I'm sorry but I find it hard to believe that you can actually shoot lasers that fast for the whole level without some kind of cheat or tool. Fox also starts the level with 55 lives, which is just impossible.

Also, how come you got Hit+10 when you beat the boss? I swear I always get Hit+5.

Anyone can shoot lasers that fast without cheat... Just that YOU can't. If you want more lives, you can actually build it up? Make it 299 total hits in the previous level, then get at least 101 hits next. Gain 2 lives and loose 1 to retry 55 time. Simple math. You got Hit+5 cause you couldn't beat the boss in the first chance. Sorry pal, conclusion, just that you are not as good.

Mmm... Admittedly, I should have gone and tried that level again before posting. Yes, it appears one can fire lasers that fast, and funnily enough when I next beat that boss I got Hit+10. I had always beaten him on the first chance before, but I still seem to remember getting Hit+5... Ah well.

It is possible to get 55 lives.

Lets say you are at Zoness, and you complete it with 400 or more kills. you get 4 lives. Now lets say after it you hit "Retry Level (Lose an Arwing)". You get 3 lives, and can easily be spammed to 55 or even 80 (with patience, you have to continuously play Zoness or some other highscoring level.) (However you cannot do it here, because you instantly go to Venom after this level.

I'm guessing that his extra ship count drops so much because he continually killed himself whenever he didn't get a score to his liking so he could restart at the checkpoint and try for a better run. For obvious reasons, the times he killed himself aren't shown in the video.

The first half of the run was pure gold.

The second half, let's just say the brakes are there for a reason on this stage. You missed at least 100 hits on the second half due to not using the brakes enough, probably a lot more.

You can get freaking amazing amounts of hits with proper brake use. It helps save your wings (makiing it MUCH easier to rack up hits) and it helps get more hits before moving on. I've never seen it done, but it MAY be possible to get over 850 hits on this stage.

It's not possible to go that high in this level. In nangosan's tool assisted run, he proved that. it's possible to MAYBE reach 800 if everything was EXACTLY perfect, but it's very unlikely.

Saying that's possible on an actual N64 run is madness.
