Cops focus on low risk upscale areas because you you pay the fines. Arrests in high crime areas are high risk and high expense for authorities. Recently I received a warning for from the city because I have paint peeling on my garage trim. I was given 30 days to make repairs or be fined. I drove down to a low income area & took pics of more than 400 homes with collapsed garages and junk in the yard, etc. Why do only the higher income areas get inspected every year? It's all the same, easy money.

Don't EVER believe anything a cop tells you. The police are not your friends. The police are not there to "serve and protect". It is very much legal for a police officer to lie to a suspect, in fact it's part of their training. Most judges ignore police reports with errors and conflicting evidence, associating it with the "stress of the incident" and "confusion in the heat of the moment". There are some good cops, don't get me wrong. But, the majority of them are not people I would trust.

Yea, they didn't have a search warrent. But the guy let them into his house, so it's fine. Don't let the cop in, invite them in, whatever. If a cop comes to your door, step outside and close the door behind you, if they ask to come in, just say you don't consent to be searched.

You don't have to let them in your house you know. Once you give them permission though they can look as much as they want.
