I personally believe that Aisha wasn't 9 at the time. Her sister Asmaa was 29-30 when Ayesha was married and was 10 years older than her. Ayesha had to have been 19-20. No religion in the world is inherently evil; opposition just claims them to be. Teaching will educate them enough to respect the differences between people.

Christians and Shi'ite Muslims must unite and realize they are worshiping the same God, even though we follow different religious leaders, we are worshiping the same God of those leaders. And we MUST look into each others books to find resemblance of truth. And for Christians like me, we must look at the New Testament as letters written from followers of Christ, not words that were written directly from God. Peace be unto true Christians and true Muslims. I've found peace between us. God bless.

@Herman47 Child marriages such as this were relatively common in Bedouin societies at the time, such marriages were not seen as improper in historical context, And Muhammad (S.A.W) had 3 wives, not 12. I personally believe that Aisha wasn't 9 at the time. Her sister Asmaa was 29-30 when Ayesha was married and was 10 years older than her. Ayesha had to have been 19-20. And im pretty sure if somebody stole your stuff you wouldnt let them get away without putting up a fight. Thanks ;D

@omair1051992 I think they should teach Islam, Christianity, Judism, other religions in school. But they also have to teach facts like evolution, and that the universe is 13.7 billion years old. Tell children the differences, the bad things and good things about religion and than when they're old enough let them choose. Now they don't, if your parents are muslim or christian, and your community too, you become muslim or christian.Accept evolution as a fact and I, as an athiest won't be offended!

No religion in the world is inherently evil; opposition just claims them to be. Teaching will educate them enough to respect the differences between people.

@RyoRichard2 I choose not to debate with people who think it's OK to oppress their women and make them hide behind a clothe. I see Muslim women in America and all I see are women who are being forced to hide. Though they may claim to be happy, deep down they feel much much different about what your religion teaches, as do so many of your fellow Muslims. Point is, We don't think Women should not act like attention magnet so they should cover themselves so they should be recognized like HUMAN BEINGS.

Rohan 1053, Very true that there are bad and good people in this world. However, based on what you just said about the prophet. He peace and blessing be upon him married ladies for particular, to strengthen relationships in the community. You cannot base a prophet with a normal human being. There was a reason why Allah choose him from all the people in this world. Just do the research on Prophet yourself and not as a person but as a ruler and you will come to an understanding urself.

read the hadiths, and you'll find a different version of muhammed, as written by one of his own followers. abu lahab, for one thing, was never a stone-cold drunkard with disdain for his nephew. if anything, he tried time and time again to get muhammed to understand that the way he was going about things was all wrong. any religion that must use war and deception cannot be considered "godly", and also, any god who can only speak to only one man on a whole peninsula is just absurd.
