I've "known" Herman Cain since he subbed for Neal Boortz on WSB in Atlanta. I listened to his own radio show when he got it. I went to hear him speak. I have really listened to him and my gut tells me I'm right when I say he is a good, Christian man of good character and his heart is in the right place. You cannot make a sexual harassment allegation against a CEO of a large organization without getting paid. You will get paid, but you must also leave the company. It's called a nuisance settlement.

Basically, the company says, "look, your allegation is bunk. But we don't want to waste our time or spend hundreds of thousands of dollars to destroy your case in court. Here, take this money and get the fuck out of here. We'll call it severance. We admit no wrongdoing and neither does our CEO."

If he wants to deny that he sexually harassed these women that is one thing, but he goes further than that and denies that he remembers settling out of court with them, despite the evidence. The NRA delivered a few-months severance package equivalent to pretty much laying off a meaningless employee with a statement of "no liability" which the accuser agreed to, suggesting she had no case to take to court. She then used that to probably pay off 1/80th of her debts.

You know why I know that's what happened? Because Cain knows there are written records of the case with the NRA.
