All you people who claim to be Doctor Who fans: Stop fighting over who was the best Doctor or why DT "needs" to come back. If you really were a Doctor Who fan you'd have noticed by now how e-v-e-r-y s-i-n-g-l-e actor who has ever played the Doctor has been replaced. It's how the show works and it's why the show has survived. Just because you liked one Doctor over another doesn't mean you shouldn't give the new one a chance. We all miss DT, but have to be willing to be open for to MS, too.

*sigh* Don't take it as a prophecy for I really can't see the future - but I think, David should have done good to insist of a clause to return after one year off the show or so. I really understand his need to proceed and progress - but to me he's not the type of guy who closes doors forever.

It's "break canon", and that's the beauty of the Who dogma...they MAKE IT UP AS THEY GO ALONG! They can do whatever the hell they want. What would be REALLY cool is is they start making movies like Star Trek did, so you could have 'The Original Series' (Tennant), "The Next Generation:" (Smith), etc...

This is the only way they could lure a huge talent like Tennant back into his Who role. And it would do BANG-UP BOX OFFICE!

Still, sad to see him go, the Tenth Doctor is one of the best sci-fi heroes lately and a good refreshing break from Bill Adama and BSG (though that's good too, it's nice to not be down all the time).

David tennant has been rumoured to sign on for the 2010 season with steven moffatt, my guess is hell leave at 1. christmas 2010, 2. episode 13 of the 2010 series, i cant see him in 2011, however you never know, there are rumours that the christmas special or the last episode will be a movie and he'll regenerate then, however whoever the replacement will be has a very tough act to follow!
