Just play the first one, Shadow of Chernobyl, update it at least to the 1.0005 patch. After that you can install one of many mods out there (STALKER Complete 2009, LURK Mod, Oblivion Lost, etc...).

Forget about beauty games (Crysis, Far Cry 2!).

This one is all about the gameplay and a truly imersive and claustrophobic atmosphere!

After you finish it, go for Clear Sky! More of the same, but with better graphics (DX10!!!).

You can carry up to 80Kg when wearing an exoskeleton in the default game.

it's a protection that you find at the end of the game only, unless you use mods ;)
