This sort of attitude towards SGI and its leaders - as well as with many Nichiren Shoshu members towards the priests etc, has failed to produce ichinin (good fortune) to the point where some terribly bad karma has been allowed to take place in Japan – not to mention elsewhere in the world. Nichiren’s instruction was to put our faith in the Law and not in the person - organisation or anything else.

I have chanted for almost 40 years now, and believe me, I literally owe my life to Nam myoho renge kyo.

I was introduced to it in Japan while I was visiting there. From the end of WW2 up until 1991Japan prospered - health was tops - crime was little - and there were few disasters of any degree.

Since 91 (when the great dispute took place and NMRK was incredibly slandered, first off the rank - the economy crumbled - Mr Causton died - Kobe was destroyed - crime and sickness went up etc - Why???

The monuments that Ikeda builds to honor himself are paid for by your donation money. Nichiren Daishonin was not so arrogant, narcissistic & self-inflated to need monuments built honoring himself and false honors.

Hi, according to my understanding, the priest can be understood as a function instead as an entity. SGI still has a priesthood. But, it is functioning at the background, being in-charged of giving lectures and performing rituals. I feel that SGI functions like a company/country. Mr Ikeda is like a company president. A man who is actively walking around should be doing the leadership role. A priest who 'guards' the scriptures will do research and refine his understanding to teach better.

I would like to know how our gohonzon is a fraud if it's on an old priest did i believe it was the like 56th nikkomoku shonin. So yeah its not like it was made with a new priest. And people have old ones from before the SGI left the priesthood. They're all the same with the slight handwriting difference. I've been a member for a long time but Daisaku Ikeda is just another person he's like what a non-practicing Catholic is to the pope.

It´s a fraud because Bhuddism only stands strong with the 3 treasures and ortodox priesthood is one of them. The object of cult worshipped the wrong way therefor will become an empty piece of paper. Difficult? This is what the Daishonin said. Ikeda however added a lot of water to the wine by discarding all ortodoxy and creating this "humanistic bhuddism". On a centuries-old tradition, boldly discarded because it did not fit his purposes.

My respect for anybodies road to Bhudahood, but please consider if a Budism can exist without a school of ortodox monks to safeguard it´s rituals into the future. Who brought this powerfull tool to you in life?

Sorry if a missed anything but u r a SGI member, right? i find many SGI members always very fanatically defend their "I dont need priests, i don´t need a Gohonzon written by High Priest" etc. I am personally convinced that this is because they know deep inside that the SGI is a fraud.(did you know SGI is listed as "dangerous cult" in Spanish school text books?) Budism is about relation between master and disciple; my master shall be a monk, not some millionaire.

First of all i do have a gonhonzon not a nikken gohonzon but a gohonzon written by nichimoku shonin, it doesn't matter who wrote it. It's my most cherished item and i am a SGI member. And i do have a mentor disciple relationship but not with President Ikeda but with the Daishonin and his writing. There is nothing outside of my the writing that i need.

Thank you!! I feel the same. The "ideas" of nichiren daishonin are more than his ideas, they are the un-avoidable law of the entire universe. I see the cause and effect in every single thing -- it's so easy I don't understand why some can't see it. I didn't even know I was a Buddhist until I attended my first mtg. in 1986, and found they were teaching exactly what I was trying to write about. I considser myself a Hebrew Christian Buddhist and the same truth lies in ALL great faiths!

That all who invoke the Mantra are "Samga", and that therefore priests are not necesary?Nikken realized late that if the priesthood let propagation be the laybelievers organization´s task it would start to live it´s own unpure life, which it did. tightened rules to avoid NS going astray. Kicking out Ikeda was necesary and Ikeda provoked it. Sad.

Daishonin said: "I´ve inscribed my life in Chinese Ink" Gohonzon is the life of Buddha, not your life. SGI deviation.

The Daishonin did not inscribe the Gohonzon only for people that desired to understand with their intelect the why and how of Bhudism. He designed for all mankind, mainly occupied by fear and suffering, not by thinking and debating.

And because of that, the master is important and the doctrine shall be orthodox.

You say that even though the daishonin states "The five characters of Myoho-renge-kyo mirror allthings without a single exception.Nam-myoho-renge-kyo is a mirror to reflect onesown image (Gosho Zenshu, p. 724).  and that is exactly what the Gohonzon is. And the Daishonin did inscribe his life in a Gohonzon but what you don't understand is i that it wasn't this life but his Buddha nature which we all have the potential to reach.

First of all i think you should go to meeting, before you speak. At every meeting we do 15 minutes of diamoku then we chant the "expedient means" and "life span of the thus come one" chapters. we chant for 10 minutes then we do our silent prayers. We give utmost importance to daimoku as it's the only way harmonize yourself with the universe. As for my "position as a respected Buddhist" I do not need a position or place to help being world peace.

In my humble opinion SGI watered down the Daishonin´s teachings to make it easier available to masses. Your tendency to interpret everything from a personal point of view is easily understood as a result of this process. It´s a different Bhudism all together now. But why attack NS?
