  • I got three online test due until April 20, and the rest of them are all open book. I'm someone who can be really distracted very easily.

  • I used to know someone with A.D.H.D and he was always a bit lonely . He screamed alot and kicked my brother in the face for no reason , someone please tell me why (i wouldnt know as i dont have ADHD)?

  • hey thanks caferacer23. i don't think it's laziness either. so many people say it is, but it doesn't make sense to call it laziness.

    people with add have been shown to have a physically different brain than others who don't have attention problems.

    it's not laziness, it's something else.

  • ADD is not a real disorder, but if you believe it is and that you have it, you'll develop it, and they can sell you medication.

    yeah, thinking it's a problem won't help. work with it and understand it, don't fix it.

  • @sk8bow I don't even think its a valid disorder. That "chemical imbalance" idea was always just a hypothesis, its never been shown physiologically. To be honest, I think its just a personality type, and it isn't serious until you start thinking you are broken and discounting your abilities, "Oh I couldn't get a job like that because of my ADD." That kind of thinking is exactly what your doctor wants, he wants you trapped and dependant on his drugs.

    well, i'd agree with you if the symptoms that i have weren't present.

    just because you do not know how a person with a.d.d. feels doesn't mean it doesn't exist.

    all i know is that after watching a video four years ago on the subject did i understand what made me different and that has been affecting me since childhood. i never knew.

    i can see how people can dismiss it. if you suffered from add, you would understand.

    i don't take drugs for add.

  • yes, simplify your life. i was into too many hobbies, but i realized that it's hard to juggle soooo many interests. sacrifice and let some interests go and focus on a few of the most benefiting and cherished hobbies and passions in life.

  • AH beta and alpha waves yes! I learned this in ap psychology last year senior year of high school. It has to do with how the process one goes about sleeping! There are four stages which tend to oscillate in certain ways and I think 3 and 4 do until REM sleep occurs which is pretty much the purpose of sleep since that's when you really get restored! Never thought it would be part of a conscious state of mind. Thats awesome.

  • Yes! Fully agree. For me, I have to cut out Facebook for months at a time and it improves my standard of living by 48 degrees.

  • Good idea with the yoga. I haven't thought of that one. When our little one gets really anxious we try EFT (Emotional Freedom Techniques). It is something she can do and often does. Anyone can do it and it works really well.
