how the bloody fuck do i kill a ghost? i shoot it, it falls, but it raises back up after a while. and when a load of fat mines cant dismember that motherfucker, theres not much left to do.
I loved the story and the depth of the characters, but I found the overall DLC to be a string of tediousness. I couldn't wait to get out of there by the end of it, especially after all the trial and error.
Honest Hearts looks the best to me but thats just my opinion. I'm into native "American" stuff and spirituality so that fits well with my interests. This doesn't look like the type of game I would like, I hate horror survival style games where I get shocked by things popping out.
This game gets a lot of bad reviews because of the ridiculous difficulty, but if you are clever enough, you can make up to over 300,000 caps off of the final quest, so in my opinion, it is well worth the challenge.
I stopped playing on my 360 several months ago and migrated to the ps3, but when I heard that plop sound at 5:03 I still looked at my TV expecting a message :/
@kafdunapa what was your dialogue even though i protected dean's ass the entire time, he accused me of stealing and became hostile. I fuckin hated Dean and Dog. They somehow made a mute more interesting than a goddamn supermutant -.-"
hmm just bought the DLC now (bit late eh?) sadly i only find the game interesting on hardcore mode (i used a mod similar in FO3 to ramp the difficulty up)
guess im gonna get my moneys worth of deaths out of this one =D
When Ed-e left me, and I finished the DLC, I went to Primm to find that he was hostile and had killed the Nash family, almost killing me (I upgraded his weapon through his quest) D:
im already a level 30 and im just wondering if i will be punished for being such a high level and not being able to get all or most of the new good perks
the only problem is tha obsidian made it essentialy unplayable for lots of people because of bugs.
Obsidian needs to take page out of blizzards book and to a bit more quality control beforer they release their games... i mean they should have learnt that from new vegas or the other games they have screwed up initialy.... they just suck at quality control....
I bought the US version of the DLC and i live in Canada. I'm so pissed. It said FRENCH version so i thought that ment for the french language. Not CANADA. Fuck me
I noticed in one of your earlier videos you claimed to find Educated superior to Comprehension, and I wondered if you might have overlooked a major benefit of it. Sure you have to find every skill book in the game to reach an end benefit even similar to that of Educated, but the real plus is how much Comprehension opens up your skill points AS you level up. By doubling the value of magazines it makes it so you can leave most necessity skills 20 whole points under their target values. This = win.
nice guide man, i also make fallout new veghas guides. I would really like your opinion on my guides because you make very nice walkthroughs to the secrets.
What I heard "might" be the next dlc the burning man dlc, and the divide dlc because the dived and big empty are right next to each other and if u want some proof the is some graphitte in canyon wreckage and som graphitte talking about Joshua graham(first legate)
Professional review although wayyyy more positive than I would have been. I felt the main thing about the DLC was to frustrate me, which after a while was more than annoying! I just hope the next DLC is fun like 'Mothership Zeta' was for F3.
The big empty and the great divide are all in one dlc called honest hearts(was found in game files right next to dead money) I think Ulysses courier six was the courier you play as is his son because some lady tells you that you had got somebody pregnant sone years back before the bombs fell look it up it's interesting
@214campos all they found was some graffiti files named "Honest Hearts", and the specific quotes on the graffiti files were "Where's New Cannan Anyway?" "The Burned Man Walks" and "Joshua Graham Lives." That is it. Everything you've written wildly speculative and inaccurate.
@ThatAverageGatsby noooo they found the name honest hearts and some other letters around the name, next to dead money and ill bet you the dlc is going to be called honest hearts bichhhhhhhhhhhh
@ThatAverageGatsby Additionally, Dead Money was first hinted via in-game graffiti. The textures for these graffiti are in a folder in the game files called "nvdlcgraffiti", and all the textures share the filename "nvgraffitisierra". Interestingly, this folder contains a number of other textures, sharing the filename "nvgraffitihonesthearts". These read:
@214campos I see you're quoting the fallout wiki. You'll be glad to know that I've had a hand in most of the articles on dead money, including the one you've posted here. I don't think it really helps your case to quote my own article back to me as proof I'm wrong, when if you had actually read the text you'd see it doesn't help prove any of your original positions. I would normally just laugh but I've decided to leave this as a warning for how much stupid I can take before one is blocked.
@Meltedskull Enclave would be just as bad. They really need to give the Enclave a rest. It just doesn't make sense for the Enclave to be primary villains anymore after Fallout 2.
@Gman308877 That's the thing, this is NV not F3/F2[F2 had the best Enclave Q.Q] which had black and white scenarios. I'm speaking more of a Enclave Faction that you can get reputation with as right now Enclave is splintered all across the country trying to achieve their own way of getting to a reborn America, Remember this is NV it's more about about story and decision making then killing everything. More like of an expansion of the Enclave Remnants
@Meltedskull The Enclave doesn't exist anymore. They were destroyed at the Oil rig in Fallout 2 and finished off in Fallout 3. It wouldn't make sense for them to appear as anything more than remnants in future Fallout games or DLC.
@Meltedskull You said a faction spread throughout the country still trying to achieve their goals. The Enclave should be hurt so badly now that they wouldn't even qualify as a minor faction. Only remnants as in New Vegas. Just a couple survivors of Fallout 2 and 3, that have severed their connection to the Enclave and started new lives. Any sort of organized group spread across the country just wouldn't make sense anymore.
@214campos The big empty is in the DLC Old World Blues and The Divide is going to be in the DLC Lonesome Road, Zion Vally is where the DLC Honest Hearts take place. Ulysses was the courier who refused the platinum chip assignment when he saw your name on the list of couriers as next in line. Also, tell me when somebody said the person you play as got someone pregnant?
