Actually, it depends on which region of Egypt you're from. Pure Turkish instruments(before Islam) were different, belly dancing came from Egypt but then spread and along with it the music. Turkish belly dance is not as entriquet as the Egyptian style.. but sa3eedi is up-beat.
If you read through the comments, there is a lot of negativity directed at this dancer. Now, I'm not about to say she's the best I've ever seen but she really isn't that bad. There are many ways to perform belly dancing, so a little creative leeway should be allowed. However, I AM sick of all the comments from people who say "well I'm a real belly dancer and she stinks" or some other such tripe...tell all of you what..if you are such a better dancer, than prove it...otherwise, shut it.
Love Love Love the music. Arab dancers, espacially Lebanese dance fast and match the rhythm more than the melody. She is less experienced and probably not a top tier dancer, but better than some I have seen in Lebanon. The audience love her though, the video taping is cool.
She still sucks; she is making up her movements as it goes, and it doesn't really go with the music, especially starting from 6:26. Also, she did not close her mouth the whole time, it's good to smile but I think she was exhausted. And what's with all that hair touching?

You actually like Didem over this? Sorry but at least this girl knows how to smile and can think of more than 2 moves. She's not much better than Didem in the grace department but at least she doesn't look like a flailing, angsty, 13 year old in her Mom's high heels. This girl has personality & body fat. She dances like she has little or no training but I prefer it to cold and calculated boredom by Didem. (This is assuming you're talking about Didem the Turkish dancer that is all over you tube.)

I'm a belly dancer, too. No, she's not good but she is doing belly dance. It's how they dance in Lebanon and most girls without training dance a lot like that at home with their friends. It's just untrained belly dance but belly dance none the less. I've seen lots of stuff on here that isn't but she is belly dancing in this video. It's just not the best.
the costume is really beautiful, the colors are rich and go good together, and the beaded design is really pretty. It looks expensive. And i think her dancing is good too. the editing of the video was probably fun too.

I think she tried to copy Maya's style (Maya Abi Saad). She poses the exact way, body posture and final spins belong to that unique wonderful Maya's style. Bad copy anyways...she's just a copy and didn't perform well. She's out of rhythm (as some other people posted here- a agree)
i know this is a bit not related, but assuming she's in saudi arabia, wouldn't belly dancing there be banned? I know that it is a islamic region and that they're very strict about the dress codes and wahtnot. o_o;;
