Remember, B.C. place has horrid acoustics, and doing a song live would have required full a full band soundstage with the 12 foot tall speaker systems...like a rock concert.
I thought this Olympics had the best open and closing ceremonies of al that I have seen. But hey I'm biased.....lol
In my opinion, our closing ceremony was heartfelt and friendly. Comedy coulda been better. However, this song should have been the closer and if it was my call I would have scrapped all those shit bands minus Neil Young and threw in the Tragically Hip and that is Canada <3
I really enjoyed the closing ceremonies... but I thought the music choices were awful! There are so many more incredible Canadian musicians to choose from than Simple Plan, Nickleback, and Avril Lavigne :S Also, I agree... the comedy stunk.
This was the only poppy performance that didn't suck. Avril lip-synced through her shitty songs, Buble was a dick on display, and the stupid dancing hip-hop crap was mental torture. The "comedy" was horrific, the Canada dance was fucking embarrassing just to watch, and I'm sure Nickleback sucked like they always do (I didn't see them; bathroom).
The opera singers were fucking amazing though. I hope to be that good one day.

Alanis delivered a stellar performance of this song at the Closing Ceremonies last night in Vancouver. She looked absolutely gorgeous too. (Inside story: I was at Budget Rentals at Vancouver International a year or so ago. The place was pretty empty, but suddenly I turned & made direct eye contact with a beautiful woman standing next to me. I looked at her for a few seconds, smiled, she smiled back & then I turned back to my agent. It was Alanis! I waited until she left before I said anything.
Can't think of a more fitting song to show pride, support and appreciation to ALL the athletes that made it to the 2010 Olympic Games ... getting THERE was no small feat ... Victory through courage, strength and adversity ... CONGRATULATIONS ALL OF YOU

It's not really suprising. :) Lucy really is the soul of the stories. She's the idealist and the believer, and she shows in the books what our response to Aslan should be. She really is the person among all of them who brings the heart out.
Nicely done. This song is perfect in reflecting the emotional impact of the movie. The first time I saw it was also the first time I heard this song, and the pairing worked to perfection. I never forgot about it.
I love Alanis Morissette, she will always be my idol. I have grown up listening to her music, and she always was one of my favorite singers. She has such a great voice. Also, the Chronicles of Narnia is so amazing. It is one of the best movies and books I have ever seen and ever read.

Just so you know, she's not trying to speak German. Yes, the word is taken from German, but apparently has been used in the English language, so the pronunciation is going to be altered. That's just how language works. It also probably would ruin the flow of the song if pronounced the German way.

It's not really suprising. :) Lucy really is the soul of the stories. She's the idealist and the believer, and she shows in the books what our response to Aslan should be. She really is the person among all of them who brings the heart out.

Nicely done. This song is perfect in reflecting the emotional impact of the movie. The first time I saw it was also the first time I heard this song, and the pairing worked to perfection. I never forgot about it.

I love Alanis Morissette, she will always be my idol. I have grown up listening to her music, and she always was one of my favorite singers. She has such a great voice. Also, the Chronicles of Narnia is so amazing. It is one of the best movies and books I have ever seen and ever read.

good song, but someone needs to tell this lady how to speak German!!!!! It's so ignorant to pronounce wunderkind so wrongly!!! In German there isn't even an American "w" sound. And she's saying kind wrong too!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Simply giving my opinion on the German pronunciation in this song, I was not expecting (nor do I need) this type of verbal harassment. It is unnecessary to act in the manor which you have displayed, and I would appreciate a better selection of word choice. The criticism of the German language was another comment I did not find constructive. It is ironic that one suggests proper pronunciation is ignorant, but I will not stoop down so low to do the same as you have done to me. Have a nice day.

I understand the concept of poetic licensing, but what I can't comprehend is that you are proud to have annoyed someone to the point where they feel the need to justify their beliefs. This should be a safe place where one does not have to worry about harassment. It saddens me to realize there are some people, like yourself, that find pleasure in this type of activity. Gosh...are u annoyed? I dont know why...coz for me bothered and annoy are totally different...and I did not agree with what u said about my "gave in atitude" towards agreeing on the German pronunciation, coz I havent! And up to this poin I just cant see where have u see "harassment" from me towards other people like yourself...could u show me that? maybe I could be a better person like those ones who djuge the others by thier different opinons towards those of who have their owns. I actually don't see how annoyed and bothered are separate ideas. I am surprised that you don't see the harassment from yourself. I'd say the demeanor you first expressed was definately harassment: the verbal abuse, selected word choice, the attitude you displayed. The definition of harassment is behavior that makes others feel uncomforitable-you have harassed. As for your statement above, you have judged others by their opinions. And, you have mistaken. God bless you, and when he does, listen.

Just so you know, she's not trying to speak German. Yes, the word is taken from German, but apparently has been used in the English language, so the pronunciation is going to be altered. That's just how language works. It also probably would ruin the flow of the song if pronounced the German way.
Also, your overuse of exclamation points is probably what stirred that other person to bash you. And the "W" sound is English...Americans just have an adapted form of English.
