For some odd reason this has become a major discussion and most of the people involved in discussion have never taken the time to either read Sri Guru Granth Sahib or Dasam Granth. I have grown up in a family where my grandfather spent 30 years of his life researching and researching some more about Dasam Granth along with Sri Guru Granth Sahib.
I am very sorry to say this that your grandpa simply wasted 30 years of his life doing research on BN and yet could not see through the writing on the wall that such PORNO material could not have been written by any decent person leave alone Guru Gobind Singh ji.
Contd....People would come to him who would have the indecency of using bad words for Dasam Granth and my Grandpa would knock the sense in them...and they would go back totally amazed. It breaks my heart seeing people taking the liberty of talking negatively about Dasam Granth especially those who have never taken the time to do any study about it... Contd...
Contd... It may break your heart but I must tell you that your grandpa was not only a pervert if he propagated the filthy porno material of BN as Guru Gobind Singh's Bani but he is also guilty of passing on his misconcepts to his generations, some of whom like you are advising others to read BN as GGS's work. I ask you have you yourself done a through study of BN? Can you use such Porno Filth to teach moral sense to your own daughters and sisters?
Without getting too carried away with my emotions...I have one request to everyone who ever wants to comment on Dasam Granth, is please start reading the Bani first...
Did You know...Ardas, Jaap Sahib and Tav Prasaad Savaayeeyai...all come from Dasam Granth. Dasam Granth gives us clarity of we don't worship anybody else...'Kishan Bishan mein kabhoo naa dhyeeoon' regardless or relating the entire stories of Ram in Ram Avtar and Krishan's in Krishna avtaar.
No boss, it is you who is being carried away. Did you ever bothered to know why and more importantly since when JAAP SAHIB, ARDAS, TAAV PARSAD SAVAYAI ARE A PART OF sikh rehat maryada ? These banis were made part of Rehat Maryada as a compromise formula between varying Sikh sects to form a uniform code of conduct for Sikhs as late as 1935. Before that there is no proof of any number of fixed banis as a part of nitnem. GET YOUR FACTS RIGHT MR> PHONE NUMBER.
This was done to make us aware of the common stories that surround us and not get suckered into the hype as at the end of the day...Sikh should only be worshipping one and only Waheguru.
That great Guru could have easily included his writings in the Sri Guru Granth Sahib however He didn't coz He felt everything in Sri Guru Granth Sahib was just perfect directions to the house of God. However he shared some very important information...including the clarity that none of the Gurus were Gods
HOW ON EARTH COULD YOU KNOW WHAT GURU GOBIND SINGH JI FELT THREE CENTURIIES AGO. Great ! you want each one of us to believe that GURU GOBIND SINGH JI shared his feelings ONLY WITH YOU. Have some shame and learn to respect our great Gurus. Don't just write anything that you believe is right just because of some stupid research of your ignorant grandpa.
How funny and stupid your argument sounds that Guru Ji took pains to make his Sikhs aware of common stories which are totally against the BASIC TENETS OF SIKHISM and is full of Porno literature.
He told us about His life story and His journey...don't we want to learn about our Fore-fathers...that's our family tree and we should be very proud of our heritage. You can only be proud of who you are once you read about it. Our 10th Great Guru took the time to share the stories of the time which are still prevalent but at the end of each story clarified...these are just stories and I don't worship any of these Avtars.
My advice to all on this board is start reading the bani...every day read a page of Sri Guru Granth Sahib with meanings...read a page of Dasam Granth with meanings every day....spend time meditating in the truest sense and enlighten yourself with knowledge. Please don't get suckered into debates that doesn't help us enhance our lives.
In 1980, Giani Harbans Singh, Chandigarh, wrote the book Dasam Granth Darpan ("Mirror of the Dasam Granth"), and proved that the entire Dasam Granth was written by Guru Gobind Singh.
Professor Piara Singh Padam wrote a book entitled Dasam Granth Darshan, printed in 1968, again proving that the whole scripture was written by Guru Ji.
Pandit Tara Singh Narodam, in his writing, has concurred that the whole of Dasam Granth was written by Guru Gobind Singh.
921541147, You have given references of some scholars who seemingly are (unfortunately though) influenced by the blasphemous PORNO STUFF of BN. Similarly I can post comments and articles of several other Sikh Scholars who condemn the major portion of BN and EVEN THE DAMDAMI TAKSAL CHIEF HARNAM SINGH has confirmed that 1178 pages of the Bachittar Natak are merely a translations of hindu mythological scripts. This proves that BN is a controversial crap.
