One major difference between 1850s and 2012 is the fact that almost 50% of US citizens are being subsidized or supported by the government. Today few are able to survive if the basic infrastructure is suspended even for a few weeks. States depend on Federal dollars to make their budgets so a financial collapse at the Federal level will have a greater impact today than it ever has in the past. We need to be independent and self sufficient as individuals, states, and as a nation or we are slaves.
The big difference between us and the European people is that we, Americans, are more violent and if the government falls it will be total anarchy. The police, ambulance and fire depts. and military will not be there to help because they will be at home protecting their loved ones like everyone else. The people from major cities will fan out and destroy whatever gets in their way in order for them to get food, water, etc. It will be a very nasty situation and whoever survives will be lucky.
@greatwhitejake yes I know... you miss understood too... I am using the south seperating as an analogy of a country that all the sudden has no government and needs to put a new gorvernment in place. I am NOT saying the south collapsed I am saying it is an example LIKE a collapse because all the sudden they find themselves without a government!
i agree with your point on a invading force. its just not going to happen, the west coast would be the most likely place to invade but the desert would damn near stop them cold from reaching the east coast. an invasion from the east is a death sentence to all involved, the only two left are north and south, u have mountains in the north and desert in most of the south, its just not gonna happen. all in all a good video mick :)
i might have misheard what u was saying mick. but the south seperated from the union, there wasnt a collapse of the government. the south didnt like the direction the country was going so they said fuck it and split. there were many reason why but most say it was slavery that made the southern states split, this was NOT the reason.
@jwgbmp40 I wasn't talking about the war itself, I was talking about the south no longer part of the government and starting their own( kinda like a collapse) and then returning to the north government after the war( again another collapse) just as an example of how it might transition if it happens again... thanks for the info though.
i dont know bro. the succession of southern states lead to 600k civil war deaths. the war was about keeping the union intact initially. lincoln freed the slaves only to end the stalemate. the country was split 50/50.(similiar to dem/repub splits today).
@atruepatriot92 thanks man.... if you like these wait until I start my new series I'm working on I am calling history lessons... I am going to pick battles from our history as well as other parts of the world and talk about them kinda telling the story of each battle as it happened and not with all the hollywood hype! First up will be the alamo!
Love the videos man, I agree with all the points you make about how America is set up to run. I think some people just don't take the time to think about it they just picture it in their head and start to freak out. There is always that possibility of someone invading if that happened but again just like you said, highly unlucky. History is the greatest teacher and I enjoy that you use it to make your points. Take care and stay safe my friend.
I think if the economy collapsed it would be a good oppurtunity to start something better. This system we have where money is exist only to pay debt and frational reserve banking is really a big scam. It puts all the power in the hands of the bankers and the people that do all the work get screwed. Check out "Debt as Money documentary" I think Ill do a video on it. I think what WILL happen though if it collapses is a total military dictatorship.
@flwalt you know that is one of the best comments I have received... I have to agree on most points thank you for sharing your thoughts on this!
