  • Greetings from Czech republic, God bless u!

  • How could this be the true Church when it won't even come out of its own culture and reach out to the rest of the world... The true Church is catholic (universal), not some obscure faith familiar only to a few people...

  • @samuellawless1 Come out of its own culture? Do you know that there are countless EOTChurches all over the world? In the islands, in other parts of Africa, all over the U.S.? They have reached out and touched millions of people. In fact, while the Catholic Church (unique only to its Roman-Italian culture) has had controversy within its ranks of Priests, the EOTC has had faithful Abunas and Priests. Once u say "true" church, you marginalize the belief of the Most High.

  • @samuellawless1 don't be ridicolous

  • besma ab wa weld wa menfes qaddus!

what a beautiful langiuge... maybe this is Geez!?

I am European but I speak Arabic and I can understand these words...it is so similar to: bismi-l-abi wa-l-ibni(walad) wa - r- ruhi (nafs) al-qudus!

Since Geez is semitic language it is very close to Hebrew , Aramaic and Arabic...

  • This is Amharic but along with Tigrinya it is a descendant of the ancient language of Geez.

Geez, Tigrinya, Amharic, Hebrew and Arabic are the Semetic languages. :)

    God Keep you always.

  • What a surprise! I was thinking that Orthodox Christian means the same thing with Byzantine Christian, but this music is not Byzantine (the kind of music that you listen in Greek, Russian, Romanian, Serbian, Bulgarian and other Eastern European Orthodox Christian churches .

Well, today I've learned something new!

The Orthodoxy is a variate spectacle!

  • I do not understand a word of what this song is about, but i love it very much - it is sort of a cry from the heart or something; I love nearly all the Ethopian church music on youtube, it is fantastic. Wish I could buy some CDs of it and not have to rely on Youtube . I have visited Ethiopia and fell in love with the country and helped my church guide to build a house there.

  • Our Orthodox Brothers :) i love this music hehe its relaxing you. All religions are ok, but specialy ours Orthodox because Orthodox means "Old religion" or not changed religion. In christ

    Tsega_ze_Ab

  • It doesn't matter what race our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ was.

He came to suffer for our sins so that we may be saved.

Obviously He was born in the Middle East so thats what color. Not that it matters at all. He didn't come so that people could argue about what color He was.

    Thanks for posting this video!!

Sibhat Le Exhabihare! [ Glory be to God]

  • I feel like this, if race didn't matter than everyone especially in the white churches and the black churches change the look of the white skinned jesus to a dark skinned and see what happens. Believe me, it won't be a pretty picture and that's a fact!

  • Hey, Jesus was born to a middle eastern but adored us (there is a reason for that btw)& we believe that we are spiritually brothers and sisters and nothing compromises that..no place for racism in Orthodox church anywhere in the world.

Those things are artificial. There are so many sad incidents in the history of Earth. Bless you!

  • you missed my point entirely. I love this video; I think I even commented on how pretty that one girl singing was.

I was saying that race does matter, if it didn't than we would not have the issues that we have today. It doesn't matter to me or to my family but it is what it is!

  • trueyou2:

Race is a difficult and painful issue in the USA and we understand that. However in the Ethiopian orthodox church and in the orthodox church in general we consider race irrelevant both historically and theologically. We are one family in His blood.

    Your Brother In Christ,

    Tsega-Ze-Ab

  • What matter the most is not the colour of His skin but what he has done for us. He died for us, he paid for our sins. Salvation is a gift of God to all of us, it's up to us to accept it or not. Let today be the day we repent of our sins and live a true Christian life.

  • amennnnn

  • if color doesn't matter, then why did it matter to the artist. the only white people on this whole plant are Europeans that migrated. Majority of the world is black. the first human was a woman's bones found in Ithiopian. so how was "Jesus" a white man. This has to be one if the biggest lies ever told.

    PEACE and BLESSINGS

  • amen from canada

  • I'm Italian but I love Ethiopian Orthodox music!!! Simply amazing!

  • betam qongo exiabare yemesgen AMEN!!!!!

  • Im sure if people from my father's village in Spain made a video of one of their christian festivities, there wouldnt insert the biblical images typical from Ethiopia, with beautiful Black faces. So what sense does it makes for this video of traditional Ethiopian celebration to have typical european paintings with white faces.

AT some point, it doesnt matter so much Jesus' color, but its logical that every People picture Him in his image, not different

Beautiful video, thank you for sharing.

