  • It's been 6 months since you said you would upload without the audio corruption...

  • Aww it's so cool to see you left a comment yesterday! Out of all the comments the vid taker is the comment below mine:) so cool!!!

  • Well.... after 11 years the audio somehow got shot. I will re-upload which will delete the 571K views and comments..... :(

  • Why is the monkey dancing to explosions?

  • Special guest soundtrack provided by Akira Yamaoka.

  • anyone elses sound is screwed up?

  • @WWEinvadesTNA8 my sound is screwed up too

  • Haha, this is so funny!

  • hillarious... lmao...

  • Perfect commercial for the timing to invest the market in 99'. Precisely wasting it.

  • So clever!

  • well, it's not completely wasted when you're actually doing a commericial for something.

  • This is my favorite commercial ever! Although it was funnier when I couldn't remember what it was actually for.

  • Among the Chim or the toddlers, who I would feel really confortable investment my Penny With? Thats the million dollar question...

  • This is one of the only superbowl commercials that I still remember because its so brilliant.

    Simple and absolutely hilarious!

  • Must...purchase.......bonds.

  • i LOLd

  • Man, I remember this! I thought this was absolutely hysterical back when I was 10. Still funny today and much better than those stupid talking baby commercials.

  • but the talking babies are awesome!

  • 2000 was when this commercial aired it was the Super Bowl in Atlanta when the Rams played the Titans!

  • @Kelski1998 the rams beat the titans by stopping a game-winning touchdown by the titans.

  • 2 million dollars may have been wasted but at least the chimpanzee had fun with it :)

  • You mean the nigger.

  • niccee

  • lol

  • 2 million seems quite a bit much for that.

  • It was during the Superbowl, one of the most watched events of the year. Ads are VERY expensive then just for that reason..lots of people to pitch a product to.

  • @Lengsel7 Yeah, but it had one of the lowest production costs of any commercial during that Super Bowl. More importantly, people surveyed in the weeks after the Super Bowl showed that this spot had higher recall than any other during the game.

  • @Ch33seMan

That's because it had the company name displayed straightforwardly for the entire commercial. Highly artistic ads may be fun to watch but I suspect they do nothing for the product they are selling. I can remember the cute gimmick of many ads but the actual product of many fewer.

  • hey wasn't that billybob on the right there?

  • The old man is actually my wife's grandfather. He's 96 now.....funny guy.

  • COOL !

  • Thats was a Mexican Monkey ! i believe ,so ?

  • ROFL!!

  • What is the name of this song?

  • "la cucaracha"

it's a really old mexican song lol

  • That's what i was thinking but it sounds different

  • yeah, it says la cucarachacha

    instead of la cucaracha

  • I laugh every time!

  • lol

  • You should see "Indiana Jones and a day at the office" its good

  • False.

  • best superbowl commercial ever

  • Win!

  • Commercial + monkey = insta-win

  • whats the song

  • lol i remember this! i was just talking about it the other day actually...

  • Alot better than the uncreative stuff they showed during the Super Bowl last night....

  • What was the message in their commercial? Looks like they just wanted some attention. I guess they got it. lol

  • Hahahaha.

This is my favorite Superbowl commercial EVER.

  • BEST THING EVAR

  • Well, we just wasted 2 million bucks.

What are you doing with your money?

  • best sb commercial ever

  • I lol'ed super hard XD

  • you "laughed out loud'ed" 0.o

  • Comment removed

  • lols your logic gland is malfunctioning

animal cruelty with show animals =/= etrade hates animals =/= anything to do with the services etrade provides

  • This was from 2000 I believe.

  • I have only seen this commercial once and that was when it aired during the super bowl. I have not forgotten this one. Although I still don't use e-trade.

  • I remember this specifically being the 99 season/00 super bowl.

  • Yes, submitter, you're right, I'm pretty positive this came from the January 2000 Super Bowl.

  • It was. I still have the SB on tape with the Rams and Titans.

  • WoW!!

Amazing... just perfect, an ad you won't forget

  • Probably one of the more creative super bowl commercials ever...

  • @PvtGermanWagz Can you explain the meaning of this commerical! I couldn't get it!

  • @PersonOfBook It's a pointless waste of money (2 million dollars for 30 seconds of superbowl ad time), and E-Trade is trying to tell YOU the viewer to do something good with your money, like investing it.

  • @PersonOfBook It's okay, some people are born retarded, such as yourself. It's nothing to be ashamed of.

