You think that is hot? My HP Pavilion DV9000 laptop with the TL-60 processor runs at a constant 66 degrees Celsius when the max multiplier is disabled. Enable it and it can go up to a whopping 92 degrees if you max out the processor. I understand that it may be HP's fault for making a terrible chassis, but AMD needs to own up to the fact that my processor was overclocked to begin with. C'mon, having 10.0x at 92 degrees and 9.5x at 66 degrees is way too big a difference to overlook!

@MusicManBW23 well if the laptop gets really hot, the fan will spin really fast in order to cool it down a little bit, if that's the case , you will hear whining noise, not sure how to stop it...maybe take the fan out and get a quiet fan?

@femmefatale1990 Come with Microsoft office with 60days free trials, and you can download PDF online for free. And yes its good for basic, but the battery life might be a issue for college students, its only goona last 1hr with wireless on.

@MrDarealsaint Most of the laptops come with 4 gig ram thesedays, but if you are getting exactly the same laptop in the video, it only has 2 gig, so i might want to upgrade to 4 gig ram. Other than that, you will be fine with music and photo editing.

For video editing, it's better to buy a desktop instead.

Compaq sucks- I'm not buying HP/Compaq products ever- a 6 months CQ60 with VISTA suddenly crashed and now its dead- I assume its the hard drive, lost all my data especially Porno Collection although barely used it.

And the HP guys would not respond to my warranty calls to fix it. ACER, TOSHIBA or DELL in future for laptops.

Its not a graphics card ... its more of a graphics Chip its bolted to the motherboard ... so there is NO WAY you can replace it

Also ...you cannot install any other OS than vista

yeah, no way i can replace it, but no, you can install pretty much any os out there on this pc. Trying burn ur xp disc with nLite if it doesnt boot up, and that will allow you to install xp. I dont have this laptop with me anymore, but I do have my hp pavilion laptop, install Windows, Linux and Unix(osx) without problem.

what linux os do you need? theres like 100 of them.... most of them are free so you can download them. The most common or popular one is ubuntu I guess. Just Google it and download it. It will now allow you to install it inside windows partition, so you will get a nice dual boot after installation.

Maybe I just got a bad one, but I personally don't think that it's a very good computer.

Within a couple of months, the screen started flickering depending on the position it is set in. After 8 months the battery went completely dead (replaced under warranty). If I'm using the computer at a desk, I will remove the battery and plug it in so I'm not prematurely wearing it out. The battery life is terrible...I'm lucky to get 1.5 hours out of it. And this thing runs far too hot!

Haha, yeah...I've got the same computer. It runs much too hot mainly because it uses a desktop processor, which explains why battery life sucks. Try resting it on a binder or something if you have it on your lap.
