  • This comparison should be with an America vs a Sportster 883 NOT 1200! As the America is a 865, but no that wouldn't be fair on poor Harley! :D

  • Another stinkin Toyota commercial!

  • The America is only 865cc, maybe thats why its sounds different??

  • where do you live doessss plates are uggglllyyyy...

  • That was just so exciting I almost peed my pants!!!

  • Hate harleys all you want The rule rod just shot up and ride (japs.american v-twin rusian) just love all bikes

    ride ass hole ride

  • I like motorcycles whoever makes them, but the fact that Triumph decided to put FAKE carbs on their bikes purely for show kind of sucks I think.

  • I bet harley engineers would love to get rid of the 45 degree in the V - the bike would perform a lot better but would lose that harley sound - the harley faithful would never accept losing the sound so Harley is stuck with an inefficient engine - wh8ich is probably why they came up with the 90 degree V Buell which actually performs - Harleys; designed by plumbers for farmers to ride LOL

  • @ozbt63 "designed by plumbers for farmers to ride"... LOL!!! Awesome! Great quote. I heard something similar to that from a Vulcan rider describing HD's as well.

  • I was hoping they'd race.

  • harley owners are mostly a-holes.....they discourage me to buy a harley.

  • Brit Bikes rule

  • Well, I'm watching this video because of the Triumph.

  • i ride XL 1200S and have fallen in love with it. I haven't had the privilege to ride a bonneville yet.

  • i'd go for the triumph. i'm so sick of the V here and the V there. it's nice to see some other types of engine design.

  • Some very sad individuals on here...the Harley is a classic bike as is a Triumph, the Sportster has been going for over 50 years the new ones are very cool to ride, the triumph looks the part but sounds strange when stock, you can here it in the engine when he opens the throttle, but with custom pipes sounds unique. BOTH bikes are a HIT hence the Manufacturers have been going for so long, get over your petty differences and do what we all have in common, go out and ride you damn bike and enjoy!!

  • 2setters--he's in Chicago...works for ACORN.

  • I have an 06 XL1200R great ride, but I'm too big for it. I'm 6'4 and it feels like im on a little bike, not little as in no power, little as in small

  • i'm trying to pick one , 1200 hd or triumph america . i hear there is a price hike comming from harley . that would cinch it tward the triumph , but not if they follow suit a month or two later . if they do i'll buy used .

  • Triumph man.. honestly, HD.. sound and look nice, like you said, prices would be a hike.. and.. Triumph, well.. my whole family is a Triumph supporter (( the only motorbikes in the family are Triumph, other than our Yamaha dirtbikes )) and.. we've never had to regret one thing we've done for the bikes.. :) but, your pick. Good Luck. :D

  • I love both those bikes, but it happens that I have a 2004 XL1200R (Roadster) and I love it! Everything about it! I don't care if some bike's faster of whatever. Let's face it, this ain't no speed race or we'd all be riding hayakikabooses! Thanks!

  • A Triumph beats a Hardly-Ableto any time!

  • I have a harley but triumph bonnivelle rule proper. been trying to get one.

  • I helped some drunk biker up the other day. he almost went over a cliff driving drunk and on a big ass Road Glide he could barely ride. They should put all them guys on 125's until they learn to ride. Anyone that buys a Harley is searching, and can't get it.

  • Love my Triumph. I do however also own a HD Road King that is sweet. My Triumph has a place in my heart forever.

  • I have a stock '07 America and it sounds like a sewing machine. I have a set of custom-made slash-cut off-roads pipes on order and can't freakin' wait to get them on the bike.

That said, the Triumph is the sweetest bike I have ever owned and I have owned and ridden motorcycles for 34 years.

  • Triumph pwns all Harley's. O ya and RTS1957 dude you can modify the pipes like on any other bike. My Triumph America sounds like a beast.

  • both are complete stockers... & extremely too quite. Poor representations of both if you ask me.... put my buddy's 1200 Sporty w/ straight pipes & My Speedmaster w/ Sceptres in a vid like this & it'd be a whole other ball game....

    Trumpets Rule anyway!!

  • Well, this is a press test and we ride standard bikes. What you do is up to you. Have ridden both with replacement pipes and yes they do sound nicer then. I quite enjoyed the fact that the America is really quiet, particularly when doing a lot of miles.

  • @Kbassface Hey lets all stick an extension on our knobs and see who has the best. Does it make any difference what they sound like? Big pipes are for turning heads man, nothing else. Oh, and for giving you a headache. Good point, raptorama!!!

  • Harley sounds like a bike. Triumph sounds like a moped....really it does

  • Triumph kicks ass, Harley Davidson can kiss my ass.

  • Great comment!
