I like Zach Galifianakis, but the only problem with his stand up is that he's reached the point of stardom where people will literally laugh at anything he does. It detracts from his talent. I remember when Dave Chapelle was in his prime, I heard that for one of his shows all he did was go on stage, eat a sandwich, and leave. And people were in hysterics. This is kind of like that.

what you, and apparently most people, don't realize is that Zach is a stand-up comedian first and foremost and an actor second. This special was made in 2006, he didn't reach the point of "stardom" until The Hangover in 2009. His absurdist one liners and awkward style might not be for everyone, but I hate it when people say "he should stick to movies" when he's really only doing them to continue his stand-up career

Audiences were laughing so hysterically at not necessarily good material that for his last comedy album under his contract with Warner Bros., he released an album of mostly banjo music instead of comedy, before turning to acting full time.