The Big Empty, and the battle of the Great Divide. Even if you beat this DLC, your clueless as to what they are. But if anyones got any info on what either of these phrases mean, give'em up, so we can get a little ahead... on what may be the next DLC...
dead money is shit just completed it which was borin then got loads of mint stuff and i carnt even leave the brotherhood of steel bunker it needs a key
So, I have quite a lot of stuff already in the game from armor to caps and guns etc. So, if I do this DLC will I lose all of that stuff after completing the DLC?
@ThatAverageGatsby Despite what the assholes say, i think you've done a wonderful job explaining dead money without spoilers. Cudos, someone should buy you a beer!
@ThatAverageGatsby Dude your review sounds just like IGN's except you just added minor details so you need to work on how you review. Also your not the only person that added that info on the Wiki because I also added allot to that section so don't act like your the one how put all that info on the site got it?
I lliked the DLC but it was a big let down because I was hoping for a DLC to extend the game like broken steel for fallout 3.Dead money for me was over all just absolute shit tedious and boring just absolute annoying.
i think it was fun it took me awhile to beat it lvl 30 i loved it abit hard and annoying at times hehe i like the end takeing the heavy things from the vault and selling them :D
@JACOBDDIXON13 how did you take said heavy things from the vault? can you only do it if you are a sneak chracter? i tried it after i killed you know who and you have to get out before you know what and well you just arent fast enough when over encombered
@OfficialAtramental i droped everything i didnt need and i took 4 of the bars i had my weight tlimit at 300 so i droped weapons most armor and misc tings
This add-on was alright in my opinion, it wasn't really what I expected, I guess. Maybe I'm being to harsh? But still, it was worth the 800 MS points.
@heretic50 Everyone can have their own opinion on this and I'm only loosely moderating the comments. I'm not a nerd rager; I can handle people disagreeing with me. Only blatant off topic trolls and channel promoters get blocked on the comments. I've done my best to describe what exactly your getting yourself into when you get Dead Money. To me, it made it compelling, to others, it may not be what they like or want from fallout.
Currently trying to find a way to get all of the gold bars out of the vault... I'm thinking about taking Father Elijah's head and putting the gold bars in his inventory, once I do that, I can manually pick up his head and run with it until I reach the exit. Haven't tried it yet, but that's my plan once I decide to replay this 7 hour long expansion :P
I'm a fan of your Mass Effect Insanity videos, glad to see you're back releasing vids again. I look forward to hopefully seeing some Dragon Age 2 content in the upcoming year. Happy Holidays all!
@L337COD4 I already had a rebreather going in from the Boomers. you probly already had it in your inventory if you got the quest for the Boomers to raise the bomber out of the lake.
Compared to the Fallout 3 DLC's I found Dead Money to be extremely disappointing. I had to constantly avoid the Ghost People while keeping an eye out for traps and annoying speakers and radios. It had quite a lot of potential but I must say it was wasted. I hope they go back to the old ways and make the next DLC more like Fallout 3.
@MrFoley100 I agree i would go further as to this was a pile of crap. It didn't add any real good weapons or armor, unlike Op: Anchorage and other DLC no where near best DLC of 2010, also the new perks are garbage the only thing it adds is game time and a few shittiy little items
I'm getting a new S series 120 GB console for Christmas because my production line system finally had a hardware failure. I was wondering; how much memory does this DLC take up? What is its price on the marketplace? Also, I was playing the New Vegas storyline on Hardcore and got to level 22. Would you suggest I stock up a little more on medical aid and get a few perks, or wold I be ok diving in? I've obtained alot of caps and powerful weapons.
@whatadoe It's about 200 MB, and is 800 Microsoft points. I would recommend getting some useful utility perks, and maxing out the combat skills you mainly use. Don't bother bringing anything, as it is all taken from you at the beginning. Hope I helped.
Thanks for the good review. You sold me on getting it. I love vegas but I have already maxxed out my chracter and I am probably only half way through the main story.
Dude thanks for posting this review so fast it is greatly appreciated. I was a little apprehensive as to the quality of the DLC but you have dissolved my suspicions. I'm downloading it now.
@MrDuramaxdiesel LotSB was awesome. Overlord, Kasumi and Zaeed were also good, but I left each of them wanting more. If I had to choose between Dead Money and a Mass Effect 2 DLC's, I would only struggle between LotSB and DM. Really, they are all worth getting.
LotSB was essentially an excellent execution of the same stuff as Mass Effect 2. DM took the mechanics of Fallout and put a new spin on it. I thought it was a great success and after 60 hours in the Mojave, I welcomed the change.
I just finished it and am very impressed. While the ending was a tiny bit of a letdown, being forced to give up all of that loot, (not me, couldn't give it up and looked up how to keep it all online) I'm actually having so much fun exploring around every little nook and cranny for more stuff with a fully upgraded holorifle. I honestly don't want to leave.
I havent finished theis DLC yet but what ive played so far I hate. Its soo morbid and depressing and is actually quite hard, no where near as good as the Fallout 3 DLCs.
i guess it was just me but i found dead money tedious and almost too hard. My character relied mostly in guns and ran out on ammo quickly. and in the casino there are so many door that i cant find the key for. i hate this dlc and just wanna return the mojave.
@1119Monster if guys are too hard, turn it down to very easy. You can just punch them to death. Many of the keys weren't required and the ones that were took me a few minutes to find but I enjoy exploration. If your finding it to hard then you may not be a high enough level or you didn't level your non-combat skills high enough. I did it with less, but you really shouldn't go in unless your lockpick, science, and repair are over 75.
Also Junk Rounds perk. You make ammo out of random crap.
Why u no make more vids

