and thank you for blaming the economy on one man when it was the Bank's stupid fault for loaning money they didn't have, or the fact that Bush wasn't the one that screwed up the interest rates. Or the fact that when the war started a majority of the people approved it.
It's the president's job to regulate the oversight committee responsible for banking regulations, premium and normal stock trading, mortgage financing, etc.
His very Secretary of the Treasury was one of the single responsible characters for the current financial crisis.
Large movements of money have to be regulated, otherwise...
(take simple University Economics, even B,Ma., it teaches a lot!)
I´ve said this before, but when Obama wins - and he will, if he´s not assassinated before that - THE FIRST THING he should do is to make voting MANDATORY. As in "it is illegal NOT to vote".
TYT has a video about how republicans DEPEND on people NOT voting.
Nah. Not at all a good idea. In theory I like it, but the same thing will happen with the vote as happens with mandatory standardized tests. The smart people actually try, and get high scores, but the idiots who just want to be at home smoking weed just put a bunch of random answers in. Maybe even worse, someone who feels bullied into voting might vote for the more anti-social choices on purpose. Do you want that??
A better way is to abolish the secret ballot. Americans, be PROUD of you vote.
It´s funny how americans talk about "being at war". So, you go to some faraway country that has no chance of "competing" against you, - and you´re "at war"?
I have an idea. Try to invade Russia. Or China. Or better yet, you should experience a full-blown attack against ACTUAL USA SOIL. When was the last time THAT happened? Pearl Harbor?
Noooo... It´s always a tiny little place that has no chance of defending itself.
Vote for McCain. I want to see how LOW you can go.
Great comment. So I guess history only goes as far back as when you were born? And before that nothing happened? Do some research, son. The world is actually older than you. Which is what, by the way? 18? 20?
I´ll give you a hint, you fucking peasant. Type "winter war" in Wikipedia.
Lol, I saw that coming. I'm well aware of the Winter War. I give credit to those soldiers who fought out numbered by the Russians and managed amazing casualty rates on them (though Russians were never much as individual soldiers).
But that being said, that was a War on one Front. We managed WWII on two fronts, (Three, if you consider the defense against Jap bombing of California by balloon and attack on Alaska).
Hmm, running outa space. This argument may work better under message.
Fair is fair--as our system stands, the President (no matter how popular, or loathed) wields enormous power. It is very difficult for a simple majority in Congress to force the President to do anything. A two-thirds supermajority can write their own ticket, if they stand united. And I can hardly blame Congress for not doing the one thing that would work--namely, refuse to fund military operations in Iraq. In other words, abandoning the troops already there.
I get upset watching this stuff sometimes - then I realise I live in New Zealand, ahah - our disapproval rating would be higher. Still we feel the global effects and damn petrol is costly.
You must be some rich guy from Texas. Can you please explain to us dumb poor folk how you came up with that? We have a fucked up war, that I know you might want us to ignore, high ass gas prices that we can't ignore, and grocery bill that we can't afford. Know if your rich I see why this doen't bother you but for the majority of Americans, who don't live off $500,000 a year, it kinda makes it hard for us out here. Please give me a educated response Mr Dave98503.
there seems to be a lot of right wing conservatives with this kind of attitude. I go to a school with a lot of rich assholes and they think the same way. I by no means am rich either and people who say stuff like that piss me off! Larrylive explained it perfectly, how is Bush doing a great job?
Congressional Democrats let the Republicans break every record on the books for blocking legislation, while Bush blames "Congress" for not passing any legislation. They better smarten up!
Congress doesn't pass Bush's legislation because they see through the lies and fabricated truths, like his energy bill which puts more money into the oil companies but doesn't lower gas prices till 2030.
So, where's Obama - nowhere to be seen. Sadly Hillary might be right. If Obama is not going to step in and say what needs to be said, especially when the kinder, gentler Hillary declares she won't - then who the heck will?
ahhhh good catch but that still means that 10% can go either way so its still lower than 29% becaus not all of the 79% approve. Either way hes a horrible president and a war mongerer.
Turk is absolutely right about how the dems did a shitty job in congress. Congress really makes the decisions because they control who gets the money. They should of cut of Bush the MOMENT he requested more money for Iraq. It's not that hard! Unless they're paid of or something.
the decrease in violence was because of the ceasefire and the fact that they were literally bribing the insurgents, it had nothing to do with the fucking "surge"
Ohhh, I thought that it was going to be about the number of vacation days he's taken. Or has he already shattered that mark?
It is sad that the Democrats couldn't do anything against the Worst President of All Time. But some of the blame has to go to the Republican Congress. They're there to be our voice and obviously the Republican Congress Persons are ignoring our voices and just being partisan out of spite.
The democrats allowed him to do what he wanted as they believed taht if they prevent him from continuing this crap, the US would be fucked. The problem is they're already fucked
I really don't know what's going on and why mccain is so popular despite these disapproving polls of Bush, war, blah blah... Apparently the American people are the stupidest people on the planet if they can't put 2 and 2 together.. "ok, I hate Bush and the war but... I vote for mccain yay!!!" Why? Coz he looks like a "cute" albino prune? I mean what the fuck??!
Thumbs up if you think you'd make a better president.
