When I reached this stage of the game and the music kicked in, man, nostalgia doesn't do it justice. I put down my controller and spent a few seconds trying to hold back the tears, which turned out to be a futile effort, of course. This was the second time I ever shed tears to a videogame, the first being the ending of MGS3.

I then picked up my controller and inspected very nook and cranny of the place, reliving memories of my childhood as I quoted word by word the in-game flashbacks.

When i was a kid the first metal gear solid was my reason for loving my playstation, yrs pass and seeing the old generation to new and improved generations just makes u remember the best old days. Is it just me or did anyone else get slightly teary-eyed passing through these Shadow Moses levels again? I kept remembering the first MGS game and how amazed I was at the scope of the level and how much fun I was having and such. Passing through this level of this game made me miss the original game more and how epic it was when I first played it. Hideo did such a beautiful job of adding this level again and certainly was very nostalgic. Great video by the way. :)

@FreemanVonDon Hmm, good question. It isn't said what Snake really thinks but it's tend to believe that he too thinks nostalgically of Shadow Moses as he was younger and fitter and such. Who knows? Sure it's not canon but it's nice to think that Snake did in fact think fondly of his first trip to Shadow Moses.

I almost cried the first time I went to Shadow Moses Island on MGS1. The music plus the atmosphere of it plus exploring it made it a well worth gaming experience :) .Truly a fanservice to the MGS fans of the first game on PS1.

Durring the flashback sequence when Snake is dreaming/reliving the flashback sequence, I went into the truck (the one in front of the heliport naturally) expecting the item behind the box to be there..was kinda disappointed that it wasn't and it still kinda bugs me..lol.....I wish you also had use of the scope.....I remember playing around with that thing because I had no clue what to do at first...
