  • si si si claro que si ben judith

  • Sweet--they did a great job on the Buddy Holly classic. Ben was great in the Cars and seems like he was a great guy all around.

  • Benjamin, you are missed so much...

  • Ver estas imagenes de un hombre tan hermoso, me da pena saber que termino asì, recuerdo esta canciòn tan buscada cuando tenìa 10 años , pero el era inmortal en el escenario

  • I love the picture of him on stage at the end of the video. Do you have the picture available to share? Where and when was it taken?

  • Ben is resting peacefully in a cemetary here in Ohio an hour from my house with a very humble marker on his grave. All it has is his name DOB, date of death, and a guitar engraved in it. A class act all around and never one to act superior to anyone. Its so tragic to see him there and not playing in The Cars anymore, life sucks.

  • Too sad. Rest peacefully, Ben.

  • I am grateful that I started high school in 1979 and was able to see the Cars in LA many times and hear Ben sing. I can blame The Cars (& those walkmans) for my hearing loss. He had a one and only voice that music will never replace. He may be gone but his voice will live forever.

  • Fantastic audio quality :)

  • What's the tattoo of on Ben's right arm? 1:02

  • @CAZJANE It is a Chinese Dragon. He had it done when The Cars were recording Heartbeat City in 1984.

  • So long that I love you . And even the rest of my life for love. RIP my sweet Ben. That your soul is eternal.

  • Nice Post, Ben was a great loss to the musical world R.I.P. Ben & Thanx for all you have given us fans.

  • Thank you for this wonderful tribute. The pictures of Ben in his last year are especially touching, a true testament to Ben's spirit...he lives on in his music & that's exactly what he wanted. God bless your soul Ben...miss you.

  • 1:23 It's just not right, and it's not fair. Of all the musical artists of the past, if I had the chance to go back and meet any one of them, it would be Benjamin Orr.

  • A very handsome man...a great songwriter and singer! Well, yes he played bass too. We miss you very much - see you on the other side!

  • We miss you so much BEN.

..HAPPY TO SEE THIS ....BUT IT HURTS ......MY FIRST FAV BAND 1979.....

  • FOREVER " DRIVE " BEN YOU ARE THE GREATEST SINGER I LIKE YOU SO MUCH

  • Great video for a great guy who died way to young. :(

  • Love to you all fans of this giant in music that Orr was. Rest in peace buddy. You will never be forgotten. Thx for sharing your voice with our best moments in life. Alby from Rio.

  • Nice! Thanks.

  • Love ya and miss ya daily Ben...

    one of the BEST ever!

  • When Ric shared this treasure with me on MySpace I was very grateful. I thought it was very generous of him. A great song that I truly enjoy. Thanks Ric

  • Because if it IS sung by Ben, it sounds so sweet, soft, beautiful, and heart-warming. Lovely voice. <3

  • Beautiful tribute to a beautiful man. <3 The song is sung by Benjamin, right? <3

  • So much class and life to end....RIP Sweet Ben.

  • So much class and life to end....RIP Sweet Ben

  • He has the best voice. Him and Paul McCartney.

  • What a great tribute video, where did you find this song?

  • Man, he was as skinny as Ric. Thats so sad. R.I.P Benjamin

  • I miss him so much. I would be so appreciative to get this song if you are still willing to share.....

  • Wish I could rewind to1978 and bring back the "GOOD OLD DAYS"

  • 1:24 its sad to even look at what cancer made of him...a pale shade yet he was himself till the end ;(

  • fantastic thank you

  • Didn't know that he was dead, i just fancy listening to cars on you tube, then i notice tributes to him omg how sad.

He did have a fantastic voice,I shall miss him

    RIP

  • Wonderful

  • This is wonderful.

  • Why God took Ben so soon befuddles me .... But I am not the one in charge here !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am pissed at my God for his action here... But I am happy to know that Ben is happy now.... He was a gift to the Cars !!! and today's music misses him !!

  • What a great tribute here.. I did shed a tear or 2 and I don't care !!!

Ben was taken to heaven 20 years 2 soon ................

    Gruss Michael .

  • @rekleas Dasselbe geschieht mit mir, "The Cars" ist meine Lieblingsband und wenn ich höre seine Lieder mich zurück in meine Kindheit

  • R.I.P Ben, such a super, humble guy as well as talented. Thanks for making the 80's music scene so very special.

  • This is absolutely beautiful........Oh Benjamin... love you and miss you...

  • Ric put this out there for us....that was a nice treat for him to share!

  • Thank you so much josse1975 for this video. I love him so much and this video did make me cry. It's so unfair he died so young. He truly is so special and as Ric wrote in his song for Ben "my brave". I miss him so much and try to console myself by celebrating his life by watching the videos on here of him. He was just so charismatic, charming, sexy.....the whole package, and a nice person to go with it all......so very rare. I love the pics you used for the vid. Thanks again.

  • This shows what a demon cancer is. I hate the way it takes good people away. He was beautiful inside and out. I saw him in concert and he was amazing. Ten years gone but never forgotten.

  • @Twinkle3067 Yes, sure, just send me a PM with your email address, so I'll can send it to you.

  • Two words: CANCER SUCKS

  • wonderful v\ideo! I never heard Ben sing this song, what a treat! It is hard to see those pictures of him where he is so frail and sick. He is loved and missed.

  • The Late Great Buddy Holly wrote this song!

  • He made me sing out loud at a very young age..love that voice!

  • with that voice he was the heart & soul of cars.

  • Yes, he was a true inspiration ..brave and strong right up until his passing.

What a special gift his was.

You are so missed and loved, Ben.

