I was born in 1991, and because my mum loves the old school rock, like led zeppelin, deep purple, johnny cash and some more, and my dad likes frank zappa, the clash and many more, i also prefere these Bands, but I also like "newer" bands, like german punk bands from the 80's (i don't think anyone of you know anyone of them), oder pagan metal bands from finnland or such stuff, but the "modern bands of today", which are also in the charts, are horrible, I don't like it.
This was and still is my favorite band. I am and shall forever be grateful to have seen and heard the music of the 60's and 70's. I lived and breathed this time of long haired hippie freaks. We did it our way and we did have fun. Now I sing and tell my stories(most of them :) )to my grandchildren.

There's plenty of good, new, non commercial music with integrity. You just have to work to find it. Some of the better ones: Dex Romweber Duo, The King Khan & BBQ Show, Carbon/Silicon, Fucked Up, The Features, The Rakes, Cheeseburger, The Muffs, Those Darlins, 1990s (the band, not the decade), Reigning Sound, The Briefs, The Clutters, The Hellacopters (taking a break?), The Paybacks, Thee Oh Sees, The Visitors, Throw Rag, The Dexateens, The Deadstring Brothers, Heavy Trash and so on and so on.
i personally dont think all of todays music is crap. Its just really hard to find good bands now days but they're still out. Its just not easy to find. But i guess who can beat CCR!!!!!!!!!
how ace is creedence??? i've been listening to them since i was a kid and i'm only in my 20's now!!!! creedence are timeless!!! and yes today's music is ******
I was born in 1995- about 30 years too late, if you ask me. I missed out on all the awesome music and culture and have to put up with all the crap music out today. Rock and Roll all the way!
creedence is awesome! but i would have to say my favorite band of all time is THE BEATLES! but most music these days sucks. i do like country but it aint no JOHNNY CASH! and rap, ha rap just sucks!
@Austin110392 yeah dude its either the same kid or a few different ones going around to all the CCR songs. Hes a total tool dude. We dont want to know your fucking life story, just comment on how great the god damn song is, shit. Anyway, good post haha
I don't call today's stuff music. I call it man made manufactured shit to make a quick buck. Seriously why don't people try to make good music anymore? This song though is awesome and the riff is amazing.
I could'nt agree more.I was born in 1933,and with a few exceptions, today's music is crap.I suppose however that each generation has said much the same thing.I'm still right though.
Rap is like most form of music. There's some good, some bad. It's not like Country, which is ALL bad. LOL!
Kidding...some of the women of Country are ok...but today's male Country singers flat-out suck. Gone are the Johnny Cash days. Today's country is all about God, beer, pick-up trucks and the good ol' US of A!
@Cainefan I was born in 1996 and HATE all of todays music. My whole life I have been listening to bands like creedence, the who and the beatles. It's a shame how bad music has become in 50 years. I just bought a johnny cash cd and compared to country singers today, like bob dylans son, theres no comparrison. I agree 100%
@rockstar96144 I agree with you, but its only been 40 years sense this particular song came out and I believe that a lot of 80's music also has the soul and skill involved. Its more like the last 20-25 years the industry has gone to shit, just my opinion. Long live real, great music.
@rockstar96144 Born in 1991, raised with Alice Cooper, Status qou, Queen, Golden earring etc etc, at high school got some new friends and started to listen Hardcore... until i thoughd wait a min, if there was no Rock 'n Roll there was no Hardcore! now a day its Rap,Hip Hop, trance, hardstyle... were is the good oldschool rock gone?? i can't recall that i'am playing hide and seek with it... if you guys found it, call 026-ROCKON!!!!!!
@rockstar96144 i could not agree more man i was born in 96 and todays music like rap and all that is CRAP. CCR, The Beatles The Rolling Stones The Who Led Zeppelin The Lovin Spoonful The Swinging Blue Jeans The Beach Boys The Animals The Box Tops... now that is what good music is like. Long Live Rock And Roll!!!
@rockstar96144 eh, I was born in '96, and I do like some older music like this, but music has not gotten bad, its just the popular music that is, relient k is probably the best band out, my favorite band was capital lights (whom released a song called "work it out", that finally made me decide that it was my favorite song, which I have never done before.)
I think older popular music can be just as bad as todays.... you just gotta look for good music, check out relient k and capital lights.
