Lo que más me da lata es que, claro, ahora todo el mundo alaba el Metal ULTRA PLAGIO a Meshuggah (el Math-Djent) con bandas tipo Periphery, Tesseract, Four Question's Marks, Uneven, etc... siendo que Coprofago logró, claramente, un estilo realmente ÚNICO tomando simples influencias de Meshuggah y sus contemporaneos... para mí siguen siendo lo más grande ya que realmente se distinguen entre los demás. Coprofago y Mar de Grises RULZ!!!!!!!!

Pero estos tipos están en un nivel superior, no suenan como una copia de sino que se apoderaron del estilo para crear algo único.

Si te fijas hoy en día disponemos de muchas bandas que siguen el estilo las cuales deslumbran por su estructura progresiva, técnicas y sonidos "abstractos"... pero de todo el lote cuantas realmente tienen un sonido propio dentro del mismo? ves que veo bandas "Djently" (termino que detesto) escucho a una banda exactamente igual que su antecesora y así consecutivamente... ese sonido "agringado/británico" que TODOS tienen (menos Coprofago ♥).

Yo escuche primero a Coprofago y después a Messhugah juzgan por una canción no ma wn.

Coprofago es mucho mas jazz que Messhugah, son bandas muy diferentes. Juzgan por la pura voz no mas, cuando ay miles de bandas que cantan con ese mismo estilo vocal un ejemplo de ello es Capharnaum y aun así Coprofago tiene una segunda voz gutural mas grave.

Coprofago es sin duda una de las bandas de mayor calibre que ha engendrado este pais lleno de las mismas cagás repetitivas de siempre... de los pocos que lucharon por salir de los canones que estigmatizan al metal y triunfaron en el extranjero... I read once on an interview (in spanish) that they were really young when they decided to go with that that name, school kids. They thought that it was cool, at the time... even when it didn't had any relation with their music.

So when you listen to Coprofago you (usually... smartass) tag them as Death/Jazz Metal and if you dig the style you (almost, supposing that yer intelligence quotient is over 85) immediately think on Cynic, that's what we call "Influences".

Sorry, but Watchtower was the first of all the tech/prog/jazz with metal and Cynic/Focus did not influence them at all. By the time Focus came out, Watchtower was disbaned/inactive for almost 4 years. Listen to"Life Cycles" from Watchtower and you'll get from where almost all the basics ideas of Focus came out.

i think it is related to cynic becouse of the more death metalish parts of the cynic songs, with the long chords and the fingertapping. both bands are progressive but the more deathmetallish parts in cynic songs are not really what cynic makes cynic, it's the easy parts, in my opinion. zo i guess that's where the misunderstanding op the comparrison commes from. both great bands though
