Cuckoo's Nest is a well known tune throughout England. Stylistically it would normally be played a lot closer to the way Ed Haley played it - certainly in the past - but Morris versions of common dance tunes are usually very idiosyncratic due to the nature of the dances.
Grebo54: yes, I'd agree with that. Hebden Bridge is one of the few places in the north of England where there is an artists' community, and this guy Paul Roberts has, from what I can make out, been playing this morris music for many decades. So I think we have the real thing here, according to local morris tradition.
Is that a cremona fiddle. It looks like one I'm thinking about getting.