@Cainefan Wrong. Country music has always been the same. You always lose your dog, truck, woman and these days your job. Thats the real strugle. Its called life. And if beer and old people come into play even better. You will this as you grow. Hell yeh country music, and thank God for CCR who embraces it and can do it even better. And PS if the good ol' USA botthers you so much then exit stage right and peace out!!!
@madpegg Country is not the same as it once was. Pandering more now than ever. If you think they have anything different or profound to say about beer, pick-up trucks or our country, your easily impressed. Creedence embraced the Country music of Hank Williams Sr, not Junior. Oh, and I like MY country fine, which is why I served it in the US Army. I have a problem with singers using patriotism as an obvious gimmick...and people like you who think they can decide who should "exit stage right".
Instead of simply appreciating the song, you're all arguing about rap. Maybe that's why there's a "decline" in good stuff... because none of you take the time to just ENJOY it.
don't pretend to hate rap because you hate blacks and dont want admit it. good rap takes takes pure talent like my man John Fogerty has. try a little Gangstarr on for size, open your mind and you'll pick up what i'm throwing down.
@cahoon7 : White people sound just as stupid as blacks do when they rap. I've read and watched enough about rap to know it is a cultural phenomenon, but not true art. It doesn't take anything but a smart mouth to make rap.
@rofldood1ALT Exactly The point you made earlier, its destroying our youth. poor kids, the only reason they listen to the shit is because they see all their dumbass friends listening to it!
@The777JesusFreak Hey man,it was really great growing up in the 60s and 70s,if i could jump into a time machine i would go back in a second.Loved the music, and the cars the most
Crazy in the 60s, 10 years before, Elvis the King of Pop..(Known has The King of Rock) but popped, thats why they call him the King of Pop, until MJ came in the pic..they changed it :D.
This is the third record I ever bought with my own 99 cents. I loved it when I was 15 and I love it today. CCR is arguably the best American act of all time right up there with The Doors, CSN&Y, Three Dog Night, Bruce Springsteen, Alice Cooper, Tom Petty & The Heart Breakers, Frank Zappa & the Mothers of Invention, The Shangrilas, the Beach Boys, Temptations, Supremes, Marvin Gaye, Stevie Wonder, Grateful Dead, Jeffersion Airplane, the Byrds, the Turtles, Mamas & Pappas + Steppenwolf.
@JoeDizzle15 what about the old school hip-hop?like de la soul and pharcyde and the likes? they are pretty talented and they rap about bitches and ho`s and that shit
best. band. ever. there will never be another band like this. they made songs that people loved around the globe. they soothed peoples feelings about vietnam.
Ha now imagine listening to this song while in vietnam holding your M16 shooting vietkong as there running. A chopper flies overhead with a gunner yelling get in the CHOPPAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
@Fallen79360 That would be intense. I wouldn't want to be in a war (who does?), but if I were I'd need music to get me pumped up enough to do what I had to.
@xXP3CXx ha because this song was made during Nam i mean it can be in iraq i was just sayin like put urself in the position on the marines in vietnam when this song was made
There's a place up ahead and I'm goin' just as fast as my feet can fly, come away, come away if ya goin' leave the sinkin' ship behind! Come on the arising wind, come up around the bend!
I was raised right! Listening to CCR and all the truley gifted and talented bands! Jefferson Airplane/Starship/Boston/LS! All of the really good music that they don't make anymore! Thanks for posting!
who was the bright spark that labeled this video with a violation???

CCR is arguably the best American act of all time right up there with The Doors, CSN&Y, Three Dog Night, Bruce Springsteen, Alice Cooper, Tom Petty & The Heart Breakers, Frank Zappa & the Mothers of Invention, The Shangrilas, the Beach Boys, Temptations, Supremes, Marvin Gaye, Stevie Wonder, Grateful Dead, Jeffersion Airplane, the Byrds, the Turtles, Mamas & Pappas + Steppenwolf.

This was the first single I ever bought with my own money. It had "Run through the Jungle" on the B-side. Money well-spent.

CCR is sweet. :)
They seem to like using prepositions in their song titles and talking about angles - "Down On The Corner," "Up Around the Bend."

This is being played at my funeral,"come on the rising wind"
pete7356 1 year ago
@Fallen79360 That would be intense. I wouldn't want to be in a war (who does?), but if I were I'd need music to get me pumped up enough to do what I had to.
