nice confidence!! come a little more over the top of the high notes, watch the style groupings in the eighth notes, and vary your speeds on the trills, fast is impressive but trills can be so much more, nice accompanist!
i don't like the way she plays the "trilli" and how she gives many dynamics .. at first glance she has done a big mistake at 3:59 - 4:00 .. i haven't seen all the execution .. absolutely nothing special anyway good.. practice !!!

soy de argentina, megusta mozart y piazzola.Felicito a la interprete del violin, porque toca con sentimiento, y transmite una gran emocion, y eso es algo que no se adquiere con practica, es algo con lo que se nace.
wow this blew me away the first time I heard it!t was weird cos the style is how I imagine myself to play it, (minus ur superior tech haha)+ felt like I understood what your intentions wth the piece were. cool
I suppose the performers think that my comments about the ending were unfair, and they would be right. You both played brilliantly. It was quite wonderful, and a joy to listen to.
A full ritard would have been in very poor taste here (this also applies to any Mozart Allegro I can think of). The very last arpeggio can take a bit of subtle placing which was the effect I went for. It's a pretty enigmatic ending in fact, and meant to usher in the next movement.
The following movement is a very slow, sweet, expressive Adagio. It doesn't make sense to just plunge into it headlong, at breakneck speed. I would think that a (even just subtle) ritard would set that transition up better. Besides, you seemed to ritard a bit on the final eighth notes, but then you sped up on the 16th note driven arpeggio that ends the work. We can argue all day, but my initial reaction was that you ended on a crazy knee jerk. I think first impressions are very important here...
um... no... that's mean and stereotypical. I have so many friends who are amazing at violin, and they are some of the most down to earth people I know!
Si puedo clarificar - es mi estudiante en musica de camara, y tiene solamente dieciseis años. Gracias no obstante. Estoy di acuerdo sobre su potencial.
Thanks for sharing. Now, I'mstarting to appreciate the orchestra . I hope my daughter will someday become interested in learning how to play violin and piano as well. It's very soothing and therapeutic especially when you cannot only hear but see the person playing it.
Unfortunately, we cannot give merit to the last comment as that individual does not know anything about music. In order for someone to be able to critique someone's performance, they must have an "ear" for music. DUDE !!! YOU HAVE Rick Astley - Never Gonna Give You Up AS A FAVORITE !!! In my books thats a complete FAIL as a music critic !!! Awesome performance, I enjoyed your passion overall, that is what really makes music good, not perfection.
great performance. excellent technicality and i would say its (very) clean. But somehow it doesnt feels complete, like there is something missing. I feel that you might be a little uptight and too focus on your posture. there are still room for improvement for the musicality part. Try to feel more and be absorbed in the music.
Dont be offended, Just my 2cents worth. :P
Btw, the end notes could be done better too, feels abit like u are rushing to finish off the piece
Where I live no women I know have compasion to music anymore like you do !( I havent met a female musician around my area for over 18 years !). Congrats to you and for appreciating music and learning the fine arts of music. That wa sa nice piece and enjoyed it thoroughly. WD . cheers