Bhagwant Singh Hari, son of Bhai Kahn Singh Nabna, wrote Dasam Granth Tuk Tatkara ("Line Index of Dasam Granth"), published in 1969. The preface of this book is written by Dr. Balbir Singh, who was younger brother of the famous scholar Bhai Vir Singh. In that preface, he has written that the entire Dasam Granth is the writing of Guru Gobind Singh
In 1937, Dr. Jaswant Singh of Lucknow published a series of articles in Amrit magazine. This was scholarly research in which after great effort, giving many proofs from the scripture itself and the style of writing, he concluded that the whole book was written by Guru Gobind Singh.
In 1955, Dr. Tarlochan Singh published his scholarly writing in 4 consecutive issues of Sikh Review, giving the history of the compilation of the Dasam Granth. He provided solid proofs
At present there is considerable controversy surrounding the authorship of parts of the collection of the writings of Guru Gobind Singh, the Dasam Granth. The history of this scripture is as follows:
The collected writings of Guru Gobind Singh are known as Dasam Granth. The writings of the poets in his court comprise a different scripture, known as Vidiya Sar ("Pool of Knowledge"). According to a famous history of the Sikhs written in 1843, Suraj Prakash, 52 scholar-poets and 7 pandits always lived in the court of Guru Gobind Singh Ji. The writings of the poets were written on paper in fine script, and according to Suraj Prakash, the weight of this Vidiya Sar was "9 maunds."Contd...
Contd......On the night of 5 December 1705 AD, Guru Gobind Singh left his court in Anandpur, after a long siege by Hindu and Muslim armies. During this departure, the Guru's possessions, including both the Dasam Granth and Vidiya Sar, were carried away by the strong current of the flooding Sarsa stream. However, in those days it was customary to make copies of Guru Gobind Singh's writings and the writings of the poets. Contd...
In addition to the 52 poets and 7 pandits, 39 scribes had lived in Guru Gobind Singh's court. Because of the faith of his devotees, copies of Guru Gobind Singh's writings always exceeded those of the poets, and these copies were kept safely with many devotees.
After Guru Gobind Singh left his mortal body in 1708, religious-minded people began trying to take care of his writings.
First of all, Bhai Mani Singh Shahid (martyr), who was at that time Head Priest at Amritsar and also a great scholar, with great efforts collected the writings of Guru Gobind Singh and compiled one copy thereof.
Bhai Kesar Singh Chhibbarwhose family had been diwans (administrators) of the Gurus, including his great-grandfather who was diwan of the Seventh, Eighth, and Ninth Gurus, whose grandfather and father were diwans of Guru Gobind Singh, and who himself attended Contd...
Contd...Mata Sundri Ji (wife of Guru Gobind Singh)has written in his 1769 book known as Bansavalinama Dasan Patshahian Ka ("Lineage of the Ten Kings"), "This book which contained the life stories of avtars was compiled by Bhai Mani Singh. He provided travel expenses for various people. One Sikh brought a large amount of cash. That cash was used by Bhai Mani Singh to make payments to the Sikhs for expenses in searching for the writings of Guru Gobind Singh."
Only Mata Sundri, Bhai Mani Singh Shahid, and Bhai Shisha Singh (who stayed with Mata Sundri in Delhi and was compiling the Dasam Granth) can know about the authenticity of Dasam Granth. Later, Baba Deep Singh Shahid, Bhai Sukha Singh, and many other religious workers collected the writings of Guru Gobind Singh and edited the Dasam Granth. Among those birs (copies) of Dasam Granth, Contd...
Contd.. those written by Bhai Mani Singh Shahid, the one in the library of Sangrur, and the one in Moti Bagh Gurdwara, Patiala, are at present kept safely. The Dasam Granth preserved at Patna Sahib, the birthplace of Guru Gobind Singh, is also famous. But in these Dasam Granth birs, the banis (sacred writings) are not written in the same order, nor is their number equal. The reason is that as and when the devotees found copies of the writings, they included them in their collections.
Those who had greater means for making these collections were certainly more successful in collecting more banis. But from those birs, many banis are the same and appear to be written from the same one source. It was due to the unavailability of proper means of collection that there were differences in the size and shape of the birs. At first people called the collection Bachittar Natak. Later is was known as Dasmen Patshah da Granth. But now the Holy Book is called Dasam Granth.
