Whoops ... My Bad! Apologies to Nona and La La. You even said it's Nona Hendryx in your description ... D'oh! Shows how observant I am, doesn't it? I met a lot of lovely and talented people at Ellie's house that weekend ... please forgive the confusion. :-)

I first really heard of Ellie when my high school did "Leader of the Pack" as one of our musicals. Never in my life have I had as much fun as I did while doing rehearsals and performances of that show.
I never met you, but thank you, Ellie, for everything.
Annie Golden should do an album of Ellie Greenwich songs - maybe a mix of hits and lesser-known greats like "You Don't Know" and "What Good Is I Love You?"
This was a private visitation held during the weekend after Ellie's services. Many of her family and friends, including a lot of people that she worked with during her illustrious career, gathered to celebrate her life and works. There was a lot of laughter, many tears, stories shared, and some unbelievably terrific music. Ellie would have absolutely loved it, and would have, no doubt, been the star, and rightfully so. Come to think of it, she WAS the star. Rest in peace my darling friend.
Was this her funeral or memorial service? Or during the shiva? I was thinking that her funeral must have had some musical greats in attendance - probably had to have made it private.

@LeaderEnt Actually the woman in the foreground with Laura is Nona Hendryx from LaBelle not LaLa Brooks.

Wonderful tribute to a special person who will be missed - but who lives on through her incredible magical music.
