Which one of these youn ladies are ...JACKIE LANDRYJackson? I so agree with whoever said THIS WAS THE GREATEST GIRL GROUP EVER.NO OTHER GROUP CAN T TOUCH ThEM!!! I LOVE THE THEY DRESS..CAN YOU THINK OF ANOTHER GROUP,THAT COPIED THEIR STYLE? (HINT,OUT OF MOTOWN)
Never heard of Richard Barrett but growing up in ELA in the 50's the Chantels was my fav all time girl groups. My 1st wife and I danced many times to their songs. Later in the 70's I was in a group that combined doo wop w. rock n roll. Our group was Ruben and the Jets and if you checked out some of our slow jams you can hear the doo wop influence. John
Richie was the BEST ! He had a gift. He met the Chantels, and I am sure he knew he found voices SENT from the Angels........ I was just a kid from Jersey City, and still love to hear his and theirs music ! I met Arlene Smith a couple of times and found she was simply a wonderful lady ! Most humble ! I'm 62 years old now and whenever I hear their music I am back to being a teenager !
Richard Barrett was one of the greats,as was George Goldner.
Between them and that great End label roster which included besides the Chantels, the Flamingos & Little Anthony & Imperials also, just has to be one of my favorite labels of all time.Thank you for this great classic!
Definitely a buried Gem. Chantels are still performing. Richard Barratt was a corner stone of many great groups like the 3 Degrees, Valentines, and def. Little Anthony & the Imperials who are also still doing their thing.... GREAT!
I agree with everyone else, this song has been a favorite for years, and like yourself, I cannot believe it did not chart MUCH higher!! I think I will post it on my channel. Thank you for sharing.
This is one of them treasures that only ones who were listening at this time (late 50's) know of. Not one of them so called "oldies but goodies" you hear everyday but the real thing.

@TheRayray482 Did Richard Barrett also write the Chantels' hit, "Look In My Eyes"? I think he did. That 's my favorite song of theirs.
