  • English C.C.A -__-

  • I just love the fact that the short story this was based on was written by Roald Dahl! Brings a whole new feeling to this story, considering how famous he became for writing children's stories. Although even those have their own "dark" elements.

  • j'ai regardé sa en classe d ' anglais en France .

  • o classic Alfred Hitchcock

  • Interesting episode.

  • Thanks for posting. It might have been wiser, though, not to give away the twist in your synopsis, for those who don't know the story.

  • omg shes retarded to call the police

  • Oh no, not Miss Ellie!

  • Sherlock Holmes is better than this

  • Never say "try and stop me" to a woman with frozen leg of lamb in her hands.

  • Just yesterday, I had a short story assignment, and I had to write a summary of whichever short story I'd like. I was searching for some old short stories online, and found this one. I love it! I think the story's a bit better than this, but this is still very good. :D

  • The Doc was played by my HS drama/english teacher, Tom Wild. We remained friends for 30 yrs and he paid my entrance fee into the Screen Actors Guild. I acted with him on screen 3 x. He told me Hitch was late coming to the set this episode. Next the large studio doors open and a Uhall trailer was backed in. The doors opened and there was Hitch sitting inside the trailer that was completely decorated inside to look like his den. Hitch then said; "We may begin". His sence of humor was contagious.

  • I watched and read this in English this week.

  • hahaa im watching this for englishh ;D

  • The only thing better then being able to watch these shows on YouTube, is watching them in one full part episode! :D. I use my iPhone connected to my TV. When they are broken up into parts I have to keep getting up & finding the next part.

How are people putting up videos this long anyway? I've tried to put up videos in the past but it didn't allow me to upload over 10min lenth vids. But I see people uploading entire movies over one hour. Not on official channels either. So I dunno how they s

  • Something here is different from the book. Anyway, I like the way the author wrote. Nice short story.

  • physco laugh at the end :|

  • This provides a good alternative reading, to that portrayed in the book...

  • they need Columbo!

  • @mycorolla07 nah he was shit, they need jessica fletcher

  • I remember watching that lady on "Dallas"

  • damn that girl's cute.

  • I had that exact stove (Best stove I ever had) in an old apartment I rented years ago.... BTW, she forgot to salt and pepper the murder weapon.

  • Scum of the earth deserves what I think he's gonna get!

  • fucking 1000 words character analysis essay on Mary due tomorrow, haven't even started .

  • this was so... genius..

  • There's GOT to be a *burp* murder weapon around here SOMEWHERE... ;])

  • Terrific actor--plays an *** to the hilt. ;])

  • And that is why you don't underestimate a woman!

  • only reason i came here was because i read this story in my ela class in school hahahah

  • @biggybad100 same here, creeped me the hell out but so fucking awesome

  • I laughed so hard when she was talking him to death and he was like I wanna divorce, that shut her up

  • I am currently studying Lamb to the Slaughter at school. this is a very good rendition of this story, and the actors are quite well suited to the story. unfortunately, a lot of the irony was lost as some of the dialogue that was clever was not used, and some dialogue were added. wonderful rendition of the ending, though!

  • @rem2267 You must be out of your mind. Barbara Bel Geddes is very good in this episode

  • Miss Rollin English :)

  • This would be the perfect episode had it not starred Barbara Bel Geddes. Her voice and the way she carries herself ALWAYS - in any role she has EVER played - sound and look as if he was mortally, suicidally deprssed. She also somehow manages to makes it sound as though EVERYTHING she says is a question, even when many of them are statements. God-awful. She's terrible. Because she's always a whiner of the first degree, I never have pity for her characters. Love the story though - a shame.

  • "well thats the way the old meatball bounces" LOL:D haha 24:19

  • the story was much better than the movie

  • I like this :)

Lmao I read this in english class

  • i read this in English class..

  • prego psycho !!

  • "He's tired.. He's tired.. He's tired.." Maloney, you're insane.

  • Mrs. Isaacs period 6 and 7 anyone?

  • "Try and stop me..."

    BAM!

i consider him pretty much stopped

  • The story was much better.

  • @montagesANDdisputes it always is

  • Mrs Bollen's English class 1999 anyone? It'd be the creepiest coincidence if it was you C**!*! Sorry I said you had a bald patch. Good thing we didn't have post-PE showers together. Hope you came off the drugs + didn't give yourself schizophrenia. I've put that Big Train sketch in my Favourites to celebrate a breakthrough in therapy. Tho 457 like it so maybe it's not such a coincidence.

  • ENGLISH FTW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • "This brown crispy stuff on the end"

  • Mrs. Rice's 3rd period anyone? :D

  • meat hits head , dude falling down , man says "blahh i am dead "

  • GET A JOJ

  • This film is stupid - a subtle drama of human weakness and revenge is turned into a farce...Alfred Hitchcock ought to be sued by Roald Dahl for slaughtering his superlative short story...

