  • Mulate's is a great place to dance, a real treat that we expereinced while at the Crawfish Festival in 2011.

  • Chank a Chank and Yeha from Alberta 1996

  • get it baw !!! I used to Drive Buses for UL and on Friday nights we would take Elder Hostell groups there ..... Geaux Cajuns !!!!!!

  • Is that Jamie on the drums?

  • @timcomeau

    I'm clueless. Sorry.

  • @tdub1941 sounds like Jamie Bearb singing and playing drums?

  • @timcomeau

Yep, now that I think about it, I remember that on one of these other videos I got from that night someone had commented that it was Jamie (in the comments below the video).

  • Love this! Thanks for keeping Louisiana's music in our heart and soul!

  • YEEEEEEEAHAAAAAW kick that shit

  • I'm from rural western Canada and we dance like this all my life. When we were in Mulates etc in New Orleans, they were surprised we danced the same. We call it 'old time dancing'.We are not French-Cdn,Cajun or Acadian. I guess we just all like to dance thank goodness:) Brings people together. I can't stand having music at a dance and everyone just sits there and stares at one another-how boring.

  • Thanks- I only mention it because 'wannabrewju' may be local to me. It's funny how Manchester UK has a lot of musicians who like Cajun (-as well as Roots, Blues, Country, Jazz, Rock, Indy etc etc) -locals The Ragin' Cajuns started a scene here 15-20 years ago, and that influenced a lot of us.

  • Yup, That good old Cajun music as found enthusiasts an many parts of the world. Even right here in Kansas City, Missouri!

    Thanks for watching!

    RagJazzMonkey Tom

  • Im from Manchester in the UK , and I love it!!

  • do you know the(acoustic) Cajun+Zydeco session, last tuesday every month, Lloyds Hotel, 617 Wilbraham Rd, Chorlton, Manchester 21 (UK). 9pm, free, listen or play along. We usually have a dozen or more players (from The Cajun Specials and Eunice Bobcats etc).

  • Thanks for your comment and info.

  • I know this music because I am from New Orleans.

  • F'ils d'putain!! C'est bon musique Acadien!!

  • I am Canadian Acadian..Do you Acadians down south get sh** from the anglais americans for being french? It seems like americans hate anything french..

  • There will always be idiots in the world that dislikes others for irrational reasons. The best thing is to ignore them and move on.

  • We don't get too much shit from our fellow Countrymen (Les Americains, les Anglaise), and if we do, we don't give a fuck. There are some that have TRIED to undermine our Culture, but to NO avail. There will always be factions in America that will continue to do so. We aren't Politically Correct. We're gonna do what We wanna do, we don't care who it pisses off. Unlike the French, we have served our Country with honor in World Wars, and not dropped our rifles and ran at the first sign of trouble.

  • Actually, if we didn't give an "f", like you so politely put it, we'd still be speaking French. But guess what?

Yes they have undermined our culture at its very core, contrary to what Couillon says. They've taken away our language. One can argue, however, that it was doomed from the start since it wasn't written down, but they have truly taken it from us (undermined our culture to a GREAT extent) by not letting us speak french at school.

  • @ Coullio43 Damn Right!! Cajun Culture is Les Grande in America!!

  • American Democrats and especially Republicans dislike France because the French government won't go along with their predatory world policeman foreign policies. They also perceive the "no B.S." attitude of Parisians as "French arrogance". However, they tend to not dislike the Quebecois or other Francophone ethnicities and nationalities. Anglophile discrimination against Cajuns faded away several decades ago because Cajuns hold a lot of political and economic power in Louisiana now.

  • Hope you all recovered from the water damage and get Paul Daigle back during Mardi Gras. He played NOWHERE during festival because Mulates wasn't open.

  • Words alone cannot say how much I wanna get out of California and visit this place. Two thumbs up!!!!!!!!!!

  • It's Louisiana dude.

  • Love that place. I really miss the atmosphere since I left Port Arthur, TX. Gotta get back there. Thanks for posting pieces of home.

  • Jamie Bearb is awesome! Beautiful vocals. I'm am Steve Riley's biggest fan and hate to say it but Jamie sings this even better than Steve. You can feel he emotion in his voice.

    GREAT!

  • Hey thanks for this clip! Is it possible to have the title of the song, maybe? I teach French and have been looking for Cajun music with Cajun Frenc lyrics, but the majority of the songs seem to have been traslated into English. Is that possible? If I'm wrong, please correct me. Cheers from Italy ^___^

  • I am so sorry. I have no idea what the title is. I just stopped in the place one night on a driving trip to Florida, and video taped this band.

    Thanks for asking though.

    Tom Warner

  • Nevermatter, just thanks for the nice video :)

  • It is the OST Special. Most of the cajun music is still sung in French, but it's cajun french...

  • Thank you so much for this song title. I will put it in the write up on this video.
