  • I love the Hendrix sound and vibe of this song. Uli's awesome!

  • Uli Jon Roth is the man! This is by far my favorite Scorpions album. It just plain rocks.

  • It's like Hendrix playing for Scorpions

  • I'm not your Bugs Bunny and you're not my wife!

  • Pioneers

  • 2:08 SUPER CRAZY SCIENCE FICTION ROBOT MAN KLAUS DANCE LOL LOVE IT !!

  • Who ever is posting these videos......thanks, they are awesome and with the guitars of Schenker and Roth...keep posting them !!!

  • Take notes, youngsters. Here is professional, kick-ass ROCK!

  • THE POP?? hahahahaha nice! the intro when the bass starts is awesome!!! uli's solo is like hell!!!!!

  • klaus menie has the best voice in the world

  • У НИХ НЕТ ПЛОХИХ ПЕСЕН !!!! КАЖДАЯ ПЕСНЯ ШЕДЕВР!!!

  • It's weird to see rudolph with an explorer instead of V.

  • 2:45 dance as axel jajj

  • hey dance as axel rose jajj

  • Scorpions and UFO in the 70's hard shitty management and PR people.

  • At the time this came out it was super heavy and I would definitely rather hear this over Detroit rock city or Abba or steely fuckin Dan man I hated that shit.

  • Man, I am withya, I was a teen in the late 70's and music was fucking HORRIBLE, AWFUL, so bad I can't even describe it. You forgot a few, BeeGees, Olivia Newton John, Fleetwood Mac, disco, etc, etc, etc. If it wasn't for these guys, and the Judas Priest albums of the time, there would be nothing worth a shit to listen to.

  • @mzaputil I agree with you about those pop bands sucking, and Priest and Scorps were 2 of my very favorite rock bands, but there was lots of good rock: UFO, Rainbow, Nazareth, Uriah Heep, Sweet, AC/DC, Motorhead, Foghat, etc. The 70's produced some of the best music.

  • Great video... it's a shame the director didn't bother showing Uli during the lead break though, great song... great band!

  • Uli was on his way out of the band, that's what this song is actually about. so I bet the remaining bandmembers though, why show him? Or at least they agreed with the director. Probably why Tokyo Tapes is so great, because something great was ending, the Uli era of Scorpions.

  • The best part of this Video was Uli wrote it about leaving The Scorpions lol

  • Perfect combo Rudolf with Gibson/humbuckers on rhythm and Uli with Strat single coils on lead!!!!

  • Right on. One of my favorite Scorpions tunes . . . .

  • Dancing Klaus! Einfach fantastisch! Scorpions forever!

  • Oh My God!!! I could make so many little comments....these guys worked long and hard.....I wont say that 4 anybody

  • Awesome video like the way Klaus Meine dances. Great lyrics, one cool song!

  • excellent song....Klaus is the best....He has a great voice!!!!!

  • YEAH!!!!

  • Very,very rare,great video,thx!

  • what is with the spaz dancing klaus?

  • very strong song.Klaus is great

  • Comment removed

  • this early songs of the scorpions are the most rock song ever compared to the other like always aomewhere

  • This early Scorpions Videos is priceless man!!! How great would it be if they released "Tokoyo Tapes" on DVD!!!!!

  • Have been praying for years. I don't think it exists though.

  • My beloved Klaus, you used to have hair!!! :d I love these early recordings... ;) and all of their songs. Will be going to a concert soon. They're pure magic!!!!

  • pure scorpions

  • I love klaus's hair

  • ja ja, another excelent song of scorpions, taken by force is of my favorites albums of them, the scorpions still are great

  • Rudolf must've forgot his flying V that day-- LOL

  • that fender stratocaster was he's first guitar.

  • ssolo8, he didn't change anything, he followed in Blackmore's footsteps like Malmsteen. True he had fluidity and taste unlike say Rhodes or Halen who are slightly more staccato (much more staccato would be someone like Morse or some Bluegrass player) Blackmore and Malmsteen both have taste, writing and playing great melodic pieces, the problem for many with Malmsteen is, he likes overplaying on every piece. Blackmore always played for the piece,

    like his idol Django.

    never

  • Uli changed the way people play! Amazing fluidity and flow! BTW I have NEVER heard this song, EVER!

  • "taken by force" 1977, the album from which is "he's a woman..." and "we'll burn the sky"

  • not forgetting sails of charon witch is just the second highist in the related video's list.

  • Those who make any negative comments towards Uli Roth with the Scorps obviously haven't listened to "Tokyo Tapes" the live album.

  • One of the top 5 guitar albums ever. In my book

  • I'll never forget the first time I heard Uli's playing- Sails of Charon- just awesome neo classical shredding with taste- His Hendrix style playing is as close to Jimi's sound was as anyone I've heard, with the exception of Stevie Ray- It was a heartbreaker to us when he left Scorps

  • uli is god..!!

  • Ruddy lenners was the drummer in In Trance album 1975

  • HOW FAST KLause can move his feet at intro awesome!!

  • The five first albums are so underrated and forgotten with time... it's a shame because they are filled with impressive music... these songs deserve to be on classic compilations as much, if not more, than all their 80's hits.

  • Agreed!

  • I love this song & Uli's solo!!!! Classic underrated, underappreciated rock.

  • I wanted to see Uli during the guitar solo, not Klaus doing an aerobics routine. Other than that, cool video.

