  • mine does the same thing- 2008 jetta wolfsberg 2.0T

  • yeah 6500-6700 is where the red line really should be.

  • red line starts at 6000rpm to warn you, but the safe limit is about 6700...

  • Damn, how come the transmission let the engine goes past redline? lol

  • @xoquixxoqafxo no idea, but it's kind of annoying...it'll do that in sport mode too, best way is to just throw it in manual mode and shift for yourself...it doesn't always go way up to 6700rpm either and i have no idea what the parameters in the transmission programing are to make it do that

  • @mercmilan06

That is weird, the only car I've driven with this engine is a 2010 Audi A4 and it always short shifted even in S mode. That car had a 6700 rpm redline tho so maybe VW was conservative with the redline on the tach. BTW I'm excited for you to get your Focus and upload videos! When should you be picking it up? I want that Focus too but I'm waiting until the ST comes out and to finish with my Bachelors in August :)

  • @xoquixxoqafxo yeah the 2006 A4 we had short shifted in Sport mode too...but the Jetta is not driveable in regular traffic in Sport mode, it is ridiculously aggressive...I'm gonna upload another upload video tonight but we're looking around 6-8 weeks to get the car (closer to 6 if all goes as planned)....I'm SO excited!! You should totally get an ST...that would be so awesome!

  • @mercmilan06

    Get a standard?

  • it is mph tacho right?

  • damn you doing all that on a snowy and wet road LOL brave!!

  • Shit, that thing is quick, LOL.

  • @04smallmj it's so fun! love that DSG! haha