  • Seeing Ben Orr in this tribute is a true memory of him. I saw the last interview he was in with the rest of his band-mates and you could tell he was not doing too well. R.I.P

  • I read Ben's obituary ten years ago in the LA Times. He was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in May 2000. Instead of giving in to a sure death sentence, Ben hit the road and toured right up until his death in October of the same year. The man died with his boots on. You are an inspiration, Benjamin. Rest in peace, brave, good one.

  • Seeing Ben so thin.. Its almost unbelievable when you compare him to the 80s or the 70s. Its a strange experience. Similar to seeing Freddie Mercury In the year before he died, its just unreal...

  • And on the drums Mr Glenn Evans! Kudos Glenn!

  • Dang.... where can I find this song? Don McLean sang this song! I can't seem to fine any cds of Benjamin Orr, Why can't I find anymore songs of his??? Even I tune doesn't t seem to include all of Benjamin's hits other than Lace.

  • Beautifully done video and Ben's voice is so nice to hear singing this song.

  • Oops - I meant 1:34.

  • The group shot at 1:37 is fascinating because you can see the guys' personalities. Ben looks strong, like he's saying, don't pity me. David and Elliot look friendly and open, while Greg and Ric seem distant and reserved, especially Ric.

    Thanks for posting. Lovely job.

  • Great video, thanks for making it.

  • excelente cancion para un grande que fue y sera un grande de grande ben nunca morira vivira en nuestros corazones yimmy peru

  • Thank you so much for posting this. I've always loved Ben so much. This was sad yet beautiful to watch and listen to. They did that Buddy Holly song GREAT! Just today I had wondered how he signed his name and then saw it on here. It was an interesting signature. I wonder what that tatoo was of on his arm. Missin' and lovin' you so much Ben!

  • GREAT video.

    Ben was the best!

  • Thank you, for what you did with those pictures. What a great tribute!

  • the pictures of Ben looking so frail are very sad indeed. if anyone has that final interview of the whole band, i'm sure i will not be alone in thanking you very much for posting it.

  • Put "Benjamin Orr Interview" in the search box and you'll see the six parts listed. I had just found out on 31 Oct that be had died - pancreatic cancer. He was doing gigs up to just under a week before he finally died. The interview is from june and he died on Oct 3rd - how the hell he had the energy to do it is beyond me. There is some 1995 footage from a Boston event where he still looks robust, the photos from the end of his life made me too so sad. From what I've read about him and...

  • his life, he seemed like he had his head on pretty straight for someone who had actual success in the music industry. Towards the end of the "final interview" he actually answers a question with (not a quote) on the stage it was an act, once the show was over it was over, he kept one foot on the ground. I guess being in their early 30's kept the group more on the ground than teenage overnight "stars". I miss him, he has such a beautiful voice.

  • thank you for the heads-up on the interview re-posting. I think i have seen the 1995 concert you are referring to. i knew he had passed for some time now, but when i did hear the news, it took the wind out of my sails.

  • Nice tribute to Ben.

We should all make an effort to really LIVE each day to the fullest.

  • sad, loving, sweet, beautiful,.... thank you very much....

  • Beautiful song sung by Ric and Ben

Do you ever wonder treasures that you miss...Check out our page for more rare tunes

Esta versión de Ric y Ben no está en ningún lado, la ripié del MySpace de Ric que la colgó como rareza. Saludos.

  • Does anyone own this song - Everyday? I have the original version by Buddy Holly, but I`d like to have the version by Ric and Ben. I would appreciate it!

  • Hi aludar. If you want, I can send it to you by email.

  • That`s great! You made my day happier. THANKS SO MUCH!!!!! I`ll send to you my email address.

BTW: Isn`t this song from the Cap'n'Swing times, is it?

  • No it is from Ocasek and Orr....they did that line up for a while

  • I thought Ben Orr lived longer than 2000. Too bad. He was great.

  • Will I ever be able to look at a picture of Benjamin Orr when he was at the end of his life and not get a giant lump in my throat? Probably not. He and the other members of The Cars were pioneers in music and their music will live on forever, even though Benjamin does not. There will never be another Benjamin Orr, he was one of a kind. Rest well sweet Benjamin, you are still loved and sorely missed by so many.

  • I get the lump in my throat too, Barb...

  • You stated it perfectly. Nothing else for me to add. Makes me heartsick.

  • Totally agreed! Small tears in my eyes...

  • Aunque mi favorito siempre ha sido David Robinson eso no me impide reconocer que Benjamin Orr era guapo a rabiar, con una voz preciosa y buena persona. Es muy duro ver las imágenes de sus últimos meses de vida.

  • So sad! Ben was so thin at the end!

  • I don't know if I will keep this as a favorite or not. It's nothing personal. Sometimes reality just sucks :(

  • beautiful, painful sweet & sad.

  • ...actually the look I see on David Robinson's face as his hand is on your shoulder, is pride.Protective and proud to have you as a friend and colleague, and knowing personally, more than any fan can possibly concieve, just what a fantastic person you are.Benjamin Orr, we all wish that we were as lucky as David and the other band members to have been so close to you.You are dearly missed, and I feel proud to have been a fan, and still am.Rock on in Heaven Benjamin, you are in our hearts forever :)

  • Benjamin Orr, just when I thought you already were an inspiration you go and inspire me even more! The first image of you in your last months, looking physically a shadow of your former self instantly brought me to tears, and David Robinson's arm so lovingly placed on your shoulder shows a special friendship. Then the image of you in your last months playing guitar onstage, still LOOKING like the rock star that you are...my tears stopped and the familiar joy that you inspire in me was back.

  • Such a loss for the music world. Miss you sweet Benjamin

  • Està excelente en verdad esa voz de Ben tan dulce o tan robotica, electronica lo que quisiera hacer y tan guapo.

No cabe duda era un hombre hermoso por dentro y por fuera.

    No te olvidaremos nunca BEN.