  • actually a film can never match up to a book because it interferes with the reader's imagination - I remember being v disappointed by Lady Margarite Blakeney in the film version of The Scarlet Pimpernel, when I saw it several years after reading the novel...

  • 1st Period Mrs. Davidson anyone?

  • 21:53 TWSS!

  • She did buy ingredients from the store before calling the police.

    10:35-10:44

  • He always shows a nice sense of humor in the opening and closing bits.

  • watched this yesterday in my english class.....every1 hated it...lol

  • Wow my english teacher read us the book and told us to go and watch it online, they messed up the whole entire thing!

  • GOT DO WATCH THIS BULLSHGIT FOR FUCKING ENGLISH...

    LIKE IF YOU HAVE TOO

  • i saw this at english! today

  • I read this book for school! So cool to see the film I gotta tell teacher about it :)

  • Comment removed

  • That's a really nice story. Very clever how she destroys the evidence...

  • "Well, that's the way the meatball bounces..."

  • if i have a sexy wife like that, i wouldn't divorce her, I'd fuck her and screw her and make love to her 24/7 non-stop until the end of time.

  • 6:34 Good Girl!

  • My teacher recommended the movie to me, I thought it was quite interesting. Even though Patrick should have showed a little bit more emotion when telling his wife about the unexpected divorce. Also I'm so team Mary, even though she has serious dementia. Lol Alfred Hitchcock is amazing, there was still some form of ambiguity kept through out the story

  • GOOD ONE! LOL!

  • ....what this "ring test" she's talking about? I've never heard of it. And, applying to the video, that was the MOST CASUAL divorce announcement I've ever heard. I mean, geez! You're leaving your pregnant wife for your mistress!

  • Miss Ellie rocks.

  • who's molly?

  • I know it's Alfred freggin' Hitchcock I'm talking about here, but I just think Dahl's short story is so much better. It builds up much more tension, plus all of earweatwry46u7uy5i68's reasons. This version is alright, but it's just a bit blandly handled. No offence, Hitch, we all still love ya.

  • Amazing! Masterpiece.

  • love the joke in the title....the lamb did the slaughter!

  • fuckin rocked him hahaaa... i fucking hate summer school..

  • And that is why you don't try to leave your PREGNANT wife

  • @rose8662174923 nice one!

  • The females acting was pretty great, the man's was terrible. The scoring and camera work is what is expected of something from this period. I enjoyed it.

  • so glad to see this one again..it was always one of my favorites...

  • 6:19 he did ask for it...

  • She definitely trolled the detectives

and yeah I find reading the story better than the short movie adaption

  • "You probably know the story of the two goats who are eating up cans containing reels of a film taken from a bestseller. And one goat says to the other 'I prefer the book!'" - A. HItchcock speaking to F. Truffaut

  • I learnt this in English today aswell!

My friend Patrick said she was pregnant :P

  • People need to understand this film's purpose was not to capture exactly what happened in the original short story, the director purposely changed it up a bit.

  • in our class we watched it and read it

  • I didnt watch it in my english class, my class had to read it, at least we could use our imagination

  • 6:34

  • She had it coming to her

  • Bonjour, je suis français (Hello, I'm french) Cette histoire à été écrite par Rohald Dahl en français en premier (Rohald Dahl wrote this story in french first) Le nom original en français est (The french title is) : "Coup de gigot". Merci (Thank you)

  • @DTVALD et alors? Le nuage anti-Tchernobyl était QUE français. Cocorico ? pas vraiment

  • Those of you complaining "They messed up the story", go to 25:28 - It says "Teleplay by ROALD DAHL From his own Story".

  • Hey, there are now 2 uses for meat .. .. ..

  • Nice to...

    *puts on sunglasses*

    MEAT you.

    YYEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAH!

  • @Soopahkoopah101

It's probably right under our noses

    haha

  • @SelenaGomezzgirl I know, and right in their mouths LOL

  • I saw this when it first appeared on TV. I've always thought this was a good idea about how to get away with murder!

  • @AnotherSpecialEdMom I really miss television shows like this -I grew up watching these shows-Televison today is such a joke

  • Actually, he IS a "divorcing jerk" in the original - only curt answers till he tells her the news, more concerned abt job than kid. ("But there needn’t really be any fuss....wouldn’t be very good for my job.”) He's quiet, but it's not clear he's depressed. The reason he leaves is not in the story (hard to do this on TV w/out audience feeling cheated); it never says he's leaving at all. But we can assume both. M. didn't mess up house or call friend in original - minor details, tho. Well done!

  • I like it! Thank you!

  • i like the short story better but it was good

  • you've gotta be shitting me.... this is the most boring short story made into a show????

  • @Clinster246 - Why do you have question marks at the end of a statement? You didn't ask any question.

  • @rem2267 it's showing how I'm in disbelief over a very boring short story I read during english

  • u can not put meat from frezzer into oven

  • This was written by Roald Dahl and was also an episode in 'Tales of the Unexpected'.
