I live 5 minutes away from the epicentre in rolleston. It was not fake! And just because its an earthquake does not mean that everything just falls over! In our house we had stuff falling out of the pantry and the fridge decided to walk out of its spot, but the iron standing up on the iorning board, which has a hard time staying up under nomal circumstances, didn't even move!!

Definitely NOT fake. This is 100% real but i would like to point out that unlike most of the city you can see that the power stayed on in this part of town. Which means that the shaking was probably less violent there then in some other places in the city. This footage is REAL. But it was probably in a less affected area of the city.

@nemail99 I suspect it's becuse the stock is not moving the way you'd "expect" it would in an earthquake. You'd "expect" it to fall about the place. In saying that though, my own first reaction is not necessarily "fake" - chances are, the building has been designed to withstand earthquakes up to a certain point, given that New Zealand does tend to be quite vulnerable to them due to geography. Some people might not realise this though.

I live 5 minutes away from the epicentre in rolleston. It was not fake! And just because its an earthquake does not mean that everything just falls over! In our house we had stuff falling out of the pantry and the fridge decided to walk out of its spot, but the iron standing up on the iorning board, which has a hard time staying up under nomal circumstances, didn't even move!!

Christchurch earthquake wasn't actually centers in Christchurch or as people say darfield it's centered in between Kirwee and darfield it was closer to Kirwee than darfield or ChCh basically Wat I'm trying to say is that is u think that's bad I live 2km away from the fault line Christchurch is 35km away so it was worse were I live

Definitely NOT fake. This is 100% real but i would like to point out that unlike most of the city you can see that the power stayed on in this part of town. Which means that the shaking was probably less violent there then in some other places in the city. This footage is REAL. But it was probably in a less affected area of the city.

Sonny Bill was taking a big dump at around half 4 early in the morning unfortunately. He should have known that such big ego's don't fit down pipes that size, he clogged the sewer system and it blew kind of like Guadalajara etc and so he said on the news he had to use a plunger and with the motion of plunging and shifting the poos back and forth and it registered on the Richter scale.

this is real footage, i live in Christchurch and it was a bad earthquake, it does look worse because the camera swings, but you do have to remember this is a big building, it has been made to survive earthquakes with as little damage as possible.

@nemail99 I suspect it's becuse the stock is not moving the way you'd "expect" it would in an earthquake. You'd "expect" it to fall about the place. In saying that though, my own first reaction is not necessarily "fake" - chances are, the building has been designed to withstand earthquakes up to a certain point, given that New Zealand does tend to be quite vulnerable to them due to geography. Some people might not realise this though.
