Negro is black in spainish; so really it was just a change in languages. Also Black is a Pan-National term used during the various independence movements in Africa and the Carribean. really??have u noticed that one of the consequences of not having "equal rights programs" would be the continuation of opportunities for those who have gained the most benefit from the advantage inequalities of the past provides?Dr. King would be disgusted by the realization that the economic gap between those of color and whites would take possibly another century or more to correct.these programs r there to aid those whose position in society was based on color- to correct for inequality.

Negro is black in spainish; so really it was just a change in languages. Also Black is a Pan-National term used during the various independence movements in Africa and the Carribean. Black gaining common usage throughout the colonized nations; negroe was seen as archaic, like Oriental and to some even backwards. But then again it could have to do with self-determination, blacks choosing what they wanted to be called; many theories and possiblities. Read a book it'll do you some good

Well that's funny about driving Bentleys bc everyone of these folks up here on the list I'm sure drives and lives in the best of the best. And I'm all for that. That's why ppl are knocking our borders down trying with their lives to get here. We are the last great hope for some of these folks. I don't see ppl going to China,Russia,Cuba, but i do see them trying for the US.

Oh I agree! My neighbor next door whom I've been friends with for over 20yrs has his own landscaping biz that probably emplyes 40 guys from Mexico and he's black. He often states that he'd hire americans black and white if they'd do the job the illegal does for half of what an american wants but he can't or he'd go broke and I do understand this.
