I honestly don't think so. I think she just ended up being infatuated with him or something and decieded to serve the guy. I mean Kurtis uses the organs of young girls to make heaven smiles... monsters that walk up to you and explode. He could of done the same thing to her (or something just as horrific) But he left her to her own delusion and used it to his advantage.
She could appear normal if need be... that is why she wasn't suspected earlier in the game, and was not found out till she died.