After all this research, it is clearly evident that this scripture is great not only due to its religious aspects but also due to its literary merit. The scholars who have studied the Dasam Granth have written great praises of the high standard of its poetry.
As for the writings of the poets in Guru Gobind Singh's court, a few parts of Vidiya Sar have survived and have been published by Bhai Vir Singh as Kavi Darbar of Guru Gobind Singh ("The Poet's Court of Guru Gobind Singh"). The compiled writings of one of those poets was also published about one hundred years ago as the book Asmodh Bhakha. Comparison of the surviving writings of the poets with the writings of Guru Gobind Singh shows that their writing style is clearly different.
In 1902 A.D., Bhai Bishan Singh of Sangrur, son of Bhai Gurdiyal Singh Anandpuri, wrote the book Dasam Granth Sahib Kisne Banaiya? ("Who Created the Tenth Granth?"). According to the method and style of the writings and much other evidence, he proved that the Dasam Granth was written by Guru Gobind Singh.
In 1935, Bhai Sher Singh of Kashmir wrote a book, Dasmesh Darpan ("Mirror of the Tenth Guru") in which he gave many proofs that the Dasam Granth was written by Guru Gobind Singh.
After 1955, people began research of Dasam Granth to obtain PhD degrees. In 1955 Dr. Dharam Pal Ashta and in 1959 Dr. Harbajan Singh proved in their research papers that the entire Granth was written by Guru Gobind Singh. In 1961, Dr. Parsini Sehgal offered her research paper along the lines of the former two scholars.
. Dr. Lal Manohar Upadihiya of Benares University, Dr. Om Prakash Bhardwaj of Agra University, Dr. Sushila Devi of Punjab University, Dr. Shamir Singh of Guru Nanak Dev University, Dr. Mohan Jit Singh of Usmaniya University, Dr. Bhushan Sach Dev of Punjabi University, Dr. Nirmal Gupta of Punjabi University, etc.about two dozen scholars wrote their PhD and DLit research papers on the subject. They have all agreed that the Dasam Granth was written by Guru Sahib.
In that preface, he has written that the entire Dasam Granth is the writing of Guru Gobind Singh.
Prof Piara Singh Padam wrote a book entitled Dasam Granth Darshan, printed in 1968, again proving that the whole scripture was written by Guru Ji.
In 1955, Bhai Randhir Singh, eminent member of Sikh History Society Amritsar, wrote a book entitled Dasme Patshah Ji ka Granth da Itihas ("History of the Tenth Guru's Granth"). After 20 years of labour collecting proofs, he firmly established that the Dasam Granth was written by Guru Gobind Singh. This book was published by the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandak Committee. The first printing was sold out within a few days of its publication, and there was great demand from the public.
From 1892 to 1897, eminent scholars assembled at Akal Takht, Amritsar, to study the various printed Dasam Granths and prepare the authoritative version. In this process, they determined that the Dasam Granth is entirely the work of Guru Gobind Singh. Again in 1931, the Darbar Sahib Committee of the Shiromani Gurdwara Prabandhak Committee proclaimed the same and published a book to this effect.
Nevertheless, the controversy and reluctance to fully accept Dasam Granth lingered. Therefore, scholars appealed to His Holiness Baba Virsa Singh, a highly revered spiritual teacher of Sikh background, to gather scholars to clarify the doubts about Dasam Granth. A seminar was held on January 3rd and 4th, 1999, at the Gobind Sadan Institute in New Delhi, India.
On February 20th, 2000, at Gobind Sadan, His Holiness Baba Virsa Singh released the first complete Punjabi translation
"One who does not accept the Bachiter Natak creation of Guru Gobind Singh Ji is not the sikh of Guru Granth Sahib" quoted by SANT JARNAIL SINGH BHINDRA WALE
Don't misquote people who are no longer alive to counter your claims. Go read bachittar natak to your daughters and sisters ( with meaninigs) and then post your misleading comments here.
You don't have a sister and you are single THEREFORE you don't understand the value of realations. At first I thought its your young age that's responsible for your insolence but I immediately realised no its the bad influence of ill teachings of BN that is reflected thru your utterances. By the way you must be having a MOTHER, so try reading out your beloved PORNO BN to her and get her blessings.
Though it is not very clear as to which shabad are U referring to but even then from what you written, see for yourself how Guru Nanak has delivered such a strong social message in such a subtle and simple language without using any indecent words. In comparison look at the porno details in your BN. Can U post a few lines from chirtropakhyan here, the way you have posted lines from SGGS?
