3. If you have it, delete it. It's a virus created to run with winlogin.exe, so it's nearly undetectable.

Try turning off your AV and running Conficker, that might just fix it.

Rubbish - NONE of this stuff will noticeably speed up your computer. There is only ONE thing that will speed up your computer to lightning fast speed - and that is to erase unused drive space on your C drive. (Use Eraser)

There is only one catch to doing that - and that is after restart it will just slow down again. That part I have yet to figure out.

Doing this sure DO help. But it usually only speeds you computer up by maybe 2% at best.

Small though sometimes noticeable amount.

And about RAM costs...it really depends if it's SDRAM, DDR1, DDR2 or DDR3.

Since SDRAM is the oldest, it is the most expensive. DDR2 is the cheapest for now.

Also check if there is any unnecessary programs running at the same time.

1. Do not use that Windows Disk Cleanup Utility! I don't know why it happend, but for some reason it once deleted very important files.

2. Keep in mind it has been shown that defragging wastes more time than it saves: if you add up all the extra seconds you have to wait, compared to the time it needs to defrag. So only do it if you're SURE you won't need the PC for some time. Also the Windows Defrag is quite slow and it sometimes claims it's finished when it obviously isn't.

Use google to find some!
