@arivas713 it doesn't work! i missed like 5 of your videos! here i came to think that you died or something but it turns out it was youtubes fault all along. were does one go to lodge a complaint?
I don't think Rikitake is alone in his assumption about left-handers. I was in a shop once and when I went to sign my credit card receipt the shop girl said 「へぇ~右利きですか?珍しい~」. I was pretty confused since like 90% of people are right handed (and I believe it's an even higher percentage in Japan). But now I get it. She must have thought that all foreigners were left handed.
@kloneo There are English subtitles on almost all of my videos, including this one. You have to click the cc button in the bottom right hand corner of the player.
to the first couple-w/the over-reaction-,if you guys are ever in osaka,i would like to buy you a biiru...i have not laughed for so long/hard in a long time!
The American gun thing is really a common question I get from students. A friend told me once that it was reinforced by the media many years ago when a Japanese exchange student was shot and killed during Halloween when he had entered someone's house thinking it was ok to do so. Then again, I recently found out that my aunts both own hand guns for "protection.." So maybe it's not totally off base.. Good stuff. looking forward to the next beer. :)
I'm an Australian and I admit that the majority of us are unwilling to take jobs below our station or labour intensive jobs. It was even on the news today that the government are going to consider bringing in migrants to do the 'dirty work' that we are unwilling to do.
One thing that really bothers me though is the stereotype that us younger people are all binge drinkers and get loud and bother everyone else and get into fights. I'm nearly 26 and I don't drink at all, and I'm never loud. :/
What's most interesting about things like this is a lot of people don't realize they have misconceptions until they actually visit the country they're thinking about. Even a very "worldly" person will go to countries and be surprised by differences they never even considered. Love these segments, I feel like your videos get better by the month!
Until recently, I was really thinking Westerner girls are a glabrousness. LOL! At J-AV comments, they were saying "I want to shaving Japanese girls" or about J-girl's pubic hair, so I understood it. LOL!
and I replied about it thing. "In Japan, it be mistaken for masochist girls". LOL
I still say my "1 case" idea would've been a big hit...
Or some lost in translation episodes, putting people together in the same room with beer that don't understand one another. I've come to find that in those situations, with good spirits/food/people, there's like a universal, unspoken form of communication that takes over.
@JunmaiShu while I agree this could be a great idea. I would be happy to do that myself. There are so many bad mannered people here in America. So many closed minded racists still.
But I'm sure there are these types of people all over the world.
I look forward to becoming fluent in Japanese and being able to set in a bar and speak to people like bobby does. To make many friends.
Yes, unfortunately these types of people still exist all over the world. Americans just seem to be especially hypocritical about it. For example, they were quick to demonize the Nazi regime for their genocide (and rightfully so)... yet had no problem wiping out the indigenous race of native Americans they encountered to "settle" their land. They only have morals when it suits their own agenda, and disregard them when it doesn't.

yuinariel 3 weeks ago