O ignorant fool, In both the shabads the theme is meeting with the eternal God (gyan) is blissful and those who miss the opportunity are unforunate (dohagan). Where is the vulgarity in it.
Mr. Jhootnam, Now please check the comment wall for better clarification. If still you are not satisfied and give logicle comment not like read it to your family members with meaning bla bla... Do you have any genuine knowledge the proove me buddy otherwise sit back and shut up your mouth
Gurbani of GURU GRANTH SAHIB teaches us not to take any kind of intoxicant, not just alcohol and your BN encourages you to indulge in all kinds of vices including various drugs, illicit sex, unnatural sex .porno
You seem to have been brainwashed by your bachittarnatkiya gurus. The day Guru Gobind Singh Ji gives you the insight to judge between right and wrong you will regret and repent. You will seek forgiveness from Guru Gobind Singh for calling him the author of such a rubbish Porno.
He talked about fact, if you are saying all this is bakvaar then better come up with some fact like him.. but talking like an angry man doesn't help... and who said "Gurbani is not supposed to be analysed"?? without analyze how will you understand what are you reading?? by just readint the whole japji sahib from gutka doesn't help if you dont know the meaning and follow that path.. and you will find that path only if you study or analyze it... ratta maar ke gurbani padni to acha na hi pado...

Everyone - please do not believe anything posted by this youtube user. "SinghSabhaCanada" is an insult to the Sikh religion, spreading lies and doubt.
This guy Dalbir Singh conducted a "comparative study" of Sri Guru Granth Sahib and Sri Dasam Granth. But Gurbani is not supposed to be analysed and evaluated like this. This poor man would have become enlightened if he had recited Gurbani as a humble pauper, rather than "studying" it as a disillusioned scholar.
You better counter the facts stated by S. Dalbir Singh with support from Gurbani Shabads or else stop badmouthing a research work which is sure to clear many doubts about the Bachittar Natak.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
The fact of the matter is Dalbir's facts are all wrong. Chritriopykan was written by Guru Gobind Singh as its clearly mentioned in sampuran rehras and there is a hand written gutka of that rehras that belonged to Bhai Mani Singh available.
Dalbir (I'll refuse to call him Singh because he doesn't believe in amrit's 5 banis) refuses to acknowldge the puratan Gutka sahibs and scriptures that mention dassam bani. He hasn't done proper research and should stop his manmat veechar.
You are requested to keep your dark energy to yourself Mr. Lamba. Dalbir Singh has made his point very clear. Why don't you move a limb, burn some midnight oil and crosscheck his claims. If you find something amiss then get back to me. 3 banis of BN became a part of Amrit sanchar only when Rehat Maryada was made that too as a compromise formula to maintain unity in the Panth. only
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
nope your wrong. Jaap Sahib was written at Paunta Sahib, Tav Prasad Saviye was written by Guru Gobind Singh Ji when he met his friend Raja Ratan Rai and Chaupai Sahib was written at Bhabour Sahib. Guru Gobind Singh's armour as jaap sahib written on it and you can get darshan of the armour. Puratan Saroops dated before 1699 have the other banis in them...end of story! Do you need feel bir raas when doing jaap sahib? bairag during savayie? or get rakhiya from chaupai sahib?
why do you give thumbs downs to my comments? That means you don't my comments told to be read by others.
There has been no single Gursikh in history that doesn't believe in Guru Gobind Singh's bani. Whats a Gursikh? "gur sathigur kaa jo sikh akhaaeae s bhalakae out(h) har naam dhhiaavai" Dalbir probably doesnt do amirt vela or abyaas of naam.
Khalsa panth knows what I said to be true. I won't argue with you any more because Guru Ji told me to not argue with fools.
What kind of Sikh are you who believes in karam kands of 'Dark energy' . Yes every Sikh believes in the Gurbani as enshrined in "GURU GRANTH SAHIB' which has been accorded the status of "ONE & ONLY ETERNAL SHABAD GURU" by none other than Guru Gobind Singh Ji Maharaj. Guru Sahib ordered his Sikhs not to bow his head in front of any other book or idol or person as GURU. YOU HAVE NOTHING TO SAY IN SUPPORT OF BN which is nothing but filth.

9315341147 2 years ago

3 banis of BN became a part of Amrit sanchar only when Rehat Maryada was made that too as a compromise formula to maintain unity in the Panth. only

nope your wrong.