  • agree, but in contrast with klaus, uli is just standing and playing the guitar. so they might have thought that the aerobics of klaus is better than the stillness of uli. moreover, rockers who want to see the solo are not as much the housewives who want a quick gymnastic programme xD

  • You probably know more than anyone...what happend to Rudy?? Did he quit or get kicked out?? and Fuck yeah amazing solo!!!!!

  • For your info, buddy, he stayed true to the band to this day.

  • Indeed. He and Meine, right?

  • Yep, that's right. Him, Klaus and Matthias.

  • Ehe, not to be bitchy, arrogant or upitty but as far as I know, Rudolf and Meine where the OnLY ones to have been in the band since it got formed. Jabs joined after Michael Schenker's second departure, if I remember/know correctly.

  • the bass player is original too, francis bucholz

  • Not really, if you count Lonesome Crow. Also know that I meant today's Scorpions line-up.

  • Rudolph wasn't on Lonesome Crow though..? Was he?

  • I thinks so. Not sure though...

  • I know if you check out the vid "I'm going mad" from Lone-Crow here on youtube you'll see that its some other dude on drums...doesn't mean he was in the studio I suppose.

    rock on bro!

  • You mean working together on the album or the video clip? If it's the former, yes he was there too.

  • rudolph schenker? he started the band bro

  • This is getting confusing. Someone earlier started referring to Rudy Lenners as "Rudolph" too, so I was rolling with that. Yes I knew Rudolph Schenker was a founding member, he's the backbone of that band!

    thx dude!

  • Rudolph was so much on lonesome crow that it is HE who found the name of the group (when he was a teenager in the mid-60's), & is the only one who stood (after all it was his own enterprise -i say this on purpose) from the begining

  • If your talking about Rudolph Schenker...yes we all agree on that already ten times over. The Question was Rudy Leners..??

    thx....

  • Yosh, Klaus and Rudy were there when the band first started. About a few years later, Matthias joined the fray, and while other members moved in and out, the three of them stayed, and thus forms the bond that resulted in the authentic, unique sound known to fans as Scorpions music. THAT is what I meant. But don't worry, I don't think you're being scrawny XP.

  • supposedly rudy was an alcoholic.

  • I had heard that Herman was a bit of a drinker too..and almost had to leave as well, is that true?

  • No. I mean, yes, he's a drinker, but he quit from the band because he wanted to work on a joint music company with the Prince of Monaco back then.

  • No, it wasn't him. It's his brother, Michael.

  • it was Michael actually..

  • Rudy's on stage actually, isn't he?

  • when you see a moustache, you can be sure Rudy was on stage!

    no gay allusion intended ;-))

  • Yes, I know, that was my response for someone, who asked "Where is rudy?", but I dunno why all the responses are situated at the top ;|

  • Well.. I like to hear Uli's solo, but I prefer watching "Klaus' aerobics" rather than Uli's extasy,rapture,excitacion..dunno how to name it in other way//

Sorry but he seems to be too full of oneself for me..

  • fucking awesome solo !!!!!!!

  • I'm not your Bugs Bunny..? Is that a filler or what...? lol...!

  • These are Uli's words.. Uli should play and leave the songwritting for Klaus..i think..

  • They always made killer albums, if you dont have any of their early stuff I'm sorry.

  • fucking great

  • this is why i love youtube

  • gorgeus video!

  • fender needs to have a ulijonroth stratocaster with the long trem arm !!!whos with me

  • I'm on board with that!! I think I get the same sound with my Floyd Rose system on my Jackson, but it would be so cool to have the white Strat. Interesting, a white Strat just like his hero Jimi.

  • FUCK YEH HIGHLY UNDERATED GUITAR GOD!

  • 70's Scorps ruled!!!!

  • The interesting thing is that this song was written by Uli about his bandmates. He was about to leave the band, and the lyrics speak very clearly for him. The Scorpions were "spoiling his art". "You say you wanna be a superstar / You're giving up to get that far" - Well, the eighties proved that the lyrics were true. They became a commercial metal band in order to keep the cash flowing.

  • Interesting...usually I dont think what are the songs about but as you tell this, I understand...pity that Uli didnt sing this one himself, when its so personal

  • yeah dude this song and the the lyrics talk about the scorp's future in a way!Uli knows!

  • Yeah, Klaus sings (Uli's lyrics about) how he wants to become a popstar even not knowing about it..

  • awesome, thanks for such a cool post, i first saw the scorpions in '79 so missed the Uli days, seen Uli in his own right since and seeing him play with the Scorpions in the UK July 2007..should be awesome!

  • uli is god.

  • allways liked this song uli showing some hendrix feel,he"s also playing a sunburst strat with a rosewood board !!

  • cool, i got one of those, but not a fender a squier.

  • the singer is supposed to direct his stupid ass to the lead player thus bringing the cam wit.

  • Man that band had some geetar players huh? Michael Schenker,Uli Roth and Matthias Jabs. Would've loved to have seen'em in the 70's

  • Another example of Uli's great Hendrix influenced playing thx

  • i hate that shit when those dumbass camera ppl shoot anyone but the lead guitarst during the solo!!! god it makes me mad i mean wtf is the idea in that! thanx for the post anywaz sorry for the curssing

  • No shit!!?? I hear ya on that

  • post more please

  • yeah baby!awesome