  • That was SOOO much better than that Microsoft add!!

    Go E*Trade!

  • Jerry Seinfeld/Bill Gates "Shoe Circus" ad... 2008's dancing monkey ad. ;-)

  • man I love this one...simply hilarious...

  • They just said it. "2 million dollars"

  • I remember watching this commercial during the Super Bowl like five years ago. This is my favorite commercial of all time. Thanks for posting it.

  • dude seriously what the hell. can people for once not manage to bring social issues into youtube videos that have no social issues in them.

  • canadian pride has issues, do you eat meat at all? do you wear clothes, both of those things come from animals. GD liberal tree huggers

  • eat lots of bananas and watch Macacas get drunk and fling poo?

  • agreed!!!

  • they erm, fall like any child stars in america?

oh yeah and bananas as far as the eye can see...AIDS INFESTED BANANAS!!! with cocaine in them...tsktsk. bad monkeys

  • the finest super bowl commercial of all time.

Wasted? Hardly. It's about the only commercial I remember.

  • Isn't E-trade going belly up? Seems kinda wasteful in retrospect..

  • This may be the most beautiful thing I will ever see in my life.

  • pure genius lol

  • whoa, look at the second page of comments on this video, longest things ever written on YouTube in a comment! also, this is hilarious!

  • thas funy

  • Funny thing, kaylianders, you explained it in your first sentence! I'd say that's the epitome of answering your own question!

  • Hahaha I laughed. xD

  • lmao funny how a monkey commercial got political

  • that was the best super bowl ad ever,

  • hahah this is soooo funny!

  • its a superbowl 2000 commercial

  • Greatest Super Bowl ad of ALL TIME!

  • we spent that money during a war, what do you expect. secerity is a nice thing knowing that your country is safe. we help a lot. there is no country that matches our charity. why should we give so much when so many hate us? you are right there is to many people but if you look around america is the only country realy started to go all green and save the world. we will always be able to suport our selfs becouse we are smart, other countrys will suffur and we will end up saving the day like always

  • jesseak907...That's "security," not "secerity." Some misspellings make it next to impossible to figure out your exact meaning.

    Also..."suffer," not "suffur"

  • so funny seeing ppl say how they wasted 2 million bucks, and they are here watching it. I believe E-trade is doing much better biz now. Their commercials work, they are in your head. The end.

  • Still the best SuperBowl commercial of all time. Hilarious. Timely. I remember when I saw it... I about fell off my chair. E-Trade rules.

  • wow, this vid is telling me to do the total opposite. they just wasted 2 mil and now want us to invest in them. lol

  • it makes sense. you're not actually investing in them, you're paying a small fee to use them AS your investment platform for all other kind of equity.

i love the talking baby much more though lol

  • No world hunger can be solved with a mere 2 billion dollars. Just doesn't seem that way because here in the US our government hides real priorities up their asses.

  • See, now you just took a funny commercial and whipped your ass with it, thanks alot.

  • you pwnedhim. lol thanks man

  • u didnt see it on tv last night cuz it was from like 99 i think =P. but thats alright. i remember this for some reason and also remember that it was all over youtube when it 1st showed.

  • lol, etrade has the best ads

  • Lol i didnt see that on TV last night but thats funny lol

  • 2million and training the monley and buying the monkey thats way more than 2mil

  • You'd obviously rent the monkey. The 2 mill was for the showing time.

  • obviously

  • This one is clever & funny but it is also sad at the same time. Sports is such a big business now that the regular guy/gal cannot even attend events anymore.

  • i like the monkey.

  • smart ad

  • DUDE! You throw away money like its nothing. You could use that money to contribute to ending world hunger. If we spent money on food rather than sports we could end world hunger.

  • pussy

  • Pussy? Because I think we should help the world instead of people so assinine and idiotic that all we spend our money on is games and weapons to kill instead of using it to save lives? You're an idiot.

  • ha are you stupid? we dont just spend our money on games and weapons. look at the charity that comes out of the u.s. your the idiot. were in iraq, we just stood up for 1.2 million kawaitys that sadam mass murdered. now we are trying to rebuild them. when has that ever happind. you an idiot e-trade is world wide. not just the u.s.