Well congratulations on a brilliant daughter! So good to hear such clarity and expression. I know how hard the violin is to play at all! Greatness can cause the loonies to get a little frisky.
Excelente, realmente comunicas lo hermoso que es la música y lo que quieres interpretar; gracias por tan lindo video. Ojalá muchos más estudien música.
i like your interprutation :) i'm 15 and i play bassoon and i'm totally inlove with mozart atm, this is one of my favourite concertos by him and i think you did it great justice :)
must read this. once u have started there is no turning back. a little 10 year old girl was raped and murderded in 1945. her body was not found until 1947. then a boy last week read this and did not copy and paste this message. the dead girl appeared in his room haunting him and killed him. if you do not copy and paste this onto 10 vidoes in 30 minutes the dead girl will apear in your room tonight and haunt you and kill you. well you
Nice trills!! I love the vibrato also! Definetly does not lack energy! She seems so into her violin playing.
Please explain how she is lacking in energy because I am seeing all kinds of energy being expressed in her performance and body language. Look how much emotion she has on her face as she plays. Could you have this much emotion on your face and still play this difficult Mozart piece by memory? I know I can't. She is impressive!!
Grandecoglion, from what I know of Caeli, and the great person and player that she is, she will actually take your advice to heart. However, I would like to let you know that I study violin seriously, and, while I am NOWHERE as good as Caeli is, (and will never be), I can realize that this is special. Everyone hits some intonation problems in performances, as we don't have frets liek your guitars (trust me, I LOVE metal).
I think that this is superb and maybe you shouldnt be so harsh.
Caeli-again I am blown away by your wonderful playing. There is something special in the way you perform-not many people have that. Not only do you hit all the notes wonderfully, but I hear a strong sense of direction. You know exactly what you want to do with every single note and where each note is supposed to go. Mozart is one of the hardest things to play and you have just proven that you can pull it off with great flair, beauty and accuracy while still being historical. Kudos!
I swear I've never heard such controlled but natural trills in my life! Sometimes accurate trills can sound like the person is really trying hard but it seems so easy for you. They're just perfect for mozart. What etudes have you used to practice your trills?
people! please don't attack me after you read my comment, but I would like to say that sometimes I enjoy this girl's playing more than Hahn's playing. This girl has lots of personality and liveliness in her playing. Hillary is amazing technically, but she can be boring sometimes.
Utterly, utterly lovely. My sincerest compliments. It is nothing short of astonishing that you perform with such seemingly effortless naturalness, even though I am sure you worked terribly hard to achieve this high level of proficiency! You remind me so much of my own daughter, a ballerina, when she was your age. You, like she did, exude joy, grace and femininity throughout a brilliant performance.
Woooow!!! Unfortunately this is only a pc screen and I'm only a 'fake audience', but that deserves a standing ovation!!!!
Caeli, you're wizard with that instrument.
Seriously, as with each and every piece you post, I stand (ok then, I sit) in awe! Beautiful and touching rendition of a lovely composition. I look forward to a concert being uploaded with orchestra! That would really nail it completely.
Sorry! I was about to upload take 2, but for some reason the video is out-of-sync with the sound (?) and I'm not sure how to fix that. So right now there is only one take!
lol, like so many Classical pieces (Liebesträume No. 3 as a prime example), I heard the repetition and thought you meant '2 compressed takes'. I might not have listened to it as closely as I did if you had not had an upload issue, so I am glad it went like this and I made the time to study it. I especially enjoyed the ending you put on this piece and your progression was very expressive which exhibited a rich creative talent on your part. Give the pianist my regards, he is good too.
In essence your bowing Technique added textural polyphony in the ending and a tasteful air of dissonance that gave a modern signature to the ending. This is just the opinion of a musically illiterate dolt on youtube that made that last statement though, mind you, lol...
Take one seemed more a purist rendition with clean classical tone and phrasing and I loved the way you expressed emotion on your face in the first take as it fit the progression of the piece very smoothly. The grin from ear to ear in the seconds surrounding the 3 minute mark showed your confidence and poise.
The second take was however my preference for the technical prowess you exhibited in capping of the composition with more evolved bowing technique. I will have to watch it over and over now.
Is this a riddle? Or are you just seeking different perspectives? Since I must strain until my brain pops to find anything resembling a flaw in your performances, it will take me several listens to hear what I would judge as 'better' in either but I will listen hard and let you know my humble opinion.

Well played - and very well recorded; some of the best violin sound I've heard on YouTube.

Any way you slice it your performance entertains and soothes. *****/***** 5/5 Stars!

I hope I am correct in assuming you included both takes in this single performance?
quinoacat 3 years ago
Sorry! I was about to upload take 2, but for some reason the video is out-of-sync with the sound (?) and I'm not sure how to fix that. So right now there is only one take!
alicelizard 3 years ago
lol, like so many Classical pieces (Liebesträume No. Give the pianist my regards, he is good too.
quinoacat 3 years ago
In essence your bowing Technique added textural polyphony in the ending and a tasteful air of dissonance that gave a modern signature to the ending. This is just the opinion of a musically illiterate dolt on youtube that made that last statement though, mind you, lol...
quinoacat 3 years ago
