Stravinsky looks like Igor.

I generally like this kind of music, but I was expecting Franki Yankovic style of polka, so I feel let down! Oh well, win a few and lose a few.

Stravinsky may've been of Russian Jewish ancestry but somewhere along the way at least he became Russian Orthodox (Orthodox Christian).

True story about Stravinsky and this piece... this is the actual conversation over the phone that Starvinsky and Balanchine had:
-Balanchine: "I wonder if you'd like to do a little ballet with me."
-Stravinsky: "For whom?"
-Balanchine: "For some elephants."
-Stravinsky: "How old?"
-Balanchine: "Very young."
-Stravinsky: "All right. If they are very young elephants, I will do it..."
and so Stravinsky's"Circus Polka: For a Young Elephant" was born...
hahaha! I love it :D

@jcenriquez 'How old?' Prince Igor could really be funny. Dry humor though.

It seems like there was more emphasis on dynamics and percussion.

I think, well, at least to this Circus polka, its a good thing. It makes the dancing rhythimic and I prefer polkas to be a little more percussive on the beats. Short notes are great, to my ears....
