if u like catching sheep head go to indian rive side park and on he look down at the sheephead down near where the boats park and you see monster sheep head also many snapper live there to if you find a pocket in indian river fish in it beacuse that is where the big fish are and lots of snapper
i live in jensen beach i love fishing here also if like catching red fish and trout go into the grass also you can find many schools of bonnet head shark
when I'm fishing for big fish like this do I wanna have the drag on tight? or do i loosen after i set the hook? the when he stops the drag, i can tighten again and real and repeat?
@Porschyyy pretty damn tight, but don't set it too tight or you'll break the line. too loose and when you go to set the hook it just pulls line out without enough pressure to set the hook.
i usually use 20-25lb power pro braided line for redfish. i set the drag to the point where it's pretty tough to pull the line out with my hand
@Porschyyy i wouldn't loosen the drag after you set the hook unless it's a small fish and you want to "play it out." if you tighten the drag too much you'll start to feel your line begin to stretch and could break. you can tighten the drag when the fish gets close (15 ft or so) to the boat to bring it in faster.
oh and be careful not to reel when the drag is being pulled out. this will twist and weaken your line, especially with mono/flouro
Wow super nice video on that monster Red fish. And the sweet sound of braid ripping through the guides is hands down second to none. good job guys !! Sing -on !! check out my video response on ""flyfishing Redfish on the Sand"" Thanks and Goodluck guys.
I am kind'A new to the area and to this type of fish. What do you have on your line? I see a lure and a hook a few inches below that at the end of your line? Am I correct?