Haha, reccomend level 20, probably should've, but I finished it going in at level 8, left at level 16. Good video.

I wanted to note that Eurogamer has a very well written, alternate take to what I described here. Definitely worth checking out.
ThatAverageGatsby 1 year ago
@FalloutNVtips- to get Dog to stay you have to play the holotape that you used on him earlier.

Thank u finally I can't play new Vegas again and not black ops

I wonder what you said when you broke that bobby pin, that is if you didn't quick-save before.
thebeatlesdabest 1 year ago
This add-on was alright in my opinion, it wasn't really what I expected, I guess. Maybe I'm being to harsh? But still, it was worth the 800 MS points.
heretic50 1 year ago

@jbeazeer OMG dude you are a genius! OMG I have to try this I was sooo pissed that I couldn't find a way to get those blocks out of there.

@OfficialAtramental ha, tell me if it works, I still haven't got around to doing it yet.

I'm a fan of your Mass Effect Insanity videos, glad to see you're back releasing vids again. I look forward to hopefully seeing some Dragon Age 2 content in the upcoming year. Happy Holidays all!

Am I the only one who picked up a rebreather during this DLC that counts as a quest item?
L337COD4 1 year ago
@L337COD4 I already had a rebreather going in from the Boomers. you probly already had it in your inventory if you got the quest for the Boomers to raise the bomber out of the lake.
OfficialAtramental 1 year ago
@OfficialAtramental But the actual rebreather is not a quest item, and I found the one from Jack back at my suite.

