I remember a super nice late model Lincoln 2 door that was crushed,it did not have a scratch on it and looked like new. Around here,they drained the oil and then filed the crank case with watered down concrete.

I get payed by the job, and clunkers were paying 1 hour flat rate. So it was a race to get the most hours. That's why that was the most fun part of the day.
CFC wasn't all that bad. Although it took many perfectly driveable vehicles off the road, it made for an abundance of used parts for those of us still driving clunkers. I needed an alternator and a dizzy for my bronco and the scrapyard was full of clunker ford trucks. I just feel bad for all the customers that traded in there old reliable clunker for a camry with accelerator issues!

Those cars are seriously CLASSIC, I mean, they are nicer, more powerful, and better looking than most all the plasticized, cookie cutter POS's out there these days. What a shame, the torque curve on the old C series Honda V6's was SO nice, the C series was, in fact, used in the NSX until the end of it's production (C30A and C32B)

@ore83 Ford ranger went over 7 minutes with no oil and sodium silicate in its crankcase. Thats tough. Besides, this thing was obviously a POS or our AMERICAN government wouldnt have considered it a clunker. It doesnt get good mileage and it wasnt worth 4500 dollars or it wouldnt have qualified.

Stupid prior owner imo. C4C did you hear it purring along with no oil at high rpm. We Legend club members would have taken good care of this one. It only had 206K miles. Mine has 263K and runs fantastically. Well shows us how government intervention isn't always a good thing.
It was actually the highlight of my day. I called dibs on it, drove it in drained the oil drove it out and added the "liquid glass". I killed well over 25 clunkers in the last few weeks.
that is heart breaking .......that car still had another 150k miles on it. instead of ruining the legend they should donate it to some one who needs a car.