  • iN FACT IT IS NOT A MATTER OF COOLOUR FACES. THAT JUST A WAY OF PRAYING JESUS AND GOD..SO IF THERE ARE SOME REPRESENTATION OF GOD IN BLACK, RED , YELLOW OR MIXTING COLOUR- IT IS NOT A DEAL! WHAT'S IMPORTNAT IS THAT WE ALL TOGETHER UNITED THANK GOD AND BLESS HIS PEOPLE- GOD BLESS ETHIOPIAN AND EVERY NATION OF GOOD BEHAVIOUR PEOPLE!

  • Why are there pictures of a WHITE Jesus (Yeshua) in Africa???????

This is a beautiful song. I can play this on repeat all day/night.

  • Because Jesus was born in Bethelehem, and the people there are white, not Africans. Don't forget, it is Jesus Christ our lord, and no joke about him. God bless.

  • Yes, the people there now are white.

The white people in America call themselves "Americans" when the TRUE "AMERICAN" are the Native AMERICANS. same concept. Please dont challenge me unless you have a VERY STRONG point. Right now you argument is weak. If Yeshua's way of life is your religion then skin color shouldn't matter. RIGHT??

some of you Christians (mostly in America and Europe) are very funny with your logic. You believe in the LEGEND of Yeshua.

    Knowledge Is Golden, Remember that!!

  • You seem to conclude opinions premature. You don't even know from where I am. And no need to say..."you Christians". First u need to know who you are...if you are a believer, and no expression of hatred.

Ya, as a flesh, Jesus had an identity, and that was as a Middle East man. His Mother St. Mary belongs to there, and not to Africa. He could have only her color. She has fled with him to Egypt and Ethiopia during his childhood. And we never said Jesus hs an Ethiopian color, which never matters.

  • Yeshua's identity was a humble righteous man who KNEW that Jah is within ALL FLEASH. We are ALL children of the Most High.

Why did Jah tell mary to flee to Kemet (Egypt)?? Because Plait was killing all infants born in Bethlehem. So they fled to Kemet to BLEND in and hide. How can a white person blend in or hide in a land full of Black people?

Jah know still. Brother, I know who I am and where Im from. The question is when r u going to find the truth for yourself

    Jah Live

    Peace and Blessing

  • What does Ethiopia means?

    what does Kemet (Egypt) means?

What about Niger (Country in Africa)?

What about Nigeria (also in Africa)?

Egypt (meaning bondage/slavery) was given 2 Kemet after the Hittites (White people)invaded and took over.

Please write back with the meaning of the words (it might open your eyes a little)

I see that the I lives in Switzerland. I bet its beautiful over there. Write back and please stay n touch FRIEND.

    Peace and Blessings

    Selassie I Jah Rastafari

    One Luv

  • Now we are talking man. For your info, I lived all my life (38 years) in Ethiopia, our blessed land. Ethiopia = from Greek, means burnt face people. Its ancient name, Abyssinia = mixed people. We call ourselves 'Habesha'. And in some of our ancient Orthodox churches Jesus', St. Mary's & even the angels' pictures have 'Ethiopian faces', eye color and hair. In the Bible, 1 of the 4 rivers of Eden Garden is Ghion (Blue Nile), Genesis 2:13. I agree, even Adam & Eve could have had 'Ethiopian faces'.

  • Ethiopia has been against early forced occupations and that is why it is still preserved. As to my knowledge, we have Abyssinian history dating back to 3000 years (1000 years B.C.), and old is our belief in the Old Testament. Christianity came to Ethiopia later on. Adam's black color would be more convincing than Jesus' to me.

Whatever the colors, we live Jesus' exemplary life, believe in God, and the Holy Spirit.

God bless you, and our people all over the globe.

  • How lovely, we will all one day sing as one nation, language, tongue. We are all God children, for all over this world.

  • thank you god for this beautiful music and god bless every one and of course my home land Ethiopia

  • absolutely wonderful! If God wants I will go to Ethiopia soon for a couple of months to conduce a small research on the debteras. I hope I can purchase one cd of this singer. Greatings and appreciacion for your beautiful songs and culture from Italy/sweden

  • Thank you for posting.

  • It is wonderful to see The Ethiopian Orthodox Church giving such glory to ELOHIM*** . It will be great if the church gets out of politics that made it to creat mythology. Annual holiday, cultural, and burial time christians should not be considered as Christians while they are in the world and don't believe that they are piligrims passing by to eternity. Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord.

  • one of the Best Ethiopian orthodox church song singer," Zemari Mirtenesh Telahun. Song( seregelawoche Ye Esat Nachew).