MrFoley100 1 year ago
@MrFoley100 I agree i would go further as to this was a pile of crap. It didn't add any real good weapons or armor, unlike Op: Anchorage and other DLC no where near best DLC of 2010, also the new perks are garbage the only thing it adds is game time and a few shittiy little items

Cheers for the review, I have a much better idea of what to expect of this DLC and I will be downloading it soon :D

I found this DLC monotonous and repetitive.

From what I've heard, I've read some bad reviews. To be honest it looks very good from what I see.

Hey Gats,
I'm getting a new S series 120 GB console for Christmas because my production line system finally had a hardware failure.
Thank you.
whatadoe 1 year ago
@whatadoe It's about 200 MB, and is 800 Microsoft points. I would recommend getting some useful utility perks, and maxing out the combat skills you mainly use. Don't bother bringing anything, as it is all taken from you at the beginning. Hope I helped.

Great review! Will definitely be getting it on Christmas Day, haven't got New Vegas yet lol!

Thanks for the good review. You sold me on getting it. I love vegas but I have already maxxed out my chracter and I am probably only half way through the main story.

Hey now if I buy this New vegas so when I have this dlc I can continue the game after completeting. sry for bad english!!
GuitarTonttu 1 year ago
@GuitarTonttu No. In order to play it you have to continue from a save before you ended the game. It doesn't let you play past the ending.

Best RPG DLC of the year? What about all the Mass Effect 2 DLC's? Those were hands down a 100 times better.
MrDuramaxdiesel 1 year ago
@MrDuramaxdiesel LotSB was awesome. Overlord, Kasumi and Zaeed were also good, but I left each of them wanting more. If I had to choose between Dead Money and a Mass Effect 2 DLC's, I would only struggle between LotSB and DM. Really, they are all worth getting.
LotSB was essentially an excellent execution of the same stuff as Mass Effect 2. DM took the mechanics of Fallout and put a new spin on it. I thought it was a great success and after 60 hours in the Mojave, I welcomed the change.
ThatAverageGatsby 1 year ago
I just finished it and am very impressed. While the ending was a tiny bit of a letdown, being forced to give up all of that loot, (not me, couldn't give it up and looked up how to keep it all online) I'm actually having so much fun exploring around every little nook and cranny for more stuff with a fully upgraded holorifle. I honestly don't want to leave.
L337COD4 1 year ago
I havent finished theis DLC yet but what ive played so far I hate. Its soo morbid and depressing and is actually quite hard, no where near as good as the Fallout 3 DLCs.
jack4496 1 year ago
@jack4496 Oh, so you hate the game cause you suck at it. Great job.
Telonelemon3 1 year ago
@Telonelemon3 No, it being hard isnt the only reason I dont like it. I just dont like games that are really depressing.
jack4496 1 year ago
So similar to the "Saw" movie. I like it!
umm86 1 year ago
i guess it was just me but i found dead money tedious and almost too hard. My character relied mostly in guns and ran out on ammo quickly. and in the casino there are so many door that i cant find the key for. i hate this dlc and just wanna return the mojave.
1119Monster 1 year ago
@1119Monster if guys are too hard, turn it down to very easy. You can just punch them to death. Many of the keys weren't required and the ones that were took me a few minutes to find but I enjoy exploration. If your finding it to hard then you may not be a high enough level or you didn't level your non-combat skills high enough. I did it with less, but you really shouldn't go in unless your lockpick, science, and repair are over 75.
Also Junk Rounds perk. You make ammo out of random crap.
ThatAverageGatsby 1 year ago
@ThatAverageGatsby Thanks, i just have trouble with the quest markers. After i found the keys i started to realize that dead money wasn't that bad

does anybody know when this DLC is coming out for the PS3
avilameister 1 year ago
@avilameister Don't sweat about it, Hopefully you guys will get it soon.
LoudSoda 1 year ago
@avilameister Probably, but later, Microsoft paid money to make the DLC xbox 360 exclusive, but it'll come out on the other systems sooner or later.
Shadowmov3r 1 year ago
Wish the DLC was the actual story for new vegas, it was much more interesting I found.
And there is ton's to do, I just reached level 30 before doing it and almost reached 35 by the end of it. Well worth the 800 points.
