I can confirm they're called "Inhlwa" in isiNdebele and matter of fact, I aslo reminisce catching "Inswabanda" and "Amahlabusi" back in the day. The good old days when us kids had no worries, just mucking about, enjoying a once prosperous, beloved and beautiful Zimbabwe. How things have changed for the worst in such a short time!!!!
@08736409 Sorry but in which language? We always called flying ants Ishwa, that is what they are commonly known as in the Byo/Matabeleland area. Even a Google search seems to confirm this but I would be interested to know if perhaps we have misinterpretted the word here. Many thanks.
Shona's call Ishwa and Ndebele call it Inhlwa. Just different languages - same thing. Tasty still.
