage to me.

A lot of it is deciding weather to fight or flee, however there are some finer points, such as if your in a smaller ship & your opponent is using large close range guns, orbiting really really close and tight will mean he cant hit you, yet you will still be able to pound him with your little guns, tracking & signature radius allows this. Many other things, but a lot of PVP is more about how you setup your ship & how you do what you are going to do, mostly comes down to situational improvisation.

It was the type of bounty where i went on chat and said if there was a merc corp, then contact me.. someone did.. the bounty was for 100mil i gave him 50mil.. then he killed you.. showed me kill mail then i gave him another 50mil.. thats what happened.. I did it cause you where ntrying to scam people in Amarr. nd then once in jita.. :P but, I'm over it now.
