@1337NoFear1337 you're missing the point. it wasn't to give gourmet meals to posh classy businessmen. it was to make sure combat troops had their bellies filled to keep them going in the cheapest quickest method with food that will be able to keep for long periods of time.
1. Whose food taste the best, Army, Air Force, Navy, or Coast Guard??
2. I've noticed from watching these vids, alot of the food is pre-made. Which of the branches does N-O-T make pre-made food, but cooks & bakes from scratch??
3. Do all of the branches teach u how to BAKE from scratch??
@captnkurt83 if you're going in to be a cook, enlisted mess would be a waste of time. pray that you get sent to either the ward rooms, chiefs mess, or if you're really really lucky, the captain's galley
frank, you cant handle the truth. YES I CAN Chief. well Frank, you're a fuckin' douche

We ate 3 to 4 time a day and had access to fresh vegies, fruits, milk ... can't do that in the Army.

Never had Navy chow. AF chow was actually pretty good. My son joined the Navy and gained weight while at boot.

@roger128917 It depends on what interests you more.. but you're comparing apples to oranges as they are two very different jobs.

Ow and btw, that kitchen seems so bland :( I don't feel like that is really cooking :(
I find cooking to be an art:( not something to trow around in miss conception like that was..
Throw in couple of hundred steaks in automatic frier and that's called cooking? meh:(

As a professional chef who got his start as a USN Mess Management Specialist, I look at this vid with a bit o' nostalgia.
Sure, they weren't cooking Le Cordon Bleu style,...but I've never heard of a guy starving to death whilst in the service.
Anchors Aweigh! And Bravo Zulu to S-2 for feeding these recruits.
