No way, There is a 2-screen movie theater in my home town of Wisconsin with a town population of around 3,000 that has been around since I was young like 20+ years ago. It is very run down and has replaced rows of seating with tables so that they can offer more "kitchen foods" like Pizza and breadsticks. That is, i'm sure the only thing keeping them going.
My view is changing toward everything being "bad" to this being GOOD. Consumerism is a sickness or plague on society. People buying tons of crap and being constantly entertained while the World is in wars and starving. Many people I know have multiple homes and do not see anything wrong with it. So be it. Me me me It must all be about ME!. No need to care about others. Let the chips fall where they will. The forest will be burned to the ground.
Thank you globalists for ruining the country. You all should be swinging for attempted murder. 100 years ago they hung someone for stealing a man's horse because a horse was his livelihood. The globalists have stolen all of our horses.
In my town we had a 4 theater movie complex built in 1972. It kept expanding and growing, and eventually became a 14 theater complex. It is massive. It closed in 2006, and sits there, an empty hulk. The mini mall next to it is almost totally vacant. What you have shown here is carbon copied many times over.
You should do a video on the one thing that isnt dead in prescott, or preskit as local say....( I used to lived on off of montezuma on the top of the hill over the bridge when u pass albert johnsons) and that all the rehabs/halfway houses, prescott has the most rehabs and halfway per capita in America!
Dittos that the 60's, 70's and 80's were the peak of USA standard of living. I had a great time in the 70's and 80's. I remember only a few things from the late 60's, no its not due to drugs lol if anyone is wondering. I was too young.
I work in retail as a upper managment of a unnamed retailer OK period. Last year black friday was $68,500 in one day this year $31,800 in the same store that does very good typically.
After this day we have been close to numbers but not close enough for the last few weeks.
We have a lot less ours on our schedule for our employess. Plus we are not allowed to spend anything on a Christmas party for our employees. So we are spending our own money to make it happen.
@ladylordess I drove through going North coming from Jerome and heading towards Flagstaff. There was a nice campground next to a river when I was there in 1996.
The world has changed. 20 years ago, more people were happier, they had something to do. Can the world go back to the way it was before? where is all this economic downturn going to lead to in the united states if it does not stop.
this is just more evidence Americans are running out of money....big retail stores will continue to have to cut prices even more and pay their workers a slave's wage to turn a profit.
The video stores in my town...the corporate ones all closed down this year, all that is left are the owner orperated ones. This really gives me some hope for the little guys as I see this as a new trend with corporate shopping. The owner operated businesses will finally have the space to make some money.
Welcome to the new world order give it 10 more years and it might be booming all over again except the sign for the mall might be written in Chinese or Russian and you won't need the video store anymore to get adult entertainment or anything else because you will probably have perverts that work for the TSA in white vans X-raying vehicles scanning license plates and groping people in the malls and sports events.
Do you ever notice that in the early 90s Christmas was never rushed. Now Christmas starts in October that is what it feels like to me. The 1980s and 1990s were the best years of all I think now everything is over commercialized. Even then music was better now all music is just not worth listening to now.
70's were great because you could probably get a woody at will, the chicks you were bangin' hot because they were in their 20's and you didn't think about much anything else.
The 80's 90's 2000's 2010's were, are still that way still just depends where you are in life.
Truth is today is the best day you have right now.
I think also Americans with money, brains (and Passports LOL) are moving to better countries while they still can. I was in Colombia recently and the malls there are packed with the most expensive designer brands imaginable . And Colombia is in the third world. What does that say about the USA? LOTS of GRINGOS noe live in Colombia .. Met many..
I have to admit Greg. this looks dire. I am in Canada and here things are way more "normal" (so-far). Cant imagine wanting to live in a ghost town.. sorry about that ...
@rayrockusa prescott was always dead except for rehabs, I get the point hes trying to say but go to a city, not town, and do this video and see its not as bad u think although its getting there but this isnt as sad as u make it
about as unbiased as any greg. and yep. we get the commercials about the phoney terrorists here in Ok too. Now we have been getting the emergency broadcast message and they are sinc'd. i think the next black flag is just around the corner. Drones, nuke suitcases, and a phoney Iranian enemy.
i feel ya Greg, i can relate, believe me. But my generation and the generations after me never got the good times of the 50-60-70-80's decades, we got the 90's the fuckin' 00's and now we r here, so at least u have a good old days to remember, i cant reflect on any. hahaha
Believe me...you are better than those skanks on cable TV. DO NOT BELITTLE YOURSELF LIKE THAT AGAIN!
