I have every inch of respect for our military, but why the profanity? Yes, you see it in all sorts of jobs but I would think the military has more class than those professions.

@Baztian360 Do you think you wouldn't be using profanity when your being shot at on the battlefield, being forced to do push ups in the morning cause someone leaves their kit in the LAV? Military careers are very stressful and most soldiers swear quite a lot on the job.

@asre2001 The difference is, your teammates, the people you expect support from, are swearing at you. I am all for strictness, just not the verbal abuse. And yes, I do realize the officers ultimately want the soldiers to succeed, so why the verbal abuse.

@Baztian360 Our soldiers have to take a lot worse than that in the field - I don't think there was too many sit downs in Afghanistan where the Taliban was complaining they were being sworn at and to please clean up your language.

When you're life, and that of others, is on the line, there is no such thing as verbal abuse, IMO.

@Baztian360 Its difficult to explain, after 2 weeks of basic training (or bootcamp) you realize that the swearing isnt really directed at you unless you fuck up. When a staff says (for example) "Pick up your F*ng gun and get in the F*ng LAV, HURRY THE FUCK UP" doesnt mean he is calling you a piece of crap. If you get sworn at for forgetting kit in canada... you wont forget it in the battlefield.

I was in Kandahar on ROTO -0- of COMKAF (Nato HQ - Aug 07) Peter McKay came and visit the New HQ - We were introduce, shake his hand, talk to him, an actually conversation!!!