  • Well I think its a waste to spend money on shit like this the doesn't really have any benefit. Sure we do SOME things, but we could do so much more. We're actually pretty wasteful and selfish if you think about it, we actually do very little to help compared to what we could do. We spend 420 billion dollars a year on weapons. We could actually spend like, not even a tenth of that to eliminate world hunger. We're worse than the great empires of yesterday who fell because of their hedonism.

  • what the fuck does e-trade have to do with what we are talking about? Do you even know what I was saying?

  • lmfao...oh god..I was thinking the same thing..

  • u is samrt persun!!11

  • NICE

  • Ummm, actually there is enough food on the planet. There is enough money to stop world hunger. The population of the world can fit in the equivalent land area the size of Texas and everyone would have living quarters the size of a decent apt. It's all about DISTRIBUTION of goods. America makes up 10% or so of the worlds population but uses a majority of the resources!

  • umm, i recant, we only make up half of what I said about world population. Americans, while making up only four percent of the world's population, operate one third of its automobiles. U.S. citizens consume one quarter of the world's global energy supply.

  • o yeah, thats the way to preach it brudda!

And did you know that everybody in the world can also fit in the county of san diego with enough room to turn around?

  • I think you mean 5% of the population.

  • the fact remains that at the rate we are going now, the earth WILL NOT CONTINUE to sustain us, at least, this many of us. it has happened before, when people started to use agriculture instead of hunting/gathering, they expanded beyond their means and eventually had huge population losses because of it. aside from all of the hypothetical 'all of the people in the world can fit in an area the size of san diego', realize realistically that there are WAY too many people on earth, its simply a fact.

  • well, we just wasted 2 million bucks.

    GENIUS COMMERCIAL!!!

  • LOL, it must be nice to waste $2.7 Million dollars

  • lolz

  • give that monkey an award

  • Wow that is amazing. It's so ironic!

  • I'm actually impressed with E*Trade, now. I fell asleep for the second half of the Super Bowl (sue me: i'm a Packers fan) and heard so much about that "E-Trade Baby". Those were funny, this is pure genius!

  • lol sweet

  • Commercial "air-time" during the Super Bowl really is $1,000,000, for 15 seconds.....this commercial was pure genious!

  • yeah, that is true, but it probaly cost them 1.7 million to have someone come up with that idea!!!

  • hahahahahahah one of the best so far !!!!

  • this is the best super bowl ad ever.

  • ahahaahah

  • Marky1333, the countries of Canada and Mexico will never go along with the Amero because our American economy is going down the crapper and I think we will be in for a long recession. Does Japan in the 90's mean anything to you?

  • AHAHA

  • 2000, Super Bowl XXXIV. The next year, they had a new commercial with the monkey going through a wasteland of the dot.coms that perished when the bubble burst, and pulling an Iron Eyes Cody.

  • haha, that's classic!

  • omg so funny~~~!!!

  • Best. Commercial. Ever.

  • can someone explain this commercial? thanks

  • the idea is that the moneky dancing is so pointless that it was a waste... by saying that they wasted $2 mil, they then ask the viewers if they are wasting their money, and the idea is that they will use E*Trade so they that they dont waste money

  • This would be the dot com bowl Super Bowl 32. The Super Bowl that was played in Atlanta and was the Rams vs. Titans.

  • 30 secs is 2 mil

  • 2.7 mill actually.

There's a racist joke in there, but I'll be good today.

  • What, white people don't have any rhythm?

  • hes not saying that, hes saying they put a racist joke in there, its not like he said it himself

    calm down

  • i think he means the song. [[la cukaracha]]

  • no, they mean how that commertial sucked.

(La Cucaracha is the right spelling)

  • wheres the racist joke? the only way to find one is if you are trying to make it racist

  • i think it costs like 57,000$ per second

  • whoops, now they are in big trouble, maybe they shoulda kept that 2 mil

  • this was my favorite commercial when they were showing the best superbowl commercial contest thing on tv

  • Now that's one clever commercial...heart it!

  • lmao!

  • @ rhelbren

30 seconds of time during the commercials with the superbowl costs 2 million =D

    great commercial

  • bahahahahaha!

i love this ad. i had all but forgotten about it. amen multivox, this is indeed what a SB commercial is all about.

  • i don't get it.

is the monkey worth $2 million?

  • No, the ad cost $2 million.

  • Wow. This is an All Time Classic

  • best. commercial. ever.

  • This is what a Super Bowl commercial is supposed to be like, not like that piece of crap Emerald Nuts-Robert Goulet spot that was unfunny and made no sense what so ever.

  • clever
