They have reached out and touched millions of people. In fact, while the Catholic Church (unique only to its Roman-Italian culture) has had controversy within its ranks of Priests, the EOTC has had faithful Abunas and Priests. Once u say "true" church, you marginalize the belief of the Most High.

I do not understand a word of what this song is about, but i love it very much - it is sort of a cry from the heart or something; I love nearly all the Ethopian church music on youtube, it is fantastic. Wish I could buy some CDs of it and not have to rely on Youtube . I have visited Ethiopia and fell in love with the country and helped my church guide to build a house there.

I was saying that race does matter, if it didn't than we would not have the issues that we have today. It doesn't matter to me or to my family but it is what it is!
Race is a difficult and painful issue in the USA and we understand that. However in the Ethiopian orthodox church and in the orthodox church in general we consider race irrelevant both historically and theologically. We are one family in His blood.
What matter the most is not the colour of His skin but what he has done for us. He died for us, he paid for our sins. Salvation is a gift of God to all of us, it's up to us to accept it or not. Let today be the day we repent of our sins and live a true Christian life.

Now we are talking man. For your info, I lived all my life (38 years) in Ethiopia, our blessed land. Ethiopia = from Greek, means burnt face people. Its ancient name, Abyssinia = mixed people. We call ourselves 'Habesha'. And in some of our ancient Orthodox churches Jesus', St. Mary's & even the angels' pictures have 'Ethiopian faces', eye color and hair. In the Bible, 1 of the 4 rivers of Eden Garden is Ghion (Blue Nile), Genesis 2:13. I agree, even Adam & Eve could have had 'Ethiopian faces'.
Ethiopia has been against early forced occupations and that is why it is still preserved. As to my knowledge, we have Abyssinian history dating back to 3000 years (1000 years B.C.), and old is our belief in the Old Testament. Christianity came to Ethiopia later on. Adam's black color would be more convincing than Jesus' to me.
Whatever the colors, we live Jesus' exemplary life, believe in God, and the Holy Spirit.

I feel like this, if race didn't matter than everyone especially in the white churches and the black churches change the look of the white skinned jesus to a dark skinned and see what happens. Believe me, it won't be a pretty picture and that's a fact!

Hey, Jesus was born to a middle eastern but adored us (there is a reason for that btw)& we believe that we are spiritually brothers and sisters and nothing compromises that..no place for racism in Orthodox church anywhere in the world.
Those things are artificial. There are so many sad incidents in the history of Earth. Bless you!

you missed my point entirely. I love this video; I think I even commented on how pretty that one girl singing was.
I was saying that race does matter, if it didn't than we would not have the issues that we have today. It doesn't matter to me or to my family but it is what it is!

Race is a difficult and painful issue in the USA and we understand that. However in the Ethiopian orthodox church and in the orthodox church in general we consider race irrelevant both historically and theologically. We are one family in His blood.

What matter the most is not the colour of His skin but what he has done for us. He died for us, he paid for our sins. Salvation is a gift of God to all of us, it's up to us to accept it or not. Let today be the day we repent of our sins and live a true Christian life.

if color doesn't matter, then why did it matter to the artist. the only white people on this whole plant are Europeans that migrated. Majority of the world is black. the first human was a woman's bones found in Ithiopian. so how was "Jesus" a white man. This has to be one if the biggest lies ever told.

Im sure if people from my father's village in Spain made a video of one of their christian festivities, there wouldnt insert the biblical images typical from Ethiopia, with beautiful Black faces. So what sense does it makes for this video of traditional Ethiopian celebration to have typical european paintings with white faces.
AT some point, it doesnt matter so much Jesus' color, but its logical that every People picture Him in his image, not different

Ya, as a flesh, Jesus had an identity, and that was as a Middle East man. His Mother St. Mary belongs to there, and not to Africa. He could have only her color. She has fled with him to Egypt and Ethiopia during his childhood. And we never said Jesus hs an Ethiopian color, which never matters.

Yeshua's identity was a humble righteous man who KNEW that Jah is within ALL FLEASH. We are ALL children of the Most High.
Why did Jah tell mary to flee to Kemet (Egypt)?? Because Plait was killing all infants born in Bethlehem. So they fled to Kemet to BLEND in and hide. How can a white person blend in or hide in a land full of Black people?

What does Ethiopia means?
what does Kemet (Egypt) means?
What about Niger (Country in Africa)?
What about Nigeria (also in Africa)?
Egypt (meaning bondage/slavery) was given 2 Kemet after the Hittites (White people)invaded and took over.

Now we are talking man. For your info, I lived all my life (38 years) in Ethiopia, our blessed land. Ethiopia = from Greek, means burnt face people. Its ancient name, Abyssinia = mixed people. We call ourselves 'Habesha'. And in some of our ancient Orthodox churches Jesus', St. Mary's & even the angels' pictures have 'Ethiopian faces', eye color and hair. In the Bible, 1 of the 4 rivers of Eden Garden is Ghion (Blue Nile), Genesis 2:13. I agree, even Adam & Eve could have had 'Ethiopian faces'.

Ethiopia has been against early forced occupations and that is why it is still preserved. As to my knowledge, we have Abyssinian history dating back to 3000 years (1000 years B.C.), and old is our belief in the Old Testament. Christianity came to Ethiopia later on. Adam's black color would be more convincing than Jesus' to me.
Whatever the colors, we live Jesus' exemplary life, believe in God, and the Holy Spirit.

It is wonderful to see The Ethiopian Orthodox Church giving such glory to ELOHIM*** . It will be great if the church gets out of politics that made it to creat mythology. Annual holiday, cultural, and burial time christians should not be considered as Christians while they are in the world and don't believe that they are piligrims passing by to eternity. Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord.
